DISTANT’s new single and video, “Rat Torture”, is a critical reflection on our daily digital lives. “‘Rat Torture ’ is about a suffocating descend into a world where the illusion of freedom is maintained by the glowing screens and empty validation. The song paints humanity as willing prisoners, rats in a cage they worship. Every scroll is a mechanized ritual where identity is performed instead of lived. While there might be still human beneath the glow, it’s too numb to break free”, says the band.
DISTANT are keeping things busy and their grim, ultra-heavy Deathcore on the road. After already touring Europe with Sylosis they just finished another US run including several shows with In Flames and Thrown.
The band is also due to play multiple festivals this summer:
Jun. 18–21, 26 (BE) Dessel – Graspop Metal Meeting Jun. 24, 26 (CZ) Pilsen – Basinfire Festival Jun. 26–27, 26 (DE) Leipzig – Impericon Festival Jun. 27, 26 (NL) Ysselsteyn – Jera On Air Jul. 4, 26 (ES) Viveiro – Resurrection Fest Oct. 31, 26 (DE) Göppingen – Core Fest
“Spirit” is one of DISTANT’s most personal releases to date. The band elaborates: “Inspired by a real life stabbing of a family member at a clinic called Spirit, the track channels grief, shock, and the uncomfortable human surge of rage and revenge that follows trauma. It is raw emotion turned into relentless sound and not supposed to glorify violence, but it is meant to confront it and ultimately deal with its traumatizing aftermath.” The song and video are both featuring the vocals from Tyler Beam of deathcore heavyweights The Last Ten Seconds Of Life.

DISTANT has become one of the prominent faces of European Deathcore. Melding together brutal death metal, slam, noise and beatdown with a hyper-dissonant orchestra of impending doom, they’ve come eons since their origins as metalcore obsessed friends in Rotterdam and Bratislava.
After releasing “Desolation” in October the Netherlands Dutch/Slovakian downtempo/deathcore band DISTANT are dropping a new single, “Nothing Left To Hate”. Check out the video below.
The band comments: “’Nothing Left To Hate’ is Distant at full destructive force — thicker riffs, deeper grooves, and a raw dive into self-destruction and chaos. The track is made for circle-pits, rage workouts, and letting the anger out.”
The single lands right before DISTANT join Sylosis for a massive EU tour starting January 16, placing the band in front of thousands of new fans across Europe.
In the past two months DISTANT played the Evisceratour with Ingested and Ov Sulfur in the USA and Canada as well as their own Dutch Xmas Special with Cabal and local supports to help their native scene.

Just a few days prior to starting another brutal touring cycle Dutch/Slovakian downtempo/deathcore band DISTANT are releasing a new song and video for “Desolation” (edit & camera: Bart Sperling) that comes with a trigger warning – viewer discretion is advised.
The band comments: “’Desolation’ marks the most aggressive and intense chapter of our sound to date. After months of reinventing our songwriting approach, we built a brand-new digital guitar amp from the ground up and handled the entire mix and master ourselves to push our sound to the limit. The result is raw, heavy, and uncompromising, a perfect vessel for lyrics that channel our rage against the corruption, greed, and systemic misconduct poisoning this world. It’s pure passion and aggression, captured in its most unfiltered form.”

Dutch/Slovakian downtempo/deathcore band DISTANT have released “Acolytes Of Damnation” featuring the unique vocals of Alex Erian of the genre defining Despised Icon. The track is taken from “Tsukuyomi: The Origin”, which was released on November 22nd. This reimagined track from DISTANT’s debut EP, “Tsukuyomi”, showcases the band’s evolution, blending their raw origins with their current, refined sonic assault. The video was directed by Pavel Trebukhin who already brought you the visuals for “The Undying”, check out “Acolytes Of Damnation” below.
The band comments: “’Acolytes of Damnation’ stands as a cornerstone of ‘Tsukuyomi: Origins’, offering fans a tantalizing glimpse into our most ambitious work to date.”
In honor of their 10-year anniversary as a band DISTANT are presenting “Tsukuyomi: The Origin”, an expanded and reimagined version of their debut EP, “Tsukuyomi.” The release features seven brand new tracks alongside six revamped versions of songs, weaving a comprehensive tale that predates Tyrannt’s conquest through the universe. “Tsukuyomi: The Origin” not only delves into DISTANT’s origins but also explores the lore behind their lyrics. It isn’t a standard remaster or simple rerecording, but the band overhauled the original songs to reflect their current sound and vision, ensuring the tracks get the attention they deserve. Expect new features (Matthew K Heafy, Alex Erian of Despised Icon, David Simonich of Signs Of The Swarm and Travis Worland of Enterprise Earth) and a seamless blend of fresh and re-recorded tracks.
DISTANT just wrapped up a North American tour with Fit For An Autopsy, Bodysnatcher, Sylosis and Judiciary. They will kick off the new year with Enterprise Earth, The Last Ten Seconds Of Life and Harbinger.
