Sweden’s ECLIPSE have released their new single, ‘Driving One Of Your Cars’, on all digital music services! Stream or download HERE.

Originally released and recorded by singer-songwriter Lisa Miskovsky, ‘Driving One of Your Cars’ was a huge hit in Sweden in the spring of 2001. The band premiered their cover of the song during their “ECLIPSE LIVE FROM THE QUARANTINE” performance this past Wednesday and now the studio version is available everywhere for you to hear.
“I clearly remember the first time I heard this song! I was in my car (go figure, right?) in Stockholm and the song came on the radio. I actually had to pull over to just stop and listen because I thought it was such a great tune,” says Eclipse singer Erik Martensson.
Martensson continues, “I actually got to perform the song with Lisa some 10 years after I first heard it, which was really cool, and we’ve been talking about recording it ever since. It’s just one of those songs that get stuck in your head. It’s been in mine for almost 20 years now. Once we started toying around with it, it very quickly started to feel like “our” song. I’m certain Eclipse fans who may not have heard the original version could easily think that it’s an Eclipse composition. And then 20 years from now, I hope there’s a new band around who can’t get that old Eclipse song out of their head and decide to cover it. I’ll sit in on backing vocals.”
Swedish innovative blackened death metallers DIABOLICAL are set to release their new album “Eclipse” on February 15th, watch below the first two songs from the album. Furthermore the band will be touring Europe with SEPTICFLESH and KRISIUN in March/April.
Stated the band: “2019 is looking to be a defining year for Diabolical. Our new album “Eclipse” will be released on February 15. It’s been a long and hard process and soon we will finally be able to share it with you all. In March/April we are touring five weeks with SEPTICFLESH and KRISIUN covering most of Europe, and after that we are looking to do even more shows. We are very much looking forward to play new songs for you and share thoughts and drinks with many of you during our travels throughout Europe. Fabulam novam scribemus vivimusque!”
More than twenty years after their formation in northern Sweden, innovative blackened death metallers DIABOLICAL proves to be more vital than ever and puts forth “Eclipse”, a concept album reflecting on the dark side of humanity that forces the listener to explore his own diabolical side. The album is a tour de force with spitting musical and aesthetic complexity swirling around a dense soundscape of excellently distilled and refined ideas, altogether forming a rare display of musical craftsmanship equaled by very few contemporary metal bands. With nine gracefully raging songs, “Eclipse” presents DIABOLICAL as a mature and sophisticated band on the rise to new heights.
Two years after the successful release of the “Armageddonize” album around the globe, Eclipse have established themselves as rising stars with audiences in Australia, Japan, America and Europe (including the 3.5 million viewers who saw Eclipse’s debut on Swedish national television at Melodifestivalen 2016).
With the musical development and maturity shown across the board on their last two albums, “Bleed and Scream” and “Armageddonize,” the future has become clear: these guys are destined for stardom! And now with their new album, aptly entitled “Monumentum,” band’s amazing abilities are truly on display for the world to hear.
After touring extensively for two years in support of “Armageddonize”, Eclipse’s main songwriters Erik Mårtensson and Magnus Henriksson reconvened in Erik’s new studio in the Swedish countryside in late summer 2016 and started writing new songs. The intention was to write and record an album with no compromise on either song quality or musical performance from the band.
Singer, songwriter and producer Erik Martensson says: “With every album, one’s way of writing music changes a bit. What you thought was exciting and interesting while writing one album can radically change when you start writing the next. I think we have brought in quite a few new tricks in the writing and recording process while still staying true to our sound. In the end, it all boils down to if it’s good or bad songs and I think this is the best album we’ve done. In my opinion there is not one single weak song on the album and I’m really proud of it!”
We know saying your latest album is the best you’ve done is the oldest cliché in rock music, and so instead of taking our word for it, tune in and listen to the killer opening track “Vertigo” here: https://youtu.be/vAM5159IW4E
It’s melodic rock that’s respectful of the roots of the genre, but with sights set firmly on the future. Fans of the band will not be disappointed and newcomers can look forward to hard rocking tunes with massive hooks from the first to the final track.
As Erik puts it: “When I go and see a band I just want to hear songs that make me wanna put my fist in the air and scream along, and I want everyone around me to do the same. Well, Monumentum is one giant fist waiting for a chanting crowd of rockers. We can’t wait for the people to hear it!”

This second edition of Frontiers Rock Festival was my first experience at this AOR based 2-days label festival at Live Club(on 11-12 April 2015 in Trezzo – Milan, Italy). But I must say right away that it’s difficult to express with words the emotions that those days provoked in me… Here, we’re not talking just about a label festival; it felt more like a family gathering! People, Friends, before and in between the band performances, gathered together in smaller groups to fill the venue all over, talking about the latest news, even with me, who right at the beginning felt a bit like a fish out of water. However, as soon as the first tunes filled Live Club, I found myself fully immersed as if I had always been there. I will not try to put into words the turmoil of various feelings and emotions I had inside me during those 2 days. I’ll let the facts, pictures and videos (watch below) do the talking, as they will surely say more than 1000 well-selected words… check them out for yourself!
Each band gave their best on stage, but the absolute highlights for me were ECLIPSE and their crazy show, which didn’t leave anybody cold! And it goes without saying that the guys of BURNING RAIN(Doug Aldrich – Guitars, Keith St. John – Vocals, Sean McNabb – Bass, Matt Starr – Drums) conquered me in full, with their precise and impeccable sounds and great songs. They finished their set with a legendary cover of the Led Zeppelin classic, “Kashmir”, featuring on keyboards our “own” Italian pride and joy, Alessandro Del Vecchio, Frontiers’ own producer. I still have chills in me, thinking of their performance as “Kashmir” was one of the biggest soundtracks of my entire childhood (see the video and Day One pics below).
My second FRF day was unfortunately short, as I had to leave for the long drive home before I could see the day’s headliners on stage. But one thing is for sure, my unconditional highlight was One Name, One Man, who stood up and took the audience with his captivating and enchanting stage presence: DANGER DANGER‘s legendary vocalist TED POLEY, with his brilliant Festival line-up (Anna Portalupi on bass, Alessandro Del Vecchio on keyboards, Mario Percudani on guitars and Alessandro Mori on drums). Believe me, one simply cannot help falling in love with Ted and his devoted performance — you just let go and enjoy it all. Ten points also to the Live Club security, who was put to the test when Ted suddenly jumped into the public to sing “a duet” with hundreds of people around him in the audience, and then piloting him back to the stage. No harm done but a lot of fun!

Overall Frontiers Rock Festival exceeded my highest expectations. These great bands have revived my love for AOR, which began in my childhood but somehow got lost during the last 10 years. I also want to thank the Frontiers Crew for the excellent organization, in all its details, and for making me feel like one of the family! There’s only one tiny little problem, or more like a question: how will we manage to wait a whole year until the next edition of Frontiers Rock Festival?
The best way to “feel” music is to do so together with a huge family… Music, as it should always be, is without frontiers—just as it was at Frontiers Rock Festival! See you next year! \m/
