Degradead is ready for the the world. The question is whether the world is ready for Degradead…?

I´m feeling great! On my way to pick up Micke to head down to the studio in Skara for another recording session.

The recordings are going fucking great. I was a bit nervous before we started, but instead of taking it easy, we just went on with it. Hardcore. This is the most advanced album for Degradead so far. I would describe the sound like this: Old school, black album-inspired (Metallica) .. A little bit rawer and heavier. The guitar amplifiers are essentially the same sound as mentioned album.

Acoustic drums is one new thing that we´ve added.. And we have tried another exciting element that I can´t talk about yet.. But this is something TOTALLY new and I am very excited to see and hear the reactions from you, our audience. This is one of the things that I look forward to the most. I have noticed that people are excited about the new album… Many new Facebook likes is one of the factors that imply this.

We are shortly going to announce a bunch of gigs here in Sweden this year. And there´s gonna be a lot of new stuff forward spring. Right now, the main focus is on the new album, and everything that happens after the recordings. Release parties, new merch and lots of other fun stuff. And it will happen a lot of new stuff forward spring. So much is happening right now we are planning the summer with (possibly) many festivals.

The Overkill-tour was awesome! It was fun to ride with such legendary musicians as Overkill themselves. The tour bus was a lot of fun. And in Russia it was just our audience. Crazy! Even wilder than the last time we visited.

Right now I’m looking forward to this albumrelease, lots and lots that will hopefully happen, that is not clear yet. There is going to be gigs around the world, more abroad than in Sweden. We are now working on structure around the album and marketing. Spending a lot of time in the studio.

Amit (our awesome drummer) has really gotten into the band and proved his worth. which is very nice! He feels like a natural part of Degradead, and he has come with a lot of new ideas, new influences, that has affected us as a band in a positive way.

DEGRADEAD’s International Blog Is Back, Studio Update, Part 1

A morning in the studio…
We are just about getting started on recording the bass for all the new songs here in the studio which is located in Skara. After a long time away from home, touring, it feels really nice to be back in Sweden.

To sum things up for those who couldn´t be there: We did the Overkill-tour in Europe and were there for about 20 days, and then in Russia for 10 days. Since we´ve been in Russia before we had a feeling about how it was going to be. Totally awesome! Every gig we did was crowded and the people there had really been expecting us. It is really fun when people come up to you with a very limited edition of one of our CD´s that you don´t even have in your own CD-collection. Really hardcore fans. Those CD´s were fun to sign.

Recently, we have worked a lot with our new songs. Micke has done most of the songwriting job and all of us have been rehearsing for the new recordings. There is also a lot of work with pre-productions at home. We´ve almost gotten half-way on the new album (which feels really nice) and we´re going to start recording my guitar on Monday. Today Anders is starting to record bass and then continuing on Monday.

The Overkill-tour was one of the highlights. We visited Polen for the first time and our fans there were almost as crazy as the ones in Russia! They just wanted more!
Otherwise it was a fairly even tour, that went equally good every day. It was the first time for us in England and Italy and many other cool countries.

Shortly we will announce the album cover and title, which of course feels really exciting and we hope you all will enjoy it. This album is a bit different from our others. It has very much soul. A lot of feelings. I feel that we have improved a lot these past months. This album feels really genuine. It is our first album with completely acoustic drums.
Our inspiration for this album comes from life itself.

Swedish death metallers DEGRADEAD entered the studio last Monday, on January 14th, to record their new album,  the band’s drummer Amit Mohla has issued today the following studio update:

Hey everyone! The drums are officially DONE! Just finished laying down the last drum track to a VERY special song! This song makes me feel the pain in me that i just want to let out. 

Plec ( Producer/Sound Engineer ) and I  found a GREAT (Killer) sound for the drums, kinda sounds like the perfect drumkit from hell..  This band has reached a new level and this album is going to blow your mind!

Swedish death metallers DEGRADEAD have checked in with the following update:

A BIG congratulations to our vocalist and frontman Mikael Sehlin for getting the spot as Engels new vocalist! We are really happy for you and wish you all the best with this project.

To all of you who have been asking us, Mikael is still our vocalist and he is still 100 % dedicated to Degradead and this will not affect Degradead. The recordings of our forth coming studio album will begin on Monday January 14th.

World domination is still on the map and a new Monster will be released into this world starting Monday.

Recently Swedish metallers ENGEL recruited Mikael Sehlin (DEGRADEAD) as their new singer, who made his debut with the band at Gothenburg Sound Festival on Friday January 4th. Check out below the fan filmed video footage.

ENGEL Recruits DEGRADEAD Singer

Swedish metallers ENGEL have recruited Mikael Sehlin (DEGRADEAD) as their new singer.

Sehlin (pictured below) made his live debut with ENGEL earlier tonight (Friday, January 4) at the Gothenburg Sound Festival at Trädgårn in Gothenburg, Sweden.

ENGEL parted ways with singer Magnus “Mangan” Klavborn in November and recruited Lenne (ex-TWELVESTEP) as his temporary replacement. In a statement announcing his departure from the group, Klavborn said: “I’m not going to rant about the who’s and why’s, just say goodbye.” He added: “I have had a lot of good times and I am sad to leave it behind, but that’s how it goes sometimes. It’s not a farewell forever; I’m not going to quit music.”

ENGEL‘s latest album, “Blood Of Saints”, entered the official chart in Sweden at position No. 60. Released on May 18, 2012 via Season Of Mist, the CD was recorded at Antfarm studios in Aabyhøj, Denmark. According to the group, the album is “a good mixture between both [previous ENGEL efforts] ‘Threnody’ [2010] and ‘Absolute Design’ [2007], but with some new angles as well!”

DEGRADEAD Announces New Drummer

Stockholm, Sweden-based melodic death metallers DEGRADEAD have announced the addition of drummer Amit Mohla (RAID) to the group’s ranks.

Commented Mohla: “It’s really an honor to share thoughts, rehearsal studio, stage, friendship and the world with a band that I’ve heard so much about in the Swedish rock scene.

“Being a band member in DEGRADEAD is a big step in my life and, of course, my music career.

“When we played together at the first audition, I felt it clicked right away between us, which turned out to be a beginning of a new chapter in the history of DEGRADEAD.

“To play music that is both heavy, hard and creative was one of the thousand reasons that made me apply for the DEGRADEAD role. Diversity, music without boundaries were others.

“It will be very interesting to hear how the next album will turn out with a new band member, new influences and a new sound. I’m really looking forward to 2013 when the new album will be released and you’ll get to know me a bit better!

“Now when the auditions have ended and the band is complete again, hard work is expected from everyone involved in the DEGRADEAD family. The gigs are booked and the set list is written. Now we have to rehearse a lot for the Killfest Tour, Russia tour and the gigs in Sweden. There is so much to do in a short amount of time. This is what I signed up for!”
