“When we learned there was a documentary about the creative, spiritual and musical journey of the great David Bowie, we wanted to pay our tribute, acknowledge his genius, his artistry, his influence and our gratitude to him,” said band vocalist Derek Day. “We’ve always had a few cover songs in our set; in the beginning, it was out of necessity as we didn’t have enough of our own songs. Now it’s our choice. Whether it was Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Guns N’ Roses, Queen, or many others, they represent a road map of our influences, our roots…and how we’ve gotten ‘here’ musically. David Bowie played a major role.”
There’s a starman waiting in the sky He’d like to come and meet us But he thinks he’d blow our minds There’s a starman waiting in the sky He’s told us not to blow it ‘Cause he knows it’s all worthwhile… —David Bowie, “Starman”
Twenty-twenty-two was a true break-out year for Classless Act. The band – Day, guitarists Dane Pieper and Griffin Tucker, bassist Franco Gravante, and Chuck McKissock on drums – toured the U.S. with Dorothy on her Spring “Gifts From The Holy Ghost” trek, released its debut album, Welcome To The Show, in June, receiving rave press reviews from North America to the U.K. and Europe, South America and Australia, hit the North American road in July on the summer’s biggest tour, The Stadium Tour, opening for Motley Crüe and Def Leppard, split the month of December between supporting Giovannie and The Hired Guns, and their own headline dates on its “The Most Wonderful Tour of the Year,” and wrapped up the year with the release of Welcome To The Acoustic Show EP, that featured stripped-down versions of five songs from their album.
As BraveWords’ Jonathan Smith wrote about Classless Act in his Stadium Tour review, “Led by highly charismatic and off-the-wall frontman Derek Day, who could be best described as a composite of Robert Plant’s high-end brilliance, Roger Daltry’s power, Axl Rose’s grittiness, and David Lee Roth’s stage presence, their comparatively short set, set the air ablaze.”

ABOUT CLASSLESS ACT:
It’s not often that a band comes around like Classless Act who have tempted a new generation of fans and given rock’s faithful a reason to keep believing. Influenced by Queen, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and Bowie, the L.A.-based five-piece bring a fresh, young take on a golden age of music. They’ve been applauded by bands like Jane’s Addiction, given nods from execs with Live Nation and MTV, and are already finding their footing in major international markets barely a year after releasing their first single “Give It To Me” in 2021.
With the release of their anticipated debut Welcome To The Show via Better Noise Music on June 24, the band immediately racked up 2 million streams and got the attention of rock bibles like Loudwire, SPIN, Metal Hammer, and Blabbermouth, the latter who said Classless Act “stands ready to carve out a legacy of its own.”
While the music tells its own story, so do the members of the band themselves, hailing from all over the globe, including Hawaii, Los Angeles, Argentina, and Dallas. The band, featuring Derek Day (vocals), Dane Pieper (guitar), Griffin Tucker (guitar), Franco Gravante (bass), and Chuck McKissock (drums), first formed in 2018 when the five former strangers met through friends via social media. Their chemistry quickly came to light, the members fusing together anthemic rhythms, shreddy guitars, soaring vocals and clever arrangements that, as one writer astutely said, have “…enough energy to power a city.”
With personal invites to appear on summer 2022’s highest grossing tour, The Stadium Tour, as well as the Taylor Hawkins tribute and Aftershock festival, Classless Act are giving the industry whiplash with the constant head turning and are poised to become a next-generation defining act.
Rock music’s most exciting debut of 2022, CLASSLESS ACT, are giving listeners a different, unplugged take on the amped up, energetic anthems that make up their acclaimed album, Welcome To The Show, which was released June 24 via Better Noise Music and has already racked up more than 2 million streams.
Starting today, the L.A.-based five-piece will launch a series of acoustic versions of the record’s hit singles, beginning with the self-titled song “Classless Act” alongside a new video.
Classless Act singer Derek Day recently appeared at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at L.A.’s Kia Forum on Sept. 27 where Day joined Dave Grohl and members of the Foo Fighters as well as Motley Crue for a special two-song set. He was personally recommended for a spot on the all-star lineup by The Darkness’ Justin Hawkins who also appears on the Classless Act track, “This Is For You.”
In December, Classless Act will head out on the road again with Billboard chart toppers Giovannie & The Hired Guns for a U,S. tour that begins in Mobile, AL and wraps in Richmond, VA, with more dates to be announced. Tickets are on sale now at https://classlessact.com/#tour.
Over the next two months, Classless Act will release a new acoustic take and new video every two weeks, culminating in a 5-song collection, Welcome To The Acoustic Show, on December 16. The additional releases will include unplugged versions of “This Is For You,” “Time To Bleed,” “All That We Are” and “Storm Before the Calm.”
