“DO OR DIE” is a fast opening song and the title track of the album and it features all Wishing Well’s trademark elements: Dark, raspy vocals by Rafael Castillo, roaring distorted Hammond organ by Arto Teppo, thundering drums by Juha Kivikanto, punchy and bold bass lines by Rick Becker and raw yet melodic guitars by Anssi Korkiakoski.
The song was written by Anssi Korkiakoski who says: “The song is about what we feel at the moment as a band. The lyrics speak for itself. We do this seriously tongue-in-cheek, we know what we doing and it’s time to make things happen.”
The video was shot at On The Rocks Club in Helsinki and it features notorious rock manager Mike “Major” Mondeo, who wanted the band to organize an audition in order to sign a management deal with his management company. No contract was signed and the band has not heard from the manager since.
The forthcoming album is Wishing Well’s third and the second to feature Chilean Rafael Castillo on vocals. Their previous albums “Chasing Rainbows” (2016) and “Rat Race” (2018), both on Inverse Records, got very positive reaction among hard rock and metal fans around the world and the band toured Finland with Doogie White, Alcatrazz and Tank plus played festivals and clubs.
Wishing Well will play album release gig at On The Rocks, Helsinki, on 20 March. In April the band will play a mini tour in Finland with UK based TANK.

Sweden’s hottest metal export is just finishing their European arena tour with SABATON and are ready to present a very special Valentine’s Day gift: AMARANTHE spice up the day with a brand-new song featuring Angela Gossow, the former singer of ARCH ENEMY!
“Do Or Die” shows AMARANTHE’s heavier side and comes with a dystopian horror video filmed in Spain, featuring Fardou Keuning‘s stunning creatures.
Watch the video here:
Angela Gossow about the breathtaking collaboration sincerely spicing up your Valentine’s Day: “It was thrilling to join AMARANTHE for a more extreme track and shooting a cutting edge video for it! This is no cozy studio performance, but real ice cold winds, sewages, cadavers and pouring rain – the reality we live in, the devastating legacy we leave to our future generations. Time to wake up, turn – and bang – some heads! Watch out for these guys and killer lady, they are going to crush you this year with a new album and some heavy touring!!!”
Guitarist Olof Mörck states, “While AMARANTHE’smusic is often uplifting, energetic and positive, sooner or later everyone needs to deal with the obvious fact that the world is literally crumbling around us – and it is crumbling fast, thanks to the short sighted abuse of our common Mother Earth! We talked to legendary Angela Gossow of ARCH ENEMY fame to do an entire package of a video and a song, outside of any normal album cycle, and let our different perspectives on metal collide in a massive explosion; and it resulted in Do or Die! Together with Overbeck Media who shot the video, we delivered something really quite special, and Angela brings in a fresh strength to the trademark AMARANTHE sound that is sure to resound all across the metal world! Death and Fire!!!”
It’s been a busy week for MACHINE HEAD. The Bay Area titans announced their “An Evening With” tour for Winter 2020, featuring three hours and two sets, on Monday.
Today, the band dropped the video for the new song ‘Do or Die’ through Imperium Recordings x Nuclear Blast. Watch and listen here:
‘Do or Die’ was produced by MACHINE HEAD singer/guitarist Robb Flynn and Zack Ohren (FALLUJAH, ALL SHALL PERISH) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, CA. It was mixed by Russ Russell (AT THE GATES, NAPALM DEATH, SIKTH) at Parlour Studios, UK.
“‘Do or Die’ is three minutes and 45 seconds of unadulterated, neanderthal rage. FUCK EVERYONE!,” says frontman Flynn.
Bassist Jared MacEachern concurs, saying, “I’m blown away at how this video turned out. I was fucking pumped up after my first viewing. A pissed off song deserves a pissed off video! It’s a no-holds-barred, in-your-face, ‘fuck off’ kinda song… Ragers rejoice!“
Carlos Cruz (WARBRINGER, POWER TRIP) played drums on the track and states, “‘Do or Die’ is by far the most extreme song in the MACHINE HEAD catalog.”
The upcoming Winter 2020 tour of the U.S. and Canada is going to be nothing short of epic. There band will be celebrating theBurn My Eyes25th Anniversary on the heels of what is already shaping up to be one of the monster European/UK tours of 2019.
Building on their wildly popular ‘Evening With…’ format, these not-to-be-missed shows will be a three-hour musical extravaganza, comprised of two parts:
Part I– will feature a battery of MACHINE HEAD’s modern classics, such as ‘Imperium,’‘Halo,’ ‘Ten Ton Hammer’ and, ‘The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears,’ featuring frontman/guitarist Robb Flynn and bassist Jared MacEachern performing alongside two, soon-to-be-announced ragers on guitar and drums.
Part II– will feature the Bay Area titan’s classic debut album, “Burn My Eyes” played in its entirety for the first time ever. And if somehow this historical event could not be monumental enough, taking the stage for this part of the set will be “Burn My Eyes”-era alumni and MACHINE HEAD’s original drummer Chris Kontos and original guitarist, Logan Mader.
MacEachern states,“Don’t you dare miss this special moment in musical history, as we pay 25 years of tribute to “Burn My Eyes”. The band is sounding tight as ever and the spirits are high. Come relive your adolescent angst and rage with MACHINE HEAD.“
New shredder Kiełtyka shares his new bandmates enthusiasm, sayin, “It’s a huge privilege to be a part of this amazing tour. #BurnMyEyes25 tour reaches more and more places. After rehearsals and pre-production in Germany, I can confirm there is no way you can miss out on this tour.”
And new skins-pounder Matt Alston says, “I’m so stoked to be part of the Burn My Eyes 25th Anniversary Tour. Being on stage with Robb, Jared, and Vogg, performing songs I grew up listening to and in front of thousands of Head Cases is just amazing. AND then being able to have my face melted by the Burn My Eyes show…it just doesn’t get much better than that.”
