Finnish rock cello quartet Apocalyptica, which was recently forced to postpone their North American tour due to issues with Perttu Kivilaakso‘s health, has issued the following update:
“To ensure that Perttu has enough time to recover, we decided to move the French dates and the Swiss date back to April. Fortunately, all the French dates and the Swiss show have now been rescheduled without any major problems and we were even able to add an extra show in Marmande at Garorock.
“All tickets already bought will remain valid for the rescheduled shows. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience and thank you so much for your support! Rest assured, Apocalyptica will definitely start touring on February 22, 2011 in Ljubljana.”
The new dates are as follows:
Apr. 08 – Marmande, France – Garorock Festival
Apr. 09 – Le Mans, France – L’Oasis
Apr. 10 – Lausanne, Switzerland – Les Docks
Apr. 11 – Clarement Ferrand, France – Le Coupe
Apr. 14 – Lille, France – Aeronef
Apr. 15 – Strasbourg, France – Le Laterie (Artefact Festival)

Finnish rock cello quartet Apocalyptica has issued the following statement:
“We wanted to let you know that sadly we are having to reschedule the current run of [North American] dates [which were scheduled to begin on November 25 in Orlando] to the beginning of March 2011. This is due to issues with Perttu‘s [Kivilaakso] health; we have taken the advice of several doctors before making this decision.
“We are working on all details and more information for you right now, and of course we will keep you fully informed! We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our fans and look forward to returning to health and touring in 2011.”

Video footage of Apocalyptica performing the songs “End Of Me”, “Not Strong Enough”, “Beautiful” and “I Don’t Care” as part of ShockHound’s “Shock Sesions” can be at http://www.shockhound.com/artists/2460-apocalyptica-mp3. The Band traveled to Los Angeles in early June to shoot a music video for “End Of Me”, the first single from “7th Symphony”. The song features Bush singer Gavin Rossdale on vocals, with Rossdale also making an appearance in the video.
Apocalyptica has released a new video “Broken Pieces”. The clip features a guest appearance by Flyleaf singer Lacey Sturm (previously known by her maiden name of Lacey Nicole Mosley).

“Broken Pieces” comes off Apocalyptica’s latest album, “7th Symphony”, which sold around 13,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 31 on The Billboard 200 chart.
Other guest artists on “7th Symphony” include Shinedown frontman Brent Smith, vocalist Joseph Duplantier of French metal act Gojira and drummer Dave Lombardo from Slayer.