Recorded live at Sunset Sound, with no overdubs, the new takes hone in on the talent of frontman Derek Day and the musicianship of the talented-beyond-their-young-years ensemble that includes Dane Pieper (guitar), Griffin Tucker(guitar), Franco Gravante (bass), and Chuck McKissock (drums). Gravante personally mixed the acoustic tracks himself.
“Every song on the album pretty much started out this way. And we thought it would be cool for you to hear where we started. And we decided if we were going to do this, it needs to be LIVE; no f**ing around,” says Derek Day.
Upon Welcome To The Show’srelease on June 24, Classless Act immediately garnered critical acclaim with press hailing them as “the next big thing in music” (Next Mosh) and “very reminiscent of when rock reigned supreme” (Loudwire). The Rock Pit declared the songs on the album “break like Queen used to so well into flamboyant guitar [with] Supertramp meets Muse aplomb,” and New Noisealso said it’s a record “that feels most easily summed up as ‘powerful’” from “a new-ish band who sound like the greatest hits of ‘70s and ‘80s rock eras, with a grace and vibe that’s more modern.”
The album reviews echoed the positive reviews the band has received for their live show, having shared the stage with Dorothy and Dirty Honey as well as an opening slot on the summer’s biggest tour, the $173.5 million grossing Stadium Tour that graced major stadiums across the country and Canada.
Seeing Classless Act live, BraveWordssaid they “sealed their place among hard rock’s new elite.” Splice affirmed, “While the band may be new, they performed liked seasoned pros…Their music was filled with driving beats, big hooks, great guitar work and equally as important tons of rock n’ roll attitude.” And Dread Musicsaid, “Classless Actabsolutely made their presence known as they served up high octane rock music on a platter to everyone in the park…I was a fan before they finished their first song. This band is another in the army of acts
that are the future of rock n roll and I have no doubt that Classless Act will be out there headlining their own tour soon enough.”
In addition to appearing on the Stadium Tour that featured Def Leppard, Joan Jett and Motley Crue, Classless Actalso played Aftershock (Oct. 9), the West Coast’s Biggest Rock Festival, where they shared the bill with Muse, Bring Me The Horizon and The Struts.

CLASSLESS ACT – currently kicking off the Mötley Crüe/Def Leppard summer co-headline Stadium Tour dates – had a bit of a meltdown during their recent set in St. Louis. Said the band’s bassist Franco Gravante, “We were on stage at Busch Stadium, in our 4th song, and I was wondering why my feet were SO DAMN HOT. I mean, everything was hot, but my feet, they were like, burning up. I look down and the glue on my boots had totally melted, so I just taped them together and figured they’d get me through the rest of the tour.”
But hey, for a band that has been lauded by the press as “…they set the air ablaze…” “…served up high octane rock music on a platter…” and “one of the hottest new bands out there…” – there was no way their bassist could go on stage every day with his boots held together by gaffers tape. And, apparently, that’s not something that’s going to happen on Mötley Crüe’s watch. So, Vince Neil, who is featured on the band’s eponymous single “Classless Act,” saw Franco’s post on Classless Act’s Instagram, and along with his band mates – Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, and Mick Mars – came to the rescue and surprised Franco with a brand new pair of biker boots, now Franco’s perfect sole mates.
The Stadium Tour – Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and Classless Act – who take the stage at 3:45, so get there early – is on its way to these stadiums and towns:

ABOUT CLASSLESS ACT:
When they released their debut single “Give It To Me” in the summer of 2021, Classless Act were immediately praised for their ability to sound both fresh and timeless. Loudwire instantly added the song to their “Weekly Wire” Spotify playlist, identifying it as one of the top new releases of the summer. And other iconic outlets, like SPIN magazine, were early to show support. It was a fitting public introduction to a band who embody what it means to be modern rock stars.
Formed in 2018 and consisting of five former strangers who met via social media Classless Act — Derek Day/vocals, Dane Pieper/guitar, Griffin Tucker/guitar, Franco Gravante/bass, and Chuck McKissock/drums — quickly formed a brotherhood bonded through a series of double-taps, DM’s, and tagged comments. Their music echoes the hallmarks of previous generations – anthemic rhythms, shreddy guitars, and soaring vocals – but punches its way into the future with clever arrangements, sharp musicianship, and proficient songwriting; and, according to one writer, “…enough energy to power a city.”
Already making noise in the industry, the band has worked with world-class producers like Bob Rock, Michael Beinhorn and Joe Chiccarrelli, who have helped craft hits for the likes of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes. The band recently landed a deal with Better Noise Music, Mediabase and Billboard’s #1 rock label for 2021, and their debut album, Welcome to the Show, will be released June 24, 2022. Having been invited to join the line-up on The Stadium Tour, this summer’s 36-date, co-headline trek with Motley Crue and Def Leppard, Classless Act is well on its way to achieving its collective goal – being a next-generation defining act.
