In anticipation of their forthcoming studio album “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” – out on March 27th (EU), 30th (UK) and 31st (US) – Finland-based symphonic metal masters NIGHTWISH now reveal the album opener ‘Shudder Before The Beautiful’ as the second track after the recently unveiled first singe ‘Élan’.

‘Shudder Before The Beautiful’ is premiered today at Finland’s biggest newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.

Tuomas Holopainen comments: “We wanted to present our upcoming album`s opening track “Shudder Before The Beautiful” for everyone to listen to before the album`s release in cooperation with the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat. Bringing together the most trustworthy Finnish media with a song about universal awe was a match made in heaven in its uniqueness. The core of “Shudder Before The Beautiful” lies in moments such as gazing at The Milky Way on a cold winter`s night, seeing a photo of our Planet Earth, “a pale blue dot” taken by Voyager 1 as a tiny oasis in the unfathomable vastness of space, or when listening to music which momentarily takes away all woe and time.

And sharing those moments with people you love.”

“Endless Forms Most Beautiful” will be the first NIGHTWISH studio album to feature Dutch vocalist Floor Jansen. Longtime drummer Jukka Nevalainen wasn’t able to take part in the recording sessions due to health issues but Kai Hahto (WINTERSUN) kindly stepped in and looked after the drumming duties for him.

NIGHTWISH also revealed the famed evolutionary biologist and writer Professor Richard Dawkins as a guest on this eighth studio album. The detailed cover-artwork was created by longtime collaborator Toxic Angel.

 

 

 

NIGHTWISH‘s forthcoming album ‘Endless Forms Most Beautiful’ will be the band’s first studio album to feature Dutch vocalist Floor Jansen and is set for release on March 27th (EU), 30th (UK) and 31st (NA) via Nuclear Blast. Finland-based symphonic metal storytellers NIGHTWISH have released the twelfth episode in their on-going series of new album “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” trailers, where founding member, composer, and keyboard player Tuomas Holopainen addresses recurring themes in the songwriting process and the poetic, scientific approach taken to create new music.

“Natural science and its paradigm seem to represent something cold and boring to a lot of people,” shares Holopainen, who confesses to wanting to be a biologist since he was six years old. “Hopefully we can illustrate with this album that science can be even something profoundly spiritual.”

With an album title taken from the writings of English naturalist Charles Darwin, NIGHTWISH’s eighth studio album, Endless Forms Most Beautiful, will be released in North America on March 31st. Produced by Tero “TeeCee” Kinnunen, Endless Forms Most Beautiful includes adult & childrens choirs, collaborative work with esteemed orchestral arranger Pip Williams, and a guest appearance by evolutionary biologist, writer, and atheist Richard Dawkins.
