“San Saguaro is the first single taken from Maya Mountains’ new album out on April 17th. It’s called Era and it’s a concept album that tells the lysergic adventure of Enrique Dominguez. In this song our psychic traveller, landed in the desert of an alien world, pricks himself with the big cactus called saguaro – As they whisper in my ear, melt their fingers with my head – From here comes the transition to a new dystopian landscape, populated by some disturbing epic figures…” the band explains.

As much as BLEED FROM WITHIN enjoy working in the studio – their true love is playing live. To capture the magic at their gigs they filmed the release show for their latest album, “Era”, for a video clip for the song “Cast Down” that you can check out below.
The band comments: “This is one of our favourites from the latest album, ‘Era’. There’s such a great energy to the song and it translates incredibly well on stage. In light of this, we wanted to capture the essence of a BLEED FROM WITHIN show and match the visuals to the track. The obvious show to film was our album release show in Glasgow, Scotland. The show sold out and the atmosphere was electric. We hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed the show!”
BLEED FROM WITHIN have a number of shows and festivals lined up in October and November before joining As I Lay Dying on their European headliner tour.
Five years in the making, “Era“ marks the return of the Scottish quintet. The album was recorded at Middle Farm Studios and BLEED FROM WITHIN headquarters between March – September 2017. The drums were produced and engineered by Adam ‘Nolly’ Getgood (Periphery, Animals As Leaders and more), who also mixed the album. It is the first release featuring their new guitar player, Steven Jones. The Scottish based producer/songwriter joined the band two years ago and has been an integral part of both writing, and recording.

Just a few days prior to the release of their anticipated new album, “Era”, BLEED FROM WITHIN are releasing a third video clip for the song “Crown Of Misery” which was directed by Clearway Media.
Check out “Crown Of Misery” here:
The band about the song and video: “Our first two singles have an epic quality to them in that each song builds from start to finish. ‘Crown Of Misery’ kicks you in the face almost immediately then brings in one of the catchiest vocal hooks for the chorus. The three tracks together paint a pretty good picture of what to expect from the new album as a whole; aggression, melody & groove.
The video perfectly captures the energy of the band and the story shows the struggles of someone trying to break free from what holds them back. At the end, the crown is left behind and our character has disappeared. A sign that they have moved on from that which restricted them.”

Sweden’s musical alchemists, OPETH, have debuted a new video for their song ‘Era’ today. The video’s track is featured on the band’s critically praised, 12th studio album, “Sorceress”.
The video for ‘Era’ comes just ahead of the band’s return to the U.S. for a headline spring tour with support from GOJIRA and DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT, and in summer, the band will return to Europe for several festivals.

The beautifully shot, cinematic video was directed by Markus Hofko and features stunning visuals that perfectly sync with the band’s dynamic music.
”I have to say our involvement in the making of the ‘Era’ video was so minimal we can’t take credit either for or against its brilliance. We did 3D scans of our bodies (clothed) in Munich during the last European tour. I remember everyone’s extremely tired and probably slightly hungover. The director just placed us in a ice-cold room and then scanned us with something that looked like a flashing hairdryer. Done! We’ve done our part for the video. Next! During the process of finishing the piece it got clear to me that it really works with the song. That’s something I was involved in actually, picking the song. It’s extremely difficult. Which song to choose? How do I know what works best for this format? Well, I don’t. I picked a song from the record that has a strong chorus. Slightly old school way of thinking I guess, but ultimately it didn’t matter all that much to me. The video is nice. I dig it. It’s slightly on the pretentious side, but hey, works for me! And like I said, it really works with the overall vibe of the song. Lyrically and musically and definitely emotionally,” states OPETH front man Mikael Åkerfeldt.
