DARKANE Present New Single ‘Quench My Hate’, Introducing New Vocalist Tobiasz Derengowski

Swedish melodic death/thrash metal heavy weights, DARKANE, return with their brand new single “Quench My Hate”, introducing their new vocalist Tobiasz Derengowski, who’s showing his full potential on the song! “Quench My Hate” is out now on all digital streaming providers at:

The band states: “DARKANE would like to welcome our new vocalist Tobiasz Derengowski to the band! We are very excited to start a new chapter together with Tobiasz as he is a very talented singer who can do the old DARKANE songs very well while also contributing with his own style that will fit DARKANE in an excellent way. He can be heard in bands such as Cronic, Halfpace and Crawl back to zero.”

Tobiasz did his first live appearance with DARKANE on July 27th 2024 at Tullakroksfestivalen in Ängelholm, Sweden. He states that he is “very eager to take on the roll as the new DARKANE singer, and while knowing it’s a bit of a challenge, he will do his best to do it right”.

The new track “Quench My Hate” was mixed and mastered by former DARKANE frontman Lawrence Mackrory at Rorysound Studios. Lawrence has been handling the vocal duties for their debut album Rusted Angel (1999), The Sinister Supremacy (2013) and Inhuman Spirits (2022). The band comments: “He’s been a huge part of the DARKANE history and the rest of the members would like to say a huge thank you! We wish him all the best with everything. He is a very talented vocalist, song writer, producer, engineer, mastering wizard and a very good friend. Much love from Peter, Christofer, Jörgen and Klas” 

“Quench My Hate” is about the mental state of a person being left out or being used. How a human might feel after a break-up, or loss of some kind. But it also depicts the person who uses others for their own agenda, exploiting others. The lyrics were inspired by personal experience and the music itself offers a perfect blend of modern metal and the defining sound of DARKANE. It is both relentlessly brutal, but also beautifully melodic!

KING DIAMOND, DARKANE, Ex-TESTAMENT Members To Guest On ENRAGED Album

Holland-based death metallers ENRAGED are mixing their new album, “It’s Your Fear That Feeds Their Power”, with producer Jochem Jacobs (TEXTURES guitarist and owner of Split Second Sound studio). The CD will feature guest guitar solos by James Murphy (TESTAMENT, DEATH, OBITUARY), Andy La Rocque (KING DIAMOND), Christofer Malmström (DARKANE) and Jens Van der Valk (AUTUMN, GOD DETHRONED).

Founded in 1997, ENRAGED released a demo (“Tirade”, 1999), a mini-CD (“Counterblast”, 2001) and a promo (“Resist Or Serve”, 2004), and toured Europe with such bands as GOREFEST, DEICIDE and ARCH ENEMY.

Lineup changes in 2006, unfortunately, caused a major setback for drummer and founding member Douwe Talma. Talma eventually remained as sole member and started recording “It’s Your Fear That Feeds Their Power” back in 2007. A whole bunch of tribulations caused a massive delay to finish all the recordings in the years that followed. But thanks to a lot of time and effort, plus the help of some befriended and skilled session musicians, the recordings were finally finished last summer.

DARKANE Rejoined By Vocalist LAWRENCE MACKRORY

Vocalist Jens Broman has decided to leave Swedish thrashers DARKANE. His replacement is Lawrence Mackrory, who sang on the band’s debut album, “Rusted Angel” (1999), and made a guest appearance on the song “Chaos vs. Order” on DARKANE‘s 2002 effort “Expanding Senses” (2002).

Lawrence will make his live comeback with DARKANE on September 20 in Strasbourg, France at the opening show of the group European headlining tour, with support from DESTINITY and DEVASTATING ENEMY.

Commented Broman: “[My leaving DARKANE] has to do with personal issues. At the moment my life is in a phase where I’m unable to find inspiration for new adventures with DARKANE and therefore it’s best for me to pass on the mic. I will miss you all, the tours, all you dedicated fans and most of all my band mates. But know that DARKANE have found a superb replacement in Lawrence Mackrory. Good luck and stay metal!”

Added Mackrory: “It is with great pleasure I can finally announce my return to DARKANE. I have been waiting for this opportunity to appear and finally the time was right for me to continue what we started 13 years ago. Both Andreas and Jens have done a tremendous job with the band, which will keep me on my toes while performing live, for sure.

“The first time I met Peter, Christofer, Klas and Jörgen was when they arrived at the studio in my hometown in Uppsala to record the debut album, ‘Rusted Angel’. We had only spoken on the phone before and yet there I was, ready to record an album with them. After my departure, we remained good friends but didn’t really see much of each other since we lived in different parts of the country. Now the chemistry between the five of us is more vibrant than ever and I can’t wait to go on tour and perform songs from all five albums.

“The new DARKANE album is already in the works and I can guarantee that all fans, both old and new, will enjoy this record. So far the demos sound awesome, let’s just leave it at that.

I’m looking forward to finally meeting all DARKANE fans on the road.”

Commented DARKANE: “We are all very excited about the future, and are also working hard on the new album. We recently finished building the studio that we’ve been working on over the last 18 months, and we are very satisfied.”

Mackrory‘s new gig with DARKANE with not affect his position in F.K.Ü. and he will remain an active member of both bands.
