The Crypt and Dark Descent Records are proud to announce our partnering with Poland’s HAZAEL to unleash their mighty 1994 Album “THOR”. We are honored to give this overlooked Death metal jewel new life, and for the first time ever, on glorious wax with the full Crypt treatment!
Having been long out of print for years and fetching outrageous prices online, we are proud to offer this amazing piece of history once again, and on glorious wax format. Presented as a double LP set, 200 on classic black wax, 200 on Gold / red marble “Hammer of Thor” Edition and 100 red / black marble “Blood of the Gods” edition (exclusive to Dark Descent Records), mastered from the original analog source files. These LPs will be housed in a in a 350 gram gatefold jacket and will feature the original cover artwork, classic band photos and lyrics.
HYDRA VEIN (UK) Rather Death than False of Faith / The Reptilliad 25th Anniversary DLP (CRYPT 51)
After 25 years, The Crypt is honored to re-introduce the world to one of the greatest thrash albums from the 80’s. Hydra Vein was formed in the spring of 1987 featuring ex-Deathwish members, brothers Damon and Nathan Maddison. Being hailed as the UK’s answer to Slayer and receiving universally positive reviews in the metal press, Hydra Vein yet did not gain the exposure that they deserved. We hope to change that now.
Limited to 500 copies, this amazing piece of history will be presented as a double LP set (200 on classic black wax and 300 on magenta), mastered from the original analog source files. The LPs will be housed in a in a 350 gram gatefold jacket and will feature the original cover artwork, classic band photos, flyers, ads, new liner notes from the band and huge poster featuring the original cover artwork.
Also included in this set for the first time ever on wax is the band’s classic 1987 demo, “The Reptilliad”. Take the world beneath you in the grasp of the iron fist!
MACERATION (Den) A Serenade Of Agony Official LP (CRYPT 52)
The CRYPT is proud to release for the first time ever on vinyl the Danish death metal album classic “A Serenade Of Agony” from MACERATION. Maceration features members from INVOCATOR and DAN SWANÖ (PAN.THY.MONIUM / EDGE OF SANITY) on vocals (under his famous pseudonym Day Disyraah). Originally released in 1991, A Serenade Of Agony was recorded at Redhouse Studio, Odense, Denmark, in September 1991.
This gem is presented with with the original unaltered artwork in a 350 gram sturdy jacket with the cover artwork from the 1992 CD complete with, lyrics, unpublished classic band photos and new liner notes from the band. HELSTAR (US) Nosferatu Official Gatefold LP (CRYPT 53)
Originally released in 1989 and only available on bare bones vinyl in Europe at the time, The CRYPT is proud to release one of my personal all time favorite albums – HELSTAR‘s (US) “Nosferatu!”
Helstar was one of America’s better kept heavy metal secrets throughout the 1980s. Formed in Houston, TX, in 1982, by vocalist James Rivera and guitarist Larry Barragan, Helstar was soon making waves in underground tape-trading networks with their very first demo. Helstar relocated to Los Angeles and signed with Metal Blade. “Nosferatu” is arguably Helstar’s best album. Conceptually, the first half of the album draws upon the vampiric themes associated with the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker.
We offer this amazing gem of classic Speed / Thrash metal as a beautiful gatefold LP with original artwork, lyrics and new liner notes by founding members lead vocalist James Rivera, guitarist Larry Barragan as well as Metal Forces magazine founder / Editor Bernard Doe! 200 on black wax and 200 on blood red wax!
DECOLLATION (Liers in Wait / Grotesque) (Swe) CURSED LANDS Official Gatefold LP (CRYPT 54)
In cooperation with Listenable records, After 5 long years, we are finally ready to to unleash for the first time ever on vinyl, the 1992 debut and only recording from Swedish Death metal super group DECOLLATION! An obscure gem of unorthodox Death metal featuring Kristian Wåhlin and Johan Österberg (Liers in Wait / Grotesque) as well as Thomas Johansson (Ceremonial Oath / Macabre End).
Decollation was a shortlived death metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden formed in early 1991 by schoolmates Johan (guitar / vocals), Thomas (bass) and Lars (drums). Soon after inception Niclas joined on keyboards adding a more ambient dimension to their blend of thrashinfused, Florida style death metal. After a couple of shows Lars was replaced by a friend of the band, Kristian.
In February 1992 the band entered Sunlight Studios with producer Tomas Skogsberg in order to record 4 songs. Shortly after the recording the band started dissolving. In the fall of 1992 Listenable Records picked up the Sunlight Studios recording, eventually releasing it on cd as “Cursed Lands” in June 1993.
This long overdue release will be presented in a sturdy 350 gram gatefold jacket featuring the original intended artwork from Kristian Wåhlin, with unpublished band photos and layout by Samual Durling who has work with the band members doing layouts for over 20 years.
