Icelandic black metal sensation AUÐN have announced a co-headlining tour with French label mates THE GREAT OLD ONES. The tour begins November 2, and sees both bands traveling across Europe throughout the month, culminating at Tyrant Fest in France. A full list of confirmed tour dates can be found below.
Regarding the tour, AUÐN comment, “It is great to finally break the news of our return to the mainland with our friends in The Great Old Ones whom we toured with last December supporting Gaahls Wyrd. Following the success of our previous collaboration it was only a matter of time before the two bands would join forces again, Europe get ready!”
AUÐN are touring in support of their new album, ‘Farvegir Fyrndar’. ‘Farvegir Fyrndar’ is streaming here.
AUĐN are a prime example of the power and atmosphere of Iceland’s booming black metal scene. Moving and evocative, album opener “Veröld Hulin” shows a masterful command of elegant melody as they build intensity steadily towards the epic closer “Í Hálmstráið Held”, where total ferocity clashes with teeth-gnashing grit. ‘Farvegir Fyrndar’ proves that AUĐN stand on their own while being one of the leaders in the burgeoning movement. ‘Farvegir Fyrndar’ is available now, worldwide. The album is available across several CD and LP formats here.
‘Farvegir Fyrndar’ Track list:

“It is also bleakly grim. At times, it is blasting and brutal, yet perfectly balanced and never straying a solitary note away from the mesmerizing ethereal soundscape projected throughout” – The Grapevine (Iceland)
Hailing from the village of Hveragerði in the southern end of Iceland, AUÐN were founded in 2010, and quickly became regarded as one of the most talented bands from the burgeoning black metal scene in their home country. Unlike the majority of their brethren, AUÐN shed the jarring and caustic approaches to black metal, in favor of haunting melodies and bitter atmospheres.
Since their inception, AUÐN have already created waves in their local Icelandic scene with compelling live performances, one of these which resulted in the band winning their country’s “Wacken Metal Battle” contest. Following their acclaimed Wacken performance, AUÐN have already aimed their sights towards larger audiences over the year to come.
