Swedish Metal Legends Want To Kill Your Pain

Two Swedish metal legends — strongly rumored to be Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY, BLOODBATH) and Lord K. Philipson (THE PROJECT HATE MCMXCIX, TORTURE DIVISION, GOD AMONG INSECTS, HOUSE OF USHER, LEUKEMIA) — have, under the moniker IBUPROFANE, recorded the one-minute masterpiece “I.P.R.E.N.” It’s their death metal contribution to a competition where the company behind one of Sweden’s most popular painkillers, Ipren, is looking for a new theme song for their next TV commercial. The winner gets SEK 50,000 (approximately $7,225).

DAN SWANÖ To Guest On New BILOCATE Album

Swedish producer/multi-instrumentalist icon Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY, NIGHTINGALE, BLOODBATH, ODYSSEY, PAN-THY-MONIUM) has contributed guest vocals to two tracks on the upcoming third full-length album from Jordanian dark oriental metallers BILOCATE.

Commented BILOCATE vocalist Ramzi Essayed: “From a legendary contributor in the international metal scene flows a legendary voice, adding more to BILOCATE. Not to mention that this collaboration is taking place in two of the most highlighted BILOCATE songs.

Omnium Gatherum’s New Album To Feature Guest Appearances By Dan Swanö, Insomnium’s Sevänen

Finnish melodic death metallers OMNIUM GATHERUM will release their fifth album, “New World Shadows”, via Lifeforce Records on the following dates:

Germany, Austria, Switzerland: February 4, 2011
Sweden, Finland, Hungary: February 9, 2011
Rest Of Europe: February 7, 2011
North America: March 1, 2011

The CD was recorded at Astia Studio 2 in Lappeenranta and OmG Studio in Karhula, Finland with Teemu Aalto, and was mixed and mastered at Unisound Studio in Örebro, Sweden by Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY, HAIL OF BULLETS, NOVEMBERS DOOM). Swanö also contributed clean vocals to two songs while Niilo Sevänen from INSOMNIUM added “a few guest growls.”

Commented OMNIUM GATHERUM vocalist Jukka Pelkonen: “This is the album I’ve been wanting to do for years.” Guitarist Markus Vanhala added, “Here it is, the OMNIUM GATHERUM musical evolution and career of 15 years in metal and this album surely is finally the musical diamond what we were starting to chase once we started this band. Finally every piece of the puzzle are here and the notes on the right places! This is northern death metal without limitations, really melodic and intelligent but still aggressive while quoting lines from prog to even AOR and no less than having also my teenage idol sir Dan Swanö himself singing some stuff here.
