‘SHOTGUN’ is the debut single from UK ROCK band BRISAN, bringing together hard rock, southern rock, with classic and doomy under tones in a song that hits hard.
“‘SHOTGUN’ is a middle finger to the lies and the people who think they can get away with anything. A world full of smoke, mirrors and manufactured fear, where truth is twisted, promises are worthless and those at the top keep playing their games while the rest of us pick up the pieces. It’s about seeing through the act and refusing to play along.
“Bang, bang, bang like a shotgun to the face” is a metaphor for the moment when the lies and manipulation hit home. Waking up to the reality behind the performance.”
‘SHOTGUN’ is released on the 6th November on all streaming platforms.
Blending rock, post grunge and southern rock into a powerful contemporary sound, BRISAN draw inspiration from varied artists including Guns N’ Roses, Nirvana, Seether, Metallica, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Peter Gabriel, while carving out a voice that is unmistakably their own. Their music channels the raw energy of ’70s rock and the weight and intensity of ’00s post grunge. The result is a sound that feels both familiar and hitting, melodic and emotionally resonant.
On stage, BRISAN deliver riff fresh, hard driven performances defined by tight musicianship, dynamic interplay and a compelling presence. Their sound connects across genres, from metal lovers and dedicated rock fans to broader festival audiences.
Formed by Steve Leonard in 2025 as Stephen Brian Leonard Band (SBLB), then rebranding to BRISAN, a new name but the same powerful songs and line up. The SBLB’s inaugural gig was at the legendary Leo’s Red Lion venue in Gravesend, in April 2025, supporting Fury. This led to a coveted slot on the VIP stage at Maid of Stone Festival 2025 a few months later, and several other shows across the UK.
There has been regular radio play, with appearances on UK stations Planet Rock, Total Rock Radio, Emerging Rock Bands, Scotland Rocks Radio and Rock Radio UK, amongst others. Overseas support includes Metal Devastation Radio, Wild Dogs Radio and Boston Rocks Radio (USA) and Barracuda Rock Radio (Netherlands).
