“Follow The Light That Blinds” is about shedding the burden of your past and that it doesn’t have to define your future, as well as broadening your horizons and taking on new challenges!” Musically, the number is carried by melodies and an energy that has not been seen before in a Deserted Fear song and a main riff that will stay in your head forever, so watch out! With this in mind, fire away and follow the light that blinds!”

German Melodic Death Metal trio DESERTED FEAR release the second single “Reborn Paradise” taken off their upcoming release “Doomsday”.
Once again Mirko Witzki took over the duties for filming, directing and editing this fantastic new video clip. The video shoot was supported by Deutsch-Deutsches Museum Mödlareuth, providing the perfect scenery for a song that deals with a serious issue of the German past.
DESERTED FEAR comment:
“Today we release ‘Reborn Paradise’, another new song from our album ‘Doomsday’, which will be released on March 4th, 2022. For the video shoot we went to a time that seems to be long forgotten, but should never be forgotten!”
With “Part Of The End” DESERTED FEAR present the first single and video from their upcoming album “Doomsday”, which will be released on March 4th, 2022, via Century Media Records.
For the video shoot they hired the talented Mirko Witzki from Witzki Visions www.witzki.vision who filmed and directed the clip for “Part Of The End”, which you can check out HERE:
DESERTED FEAR commented about the experience they made while shooting the video:
Fabian: “What a cool video shoot! The first single of an album is always something special and so we once again went on an adventure that will definitely stay in our memories. The day in the mine was not only a lot of fun, but also made you think.”
Simon: “The reference to the everyday life of these workers has been gradually slipping into oblivion in Western society since the beginning of the 21st century. We can no longer imagine the catastrophic conditions under which people still work in Asia and the global South to achieve our prosperity.”
Mahne: “Working in the mines was dangerous and the miners had to be able to rely on each other, because sometimes their lives depended on each other. It was all the more interesting to see how the miners were still on fire for mining and the effort they put into volunteering at the Recklinghausen training mine. The way everyone helped during the shoot was also a living example of the cohesion of old miners!”
DESERTED FEAR’s brand-new masterpiece was recorded, mixed and mastered by the band’s very own Fabian Hildebrandt at Eisensound Studio and “Doomsday” consists of two intro tracks and nine powerful melodic death songs with the following track-listing:
Intro
Part Of The End
Idols Of Triumph
Follow The Light That Blinds
Fall From Grace
At Its End
Reborn Paradise
The One Desire
Call Of Emptiness
Voices Of Fire
Doomsday

By releasing two new tracks – “Funeral Of The Earth” and “Artifacts Of The Black Rain”, a cover of the classic In Flames song – German melodic death metal force DESERTED FEAR already gave a promising foretaste of what to expect from their next full-length album, which can now proudly be announced.
Entitled “Doomsday”, it marks the group’s fifth studio album, and it was recorded, mixed and mastered by DESERTED FEAR guitarist Fabian Hildebrandt at Eisensound Studio and will be released on March 4th, 2022, via Century Media Records, with a pre-order campaign starting on December 17th, when a first single and video for the album will also be debuted.
DESERTED FEAR checked in with the following comments about “Doomsday”:
Simon: “Seemingly driven by the frustration of the never-ending forced break, we have been working on new songs for the last 1,5 years and recorded them in the last weeks. It’s hard to believe that we were completely disillusioned and empty-handed in the middle of last year and now we’re holding our most varied and mature record to date in our hands.”
Fabian: “We recorded again at my Eisensound Studio and this time I also did the mixing and mastering myself. The creative freedom on this album was greater than ever, because we could still implement small details and ideas we came up with during mixing. A good preview of what’s to come is given by our recently released 7inch “Funeral Of The Earth”, whose mix was also a perfect starting point for the album sound, on which I was able to add a few more percent.”
Manuel: “The album artwork was done by Rio Krisma and he realized our concept perfectly. “Doomsday” is not about the monster created in Superman whose only goal is the destruction of other life forms, but humanity seems to be on its way there and also destroying itself. We have a fucking problem, there’s a lot going wrong socially too and as artists we want to bring attention to it.”

With “Artifacts Of The Black Rain”, German Death Metallers DESERTED FEAR launch a next new digital single after the recent release of “Funeral Of The Earth”.
Originally written and released by Swedish melodic death metal pioneers In Flames on their 1996’s album “The Jester Race”, the track “Artifacts Of The Black Rain” was now covered by DESERTED FEAR and was also featured as B-Side on the band’s exclusive, limited (500x copies) 7inch, which was recorded, mixed and mastered by DESERTED FEAR’s own Fabian Hildebrandt at Eisensound Studio.
DESERTED FEAR commented about the decision to pick this classic tune:
“For the B-Side of the EP we wanted to cover a song from another band, something we did live all the time in our early days because we didn’t have enough own songs to play a full set, haha. And in the studio we also didn’t cover a song in a long time!”, Fabian states.
Further Mahne comments, “We chose an old In Flames song, because not only for us, but also for many other bands our age, the early In Flames albums were very influential and we learned a lot from them, especially on the guitar!”
DESERTED FEAR’s version of “Artifacts Of The Black Rain” is available on all digital platforms as of today.

“Funeral Of The Earth”, which was recorded, mixed and mastered by Fabian Hildebrandt at Eisensound, is now available on all digital outlets and a video created by Vollvincent / vollvincent.com can be watched HERE.
An exclusive, limited (500x copies) 7inch release of “Funeral Of The Earth” is now also available through the band’s official webstore, featuring a cover version of “Artifacts Of The Black Rain”, originally by In Flames, as B-Side. Get it HERE.
The band comments about “Funeral Of The Earth” as follows:
“After a far too long forced break, it was time to finally get off our asses again. A positive sideeffect is definitely that it was possible to gain complete distance for a while and rekindle the fire! Thelast months we were very productive and we are happy to finally release something new again. The digital single and 7inch release is our restart into the next chapter of DESERTED FEAR!”, says Fabian.
“When the idea came up to release a single, there were already several songs to choose fromas a demo. Finally the choice fell on “Funeral Of The Earth”, because the title unfortunately could notbe more current”, Manuel comments.
Further stated Simon, “In keeping with the artwork, the limited edition of 500 7inches supports a reforestation project in Mecklenburg and the records are made from recycled and shredded vinyl, making each 7inch unique in terms of color. That nowadays with the help of the pressing plant something like this can be realized, makes us very happy!”
And adding about the video clip, the band’s longtime collaborator and videographer Vollvincent said the following: “We head towards a dramatic future. No! We run. In “Funeral Of The Earth” DESERTED FEAR show the escape from the unstoppable.”
