16.09.2013 Detroit, MI @ The Detroit Pub
We arrived at “Detroit Bar” pretty late – something around 5 PM. We decided to skip a soundcheck. Ray went to a hotel and promised to be back at 2AM. Spider went for a jog by some local lake 😉 The club was really tight with no backstage but with kind of family atmosphere. Crowd was pretty dead tonight. Typical “Monday show”, like Peter said. It was hard to move those people. I could as well focus on a screen hanging just in front of the stage and watch local football. But f**k NO! I was “fighting” on stage and my t-shirt was like a wet rag after our performance. The guys from other bands started to call me “a caveman”. It allegedly has some positive connotations 😉 Then we slammed a few beers in a bar next door. Some of us even fell in love 😉 Me and Spider gobbled up a big burger with french fries. It was really awful but turned into eatable after we added some typical Polish sour pickles (a gift from “Ciapek”.. THX Bro!). A couple of minutes after 2 AM I saw Ray coming. he started the engine and we were on our way to New York. I spent the rest of the night at an afterparty with Aaron, Jack and the rest of Sacrificial Slaughter guys in the bus. The guys proved to have different understanding about afterparties. They were watching “Breaking Bad” on TV for a hundreth time and listening to brutal Death Metal in the same time 😉 It tired me pretty soon so I turned in. See You in NY !!!
Everybody seems to hate this city. Shitty clubs, bad reputation, not really good local scene… This time we played on the outskirts, though. Pretty neighborhood (lookin’ like New Jersey), nice people. The club was realy tight – max 100 capacity. It was more appropriate for watching football on TV than doing shows. All in all, we had Monday so no one was expecting spectacular crowds. And so it was: maybe 50-60 people, more passive than active (such a contrast to the last show in Chicago). We were playing on full throttle, though… maybe just one song shorter. I could barely breath because of my stuffed nose and sinuses and it was not comfort at all to me. After the show I read a few pages of Willy Fey’s book, listened few songs from Sabbath “13” album and… went asleep. It is a long way to New York….

Stage in Detroit
18.09.2013 Wilmington, DE @ Mojo 13
The club was quite small. But at least there was a backstage area. There were even toilets and a broken shower 😉 Before our tour package hit the stage, there was some local gig first. The sound was much better then yesterday (it would be hard to get worse). We started pretty late – about mignight. The crowd stayed strong, though. Respect! We even played “God is dead” for encore. We had few beers after the show and headed to hotel, took shower and went for some shopping. Then we continued our chat about “life” till 6-7 AM. Around 9 am we set for the further conquest of the States 🙂
