According to DNA, AEROSMITH will be venturing to India to play as a part of the first edition of a major music festival to be held in Pune.
Reveals an insider from the organising team, “India is about to experience a music festival like never before, and with acts like Aerosmith banging it in, they can only imagine what is in store.”
The music fest which is a joint venture by actor Arjun Rampal and entrepreneur Shailendra Singh, is said to be a three-day long “glocal” festival slated to be held in Pune from November 23 – 25. “This is going to be a huge musical gala to look forward to. It will be driven by culture, tradition and soul…,” says a spokesperson from the organising team, adding, “And, of course, there are a host of A-list artistes and bands from across the globe who’re going to be a part of the event!”
According to Boston.com, while he waits for his band’s summer tour to start, AEROSMITH bassist Tom Hamilton isn’t sitting on his hands. As usual, Hamilton had a speaking role in the Urban Improv fund-raiser Banned in Boston, and the next night cochaired the YouthCare Spring Gala at the Four Seasons. The event raised $1.1 million for the Mass General Hospital for Children program for children and young adults with Asperger’s syndrome.
In a recent interview with St. Johns, Newfoundland radio station K-Rock 97.5, Tom Hamilton spoke about the band’s appearance on 60 Minutes and also revealed that their long-awaited studio album which has been pushed back to September.
The album would be “just about done” by the time Aerosmith plays the Freshwater Suzuki Salmon Festival in Grand Falls Windsor on July 14th, marking one of the biggest shows in the history of Newfoundland.
“I watched it with trepidation and quite a rapid heart rate,” Hamilton says about the interview with CBS news correspondent Lara Logan. “It was tough to watch. The way they formatted it was very much… they took comments that we made during very deep conversations, actually, that we had during the interview and sort of barraged Steven (Tyler) with them. I thought it was a little brutal the way that did it, but it was the truth. It was everybody speaking what they were feeling. I cringed a little bit, because when we did these interviews, we talked about a lot of things involving anger yet a lot of other things involving love and brotherhood. They used whatever we said about Steven that was negative and just nailed him with it to get his reaction. So he got pissed off and said a couple of things that were demeaning to the rest of us, yet the second that it was over, I texted him and I said, ‘hey, you did a great job.’ He was put in a position where he had to defend himself, and I thought he did it well.”
Some song titles on the new Aerosmith album include: ‘Legendary Child’, ‘Beautiful’ and ‘Out Go The Lights’. Hamilton says that before the album comes out there will be two singles released. Aerosmith is working with their long-time producer Jack Douglas, who worked on such classic Aerosmith albums as 1974’s Get Your Wings, 1975’s Toys In The Attic, and 1976’s Rocks. He worked with the band on it’s 2004 collection of blues standards, Honkin’ On Bobo.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, AEROSMITH producer Jack Douglas told Classic Rock magazine that he suggested recruiting author Stephen King to work with Steven Tyler on lyrics for the band’s new album. Douglas said he threw his idea out there when he was asked by the record label if Tyler needed anyone to write with. Douglas explained, “They looked at me like I was crazy. I said, ‘No, I’m serious. If there’s anyone who’s going to inspire him, it’d be Stephen King. Steven doesn’t need melody — he needs someone who’s going to inspire him as a wordsmith. I don’t want a guy who’s just writing hits right now.'”
The best-selling horror author is a huge rock ‘n’ roll fan and has even worked with John Mellencamp on a stage musical, but it’s not known whether he has actually been approached by the AEROSMITH camp.
Douglas also said that AEROSMITH‘s first all-new album in over a decade, which is tentatively due out in May, “may take you back to places you used to know.”
The band has recorded 15 songs with Douglas, who was behind the board for AEROSMITH classics like “Rocks” and “Toys In The Attic”.
AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry recently revealed via Twitter that the band will embark on a U.S. tour in June. Tickets will go on sale in March. Exact cities and dates will be announced during the coming weeks.
According to TMZ.com, AEROSMITH singer Steven Tyler recently proposed to his longtime girlfriend Erin Brady.
Brady, 38, was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger during a Christmas vacation with Tyler in Hawaii and sources tell TMZ.com she’s set to become the singer’s third wife.
Previously an accountant for Tyler on tour, Brady told Oprah Winfrey in a recent interview that although she bore witness to the worst of Steven‘s bad-boy behavior, she knew his ways could be reformed and she wanted to be the one to do it.
“I saw him, how he behaved… badly,” she said, according to ETOnline.com, telling Oprah she had to step up to the plate as the womanizing continued when their relationship became romantic. Her strategy was to “play” as he would when Tyler would stray, which he admits was a wake-up call and an instigator towards treating the women of his life with the respect they deserve.
“There was some behavior I am ashamed of and I shouldn’t have done,” Steven explained. When asked bluntly if he believed he could remain monogamous with Erin, Tyler confidently replied that he could. “I don’t want to hurt anybody again,” he said. “For all the divorces I’ve had I’ve hurt those girls deeply.”
Steven and Erin have been dating for five years, since Tyler divorced Teresa Barrick.
