San Diego’s heavy psych rock trio EARTHLESS will reissue their widely acclaimed and massively influential first 3 albums, “Sonic Prayer,” “Rhythms from a Cosmic Sky” and “From the Ages” via Nuclear Blast on January 14th, 2022. The remastered versions will be available digitally and on limited edition vinyl, cassette and CD.
The trio recently completed work on their 6th album that’s due out in 2022.
San Diego-based heavy psych rock trio EARTHLESS have released a new record, “Live In The Mojave Desert,” today via Nuclear Blast (digital) and Giant Rock Records (physical). Inspired by Pink Floyd’s “Live at Pompeil,” the album was recorded live and filmed throughout day and night in the natural amphitheater of California’s Mojave Desert.
“Having the opportunity to set up out in the desert and play how we do was one of the best experiences ever actually,” says EARTHLESS drummer Mario Rubalcaba. “Adding to it the Mad Alchemy liquid lights and the surroundings made for a very satisfying day/night of jamming. Thankful for Giant Rock Records preserving the night by filming and recording this. I hope people can enjoy the release as much as we did doing it.”

“In October 2020 we filmed and recorded five bands in four days, deep in the deep sand and iconic rocks of the desert,” shares LIVE IN THE MOJAVE DESERT producer RYAN JONES. “It was a major undertaking to bring this many people and this much gear out to a very remote desert location. Including the bands, we had 25 people onsite daily. With only one road in, everyone and all the gear had to come up a half mile long hill of deep sand–30 miles from nowhere. We had to hire local desert guys with huge 4×4 pickups to help. The Mad Alchemy Liquid Light Show projected on a four-story high, double pyramid of boulders and we had a crack squad of filmmakers, photographers and recording engineers there to capture it all. It was insane, but it was worth it to see our favorite bands play again!”
Nuclear Blast Entertainment is pleased to announce the worldwide signing of seminal psychedelic rock trio, EARTHLESS! The band – Isaiah Mitchell (vocals/guitar), Mike Eginton (bass) and Mario Rubalcaba (drums) – recently finished recording their new album with Dave Catching (EAGLES OF DEATH METAL) at Rancho de la Luna in Joshua Tree, CA, and took a moment to offer a few words about their upcoming album and new partnership.
“EARTHLESS is beyond stoked to join a label that has kept its independence and vision so strong for 30 years,” commented drummer Mario Rubalcaba. “It’s crazy to think that I’ve bought Nuclear Blast releases since I was still in my teens. We are psyched to put out yet another extension of ideas, sounds and the long-going chemistry that this band has forged over the years. There are some new inspired paths musically and vocally on this next album and we are very excited to see it released on Nuclear Blast.”
“The vibe out at Rancho is one that gels very naturally for EARTHLESS and lends itself to get creative very comfortably,” continues Rubalcaba. “You have nothing else out there to do except absorb the heat, stare at the stars and get in the zone! Dave and I first started talking about doing this project together a few years ago now and it was great to finally make it happen.”
Adds guitarist Isaiah Mitchell:
“Dave was a great person to be around while making this record. Very cool dude. And the studio itself is like a candy store: you want to try everything because there’s so much great gear.”
EARTHLESS will release their 4th full-length studio album in early 2018. More details to be announced shortly. Until then, the band will play some shows on their upcoming headlining run this fall in the USA.
