Melodic obscure black metallers COLD RAVEN are soon back on the road for the “The Evil Over Europe” Tour, supporting POSSESSED and BELPHEGOR, kicking off on December 2nd in Paris. Besides COLD RAVEN, the other support comes from ABSU. Today the band has released a new song, covering WATAIN‘s “Sworn To The Dark”, stream it here:

COLD RAVEN are currently writing new material for their next album! The new album will represent an evolution in the band’s songwriting, though confirming the style shown in the previous work.

Melodic obscure black metal horde COLD RAVEN – formed in 2013 – released their debut full length album “Equilibrium & Chaos” in 2014, via Sliptrick Records. The band’s sound is influenced by the Black Metal scene in the early ‘90s as well by the bands that followed and contributed to open the horizons of the genre. So far COLD RAVEN has shared the stage with important acts, such as Nargaroth, Infernal War, Necromass, Dark Funeral, God Dethroned, Belphegor, Unleashed, Mortuary Drape, Impaled Nazarene, etc, and has played in several European countries.

Just recently the melodic obscure black metallers COLD RAVEN pre-announced their upcoming European Tour, and today the band unveils the details, being confirmed as support for the most extreme tour of the year: “The Evil Over Europe” double-headliner tour featuring POSSESSED, the godfathers of the death metal genre, and BELPHEGOR, one of the most extreme line-ups to ever come out of the death black metal scene. The main support for this tour comes from the Dallas-based black metal lords ABSU.

SHINING Announce North American Tour

Shining2014

Controversial Swedish metal band SHINING have announced their first-ever US tour, reported Season Of Mist. The tour begins on August 11 in Houston, and sees SHINNG performing alongside BELPHEGOR, ORIGIN, and ABIGAIL WILLIAMS. A full list of confirmed tour dates can be found below.

SHINING are touring in support of their new album, ‘IX – Everyone, Everything, Everywhere, Ends’. The album is out now and streaming here.

SHINING previously released a video for the track “Vilja & Dröm”. The NSFW Martin Strandberg-directed video is streaming now at No Clean Singing.

Founded in 1996, SHINING has since earned notoriety within the black metal underground as a result of the band’s innovative and ever-evolving sound, in addition to main-man Niklas Kvarforth’s frightening and abrasive stage persona. Characterized by Kvarforth’s philosophy on suicide, SHINING was originally conceived as a “suicidal black metal” band, inciting violence within their rabid fan-base through the band’s provocative lyrics and self-destructive imagery.  Refusing to be bound by the confines of the genre, SHINING later expanded their unique approach to songwriting and themes, incorporating melodic death metal passages and dynamic vocals ranges. These new influences developed SHINING into new breed of extreme music players, whose musical prowess continues to tread new ground.

BELPHEGOR: Forced To Cancel Russian Dates

Continuing from the story several days ago, where members of  BELPHEGOR and NILE were attacked by Russian Orthodox fanatics after arriving in Russia, BELPHEGOR have now announced that they have been forced to cancel several Russian dates. The band stated:

“After a great tour kickoff in Minsk, Belarus [18th April], BELPHEGOR dealt with heavy opposition and censorship within Russia resulting in three shows being cancelled. We apologize to Russian supporters. The troop tried everything to secure the shows. The St. Petersburg concert was canceled just a few hours before BELPHEGOR was scheduled to enter the stage on the 19th of April. We arrived in Moscow hoping for the best on the 20th. We were ordered to remove the already hanging backdrop, then told that stage props such as sculptures and crosses were forbidden, and Helmuth was not allowed to do vocals for the track “Lucifer Incestus”. During the second track, the sound engineer had been forced to mute the vocals for the rest of the show because of our lyrical content. We were outraged by the entire experience. Afterward, we were informed that we would be unable to play in Ekaterinburg [21st April] and Krasnodar [23rd April].

Helmuth adds: “We’ve toured Russia three times since 2006 and always had amazing experiences. We’ve ignored all protests including death threats during the past few weeks. I was aware many black and death metal bands were having trouble recently, but we still marched in. To people who think they know everything: When that waste of oxygen approached us at the airport on the 19th, he had a hand in his pocket. I expected him to have a weapon. If I had hit him, I would have been thrown in jail, and he would have ended up in the hospital. That was their plan; he had that other degenerate filming the entire thing. Special thanks to brother Mr. Karl Sanders, who had the courage to block him as he continued to harass me. I’m a musician, not a fighter, especially in Russia. I’ve survived Typhus and have already been dead for six hours, hanging on only by machines followed by open-heart surgery. I do not fear anyone other than myself. No excuses to anyone!! End of story. It is of the utmost importance that artists have freedom of expression. Throughout history religions and governments have and continue to censor creative works all around the world. Thank you very much to all metalheads who loyally stand behind us and fight against oppressors and hypocritical moralizers. Russian supporters, be prepared!! BELPHEGOR are unstoppable and will return.”

BELPHEGOR: “Chapter XI” Rehearsals Begin

BELPHEGOR have begun their first rehearsal sessions for their new album last Tuesday in Abtenau, Salzburg, Austria.

Mainman Helmuth comments: “Magnificent nature covered in snow that has arrived in the mountains with -11 degrees [12 ÂșF] here and we’re freezing our asses off. Just perfect for creating brutal sound collages. With this currently untitled album we will try to develop and bring everything to a new level, since I have the feeling this is the strongest recording line-up we’ve ever had. Regards to blood brother Barth Resch for the photo shoot.”

Check out this exclusive clip of BELPHEGOR playing ‘Totenkult – Exegesis Of Deterioration’ recorded live inside their “rehearsal bunker”. This scorching death/black metal track will be included on the upcoming album scheduled for a late 2016, early 2017 release.

BELPHEGOR‘s new project will take place two-and-a-half years after the highly-acclaimed “Conjuring The Dead” album, which was released via Nuclear Blast records in August 2014!
