Hello everyone! This is Degradead speaking from the the capital of Sweden, Stockholm. We are currently in the process of preparing our 4th coming studio album ”The Monster Within” and we need your help! In order for us to make it across seas and reach new hights after the recording we need to gather our loyal metalheads and reach out to new ones.

How do we do this!?

We are going to prepare a almost worldwide network of Degradead street teams that will aim to spread the music, information, thoughts and most importantly joy through out the globe. This project will directly be associated with the band itself.

We are currently looking for the so called ”National Street Team Leader/s” to build up a base to get this project under way.

The ”National Street Team Leader/s main task is to be the main contact person / leader for the Nations street team which is a big job and carries ALOT of responsibility therefore we are looking for persons that are really into Degradead and who can take on this job with flair and love for the band. More info will be provided if you are interested. The National Street Team leader must be able to speak English because communication between us all is VITAL!

The spring has come and everything is heading the right way!

Right now I´m feeling damn fine! The sun is shining, the weather is warm and spring is coming. At the moment I´m watching as my brother is oiling a deck … I try to help as much as I can – hehe.

We are in a preliminary phase with a new collaboration with a new promotion and booking company. We met them at an industry meeting. They are a known and big company in Sweden and the Nordic countries. They are relatively new, and we are one of the first bands they work with. So this feels exciting!

The album-cover process is moving slowly but forward. We have been changing it several times. It has kept on and messing much with the color theme and combinations, and there is always someone who has been unhappy, but now it has dissolved! We are also working with a new slogan and the logo that is basically finished. These will be released when the new single is out! It’s so exciting! The video will be fucking great because it´s me that is working on it. I´ve tried to think outside the box and this is a fucking different video. From the start it became my task. I have had the idea for a long time and everyone thought it was a really good idea when I mentioned it to the guys!

The most fun parts right now is all the planning around the video and single release, our new partnership with the new promotional company, and I love the excitement around it all because we do not really know how it will go and it’s so damn fun!

My main focus right now is on the music video. It feels like a lot of responsibility, a video can last forever and many people will see it, it´s almost as big as planning an album, I think.

Spring feelings… I´m having the spring-jitters and it feels great! Now is the time to start looking at lot of fun things to do. My cousin from the Bahamas came last week so we’re going to eat dinner this evening and just relax and have fun. When the video is finished the band will be totally ready to go out and play. Our first gig this spring/summer will be in i Gamleby West Bay Heaven and Hell Festival.

We have been really busy for a while now, so we have not posted in a long time. We have postponed the release date of our album due to promotion, the music video, etc. We feel that we want to put more focus on getting single and video out first. We’ve put a lot of time planning, we do not want to do anything in a rush, but do it properly! Looking for perfection.

Due to reasons within the band we have decided to move up the Release date for the new album. It is really hard for us to keep this monster away from you guys for so long!

Now to the big news of the day! During January 14th – February 02nd we recorded our 4th coming studio album in Skara and studio Panic Room together with the producer Thomas ”Plec” Johansson. This is our first album together with our new drummer Amit Mohla. This album ended up being the best Degradead album so far! More dynamic, more melodic, more thrashy, more of everything! The album will be Titled “The Monster Within” and the monster will be let free on August 23rd this year. Thank you guys for being so patient!

Finally, the new Degradead album is mastered and is now uploading after three weeks of production…

It has been great going back to the roots even on this one. No drum triggers or sample replacements used whatsoever which is otherwise so commonplace in todays metal productions. We did it the hard way with getting the right sounds from the start and having Amit actually playing the parts until we got the takes we needed, tuning the drums in between takes, switching snares for different songs etc…

No plugins were used in the process either other than for very surgical tasks and special FX. All other processing are real chambers, hardware reverbs, delays, compression and EQ.

Five times more work, but five times more fun and inspiring plus it’s five times more fun to listen to !!

Heading home after a hard day at work..
Right now I´m really looking forward to the weekend when I´m gonna train some thai boxing and drink a few beers. Only the finer stuff.  Some czech or Belgian beer, I think.

After the album was finished I haven´t been listening to it that much. Not much at all actually. I think it is nice with a little distance after such an intense time in the studio.

Now it’s a lot going on, the album-cover that everyone should be happy with, preparing a release-party and other fun stuff. We are working with everything that has to do with the upcoming release.

We have not decided to what song a video is going to be made, but we have written a really good story to it.. Things are moving forward. It is Miche that is ”in charge” of the recording of the video.

We will soon start up a release party, there is a lot to prepare. We are going to have a kind of pre-sale.. When this will be we don´t know yet. We also need new merchandise for the album. Some good looking t-shirts and stuff.

I´m also looking forward to the album-release, and everything that this includes.

I am thinking a lot of the cover, about how it will look like .. We have a new, very exciting motif. We are working a lot on the design right now. It’s damn important for it to be just right.
