STEVE DI GIORGIO doesn’t need any longer introductions, as he is widely renowned as a pioneer on the fretless bass in heavy metal music, being the bassist of TESTAMENT, DEATH and SADUS, among others. Within his genre, STEVE DI GIORGIO is respected for his playing skills, versatility and incredible technique. He has more than 40 studio album recordings and over 20 years of touring the world.

On December 1st, Tarja Virmakari of Metal Shock Finland & Alpha Omega Management met Steve Di Giorgio at Live Music Club in Milan, where TESTAMENT gave a killer show on their “Brotherhood of The Snake” tour. Tarja and Steve spent a nice afternoon, having a long and pleasant chat, talking about the tour, of course, but also about life, music, gear, upcoming tours with Vader and Annihilator, ice hockey, his experiences in Finland and more. Bay area thrash giants TESTAMENT have announced to bring the “Brotherhood Of The Snake” headline show to European shores this winter.

The band will be touring in support of their latest album. “Brotherhood Of The Snake” received raving reviews from all over the world and hit the charts in numerous countries upon its release in October 2016.

TESTAMENT will be supported by fellow thrashers ANNIHILATOR and label mates DEATH ANGEL in support of their latest release »The Evil Divide«!

Commented TESTAMENT singer Chuck Billy: “I am pleased to announce the »Brotherhood of the Snake« headline tour coming to Europe in November. It’s going to be a thrash extravaganza with TESTAMENT, ANNIHILATOR and DEATH ANGEL. This invasion is gonna devastate.”

Added DEATH ANGEL‘s Mark Osegueda: “It has been way too long since DEATH ANGEL has toured in Europe…A fact that we are none too pleased about… So… It is with tremendous pride, and excitement that I can say DEATH ANGEL is FINALLY coming back in support of our latest record »The Evil Divide«! The expressional cover was created by renowned artist Eliran Kantor who also did the art for the TESTAMENT‘s last album, “The Dark Roots Of Earth”, and also worked for bands like HATEBREED, SOULFLY or KATAKLYSM in the past.

The album was recorded under the watchful eyes of producer Juan Urteaga (EXODUS, HEATHEN, MACHINE HEAD), guitarist Eric Peterson and singer Chuck Billy and was mixed and mastered by well-known metal producer Andy Sneap (ACCEPT, ARCH ENEMY, CRADLE OF FILTH, KREATOR, MACHINE HEAD, MEGADETH).

Commented Peterson in an interview with Metal Maniac: “It’s very diverse, but it’s very epic. There’s nothing on there that breeds commercial. And I think for thirty years of recording music and trying different formulas and stuff, I think we’ve found a formula that is very metal. I think for the metal fan that is looking for something for the nook and crannies… not just your normal, ‘Oh, it’s got a thrash beat and a riff.’ There’s a lot going on here.”

The songwriter also told Metal Forces in another interview: “It’s different. This one is more thrash. I mean, this has got some of the fastest stuff that we have ever played. Usually, we have one or two thrash songs, and then we have some mid-tempo, and then we have a slow, heavy one, and then up-tempo kind of stuff. Half of the new record is thrash, which we’ve never done before.”

He continued: “It’s kind of like »Demonic« and »The Gathering«, but a little bit wiser, I think. Chuck’s not singing so death. I mean, he does some death stuff but he’s singing more like he did on the last record and then with the craziness of »The Gathering« or even heavy stuff like »Demonic«.”
