Swedish metallers SABATON have released the lyric video for the English version of the title track of their new album, “Carolus Rex”. Check it out below.
SABATON recently parted ways with guitarists Oskar Montelius and Rikard Sundén, drummer Daniel Mulback and keyboardist Daniel Mÿhr. The band’s new touring lineup is as follows:
Commented the group: “At the moment we are still searching for a keyboard player. Until we have found the right guy we will still have Daniel Myhr with us, in digital form, since he has specially recorded all keyboards for us to use on tour. Therefore, we are not cancelling any shows at all — the war machine of SABATON will go on just as planned!”

The limited edition of „Carolus Rex“, the upcoming album of Swedish epic power metal shooting stars SABATON is available for pre-orders and will only be available through the Nuclear Blast Mailorder.
The special edition will be made available as noble earbook and encompasses the album in both versions, englisch and swedish and features 3 bonus tracks: „Twilight Of The Thundergod“ (AMON AMARTH cover), „Feuer Frei!“ (RAMMSTEIN cover), „In The Army Now“ (STATUS QUO cover).

Commented the band: “The topics of the songs will remain quite the same and deals with the Swedish Empire, from its rise to its fall.
“‘Carolus Rex’ will be available for purchase on single Swedish CD (Sweden only) and single English CD plus a limited edition which features a double CD with both language versions. The double CD will also feature a different cover artwork.
“The release is set for Europe and in North America the last week in May, but already now you can pre-order the album.
“The album is produced by Peter Tägtgren who is also doing guest vocals on one song.
“During the recording of ‘Carolus Rex’, we also recorded a song where Joakim [Brodén] sings in German, a cover of ‘Feuer Frei’ by RAMMSTEIN.
“We are currently booking a huge tour and will present more countries in the upcoming days.”

The band previously stated about the album: “For the first time ever we have had an expert to help us out with the theme, the well-known Swedish historian Bengt Liljegren. We have also added some extra time in the studio to find the absolute right sound on ‘Carolus Rex’, and our producer, Peter Tägtgren, says that this album will mark a brand new standard for how a heavy metal album should sound like!”
Liljegren‘s previously published works include acclaimed biographies of Adolf Hitler and Karl XII. He also appeared in the popular Swedish TV series “Boston Tea Party”.
SABATON will embark on a North American headlining tour in the spring. The “Swedish Empire Tour 2012” will kick off on April 10 in Tampa, Florida.
SABATON bassist Pär Sundström was forced to sit out several shows on the Canadian leg of the band’s most recent North American tour due to a knee injury.
“World War Live: Battle Of The Baltic Sea”, the first-ever live album from SABATON, was released on August 5, 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records.