Today CLASSLESS ACT, one of the most buzzed-about up-and-coming rock bands, are releasing their much-anticipated debut album, Welcome To The Showvia Better Noise Music. Having already earned more than one million streams, the new album gained early traction with three previously released singles, including the self-titled “Classless Act” that features a guest appearance by Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil, the catchy “This Is For You” with Justin Hawkins of The Darkness, and the bombastic “Time To Bleed.”
“Just like the song says, we gave you all our blood, our sweat, our tears, our hate, our sex, our deepest, darkest fears. This is for you!” said frontman Derek Day about the album.
Also premiering today is the new single and music video, “All That We Are,” the final installment in the four-part, interlocking video series that loosely follows the band as they set the soundtrack for the misadventures of Farley, an unlucky soul in the wrong place at the wrong time. You can watch the music video HERE.
“All that we are – is it enough for us to survive?” asks Day. “This is a question, a concept we found ourselves asking after all we have been through over the past two years. Hell, the past seven or so years. We’ve been in a wee bit of a less-than-sunny time in our history. So what are we gonna do? Grow or go! Everyone needs to decide. We’ve got a show tonight, so I know what we’re doing!”
Classless Act is poised to find a whole new legion of fans, first with their single “Classless Act” appearing on the soundtrack for THE RETALIATORSfilm, out this fall, and as they continue in their opening spot on this summer’s 36-date North American Stadium Tour, performing alongside Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett. The tour kicked off June 16 in Atlanta and runs through September 9 in Las Vegas.
“They’re going to be right at home on this tour,” said Loudwire’s Toni Gonzalez. “They are straight up, fun rock ‘n’ roll, high energy, a little dirty and very reminiscent of when rock reigned supreme.”
Classless Act’s previous tour alongside Dorothy ushered in a slew of positive reviews, with Front Row Perspective writing, “Every now and again you run across a band which you can immediately categorize as ‘I saw them when’ for future conversations. Classless Act is one of those bands!” Or Official Indie who heralded, “Classless Act hit the stage at 100 miles per hour…Watching the high energy act on stage made me think of what it must have been like to have seen Guns N Roses when they first started.”
It’s not often that a band comes around like Classless Act, the L.A.-based quintet who many are forecasting will be the new guard of rock ‘n’ roll, tempting a new generation of fans and giving rock’s faithful a reason to keep believing. They’ve been applauded by bands like Jane’s Addiction and Mötley Crüe, given nods from execs with Live Nation and MTV and are already finding their footing in major international markets barely a year after releasing their first single.
While the music tells its own story, so do the members of the band themselves, hailing from all over the globe, including Hawaii, Los Angeles, Argentina and Dallas. The band, featuring Derek Day (vocals), Dane Pieper (guitar), Griffin Tucker (guitar), Franco Gravante (bass), and Chuck McKissock (drums), first formed in 2018 when the five former strangers met via social media.
The band has also garnered the attention of rock bibles like Loudwire, SPIN, Metal Hammer and Blabbermouth, the latter who said Classless Act “stands ready to carve out a legacy of its own.”

Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard summer tour openers Classless Act are continuing to enjoy a breakthrough year in 2022, today releasing a new self-titled track with the former’s Vince Neil via Better Noise Music today. The song, which was produced and mixed by the band’s bass player Franco Gravante, is set to appear on the soundtrack for THE RETALIATORS, a Better Noise Film already receiving critical acclaim, out this fall. The rising band additionally premiered the video for “Classless Act,” the third installment of their four-part video series. Derek and Vince get a little greasy singing “So sit back, relax, and witness the class of the classless act awry.” Catching the eye of Loudwire and SPIN Magazine with previously released singles “This Is For You (ft. Justin Hawkins of The Darkness)” and “Give It To Me,” the band’s highly anticipated debut albumWelcome To The Showwas made available for pre-order last month, ahead of its June 24 release date. Now that the band has wrapped up their run opening for Dorothy on their “Gifts From The Holy Ghost Tour,” Classless Act is gearing up to open up for Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett on the North American Stadium Tour. The Stadium Tour kicks off in Atlanta on June 16 and ends in Las Vegas on September 9. See below for dates and more information. “Classless Act,” which was produced by the band’s own Franco Gravante, is available to stream and download HERE. Watch the third video of the band’s four-part video series HERE. PRE-ORDERWelcome To Show now. Full tracklisting below.
Lead singer Derek Day had this to say about the new track: “This song really is a musical expression of who we are. It’s a little dirty, maybe kinda sloppy and probably needs a good night’s sleep and a shower, and it absolutely kicks ass. Every night. Just like us.”
When asked what drew him to the song, Vince Neil explained, “What drew me is that these are young guys playing real rock ‘n’ roll, playing their own instruments, all that good stuff that you miss from the last 20+ years. These guys remind me of Mötley Crüe growing up and they definitely rock. Can’t wait to see what happens in the future.”
Directed by John Orphan, “Classless Act” is the third video in a four-part series that loosely follows the band as they set the soundtrack for the misadventures of Farley; an unlucky soul who just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
