Italian for ‘venom’, Velenomarks FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE’s first record in 3 years, since the release of their critically acclaimed record King (2016). The ‘metal part’ of Velenowas recorded in Rome, Italy at Bloom Recording Studio and Kick Studio with long-standing collaborator Marco Mastrobuono, while the ‘orchestral part’ – the ensembles – were tracked at Musica Teclas Studio in Perugia. Fleshgod Apocalypse then took the effort over to Grammy-nominated Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, THE BLACK DAHLIAMURDER, EPICA) at Hansen Studios in Denmark for mixing and mastering. The entire production of Velenotook, according to Paoli, about three months. Artwork for the album was created by Travis Smith (AVENGEDSEVENFOLD, OPETH, KATATONIA).
In an unfortunate turn of events, Italian orchestral-death metal giants FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE have been forced to postpone their North American tour due to travel restrictions implemented in response to the spread of COVID-19, “Coronavirus.”
What was to be one of metal’s most anticipated spring tours, where the band was to be accompanied at shows by a classical string quartet for the first time ever, will now take place at a later date to be announced as plans are confirmed. Information regarding tickets will be made public soon.
A statement from FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE:
“Hello everyone,
It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the postponement of our upcoming tour in North America with the Veleno String Quartet and The Agonist. This has been decided upon due to current entry restrictions in the United States, following recent cases of coronavirus in Italy.
We’re absolutely devastated about the delay, but we’re already working to reschedule the tour for late Summer/early Fall (exact dates coming soon).
We know that there are so many people waiting for us in the US and Canada and we can’t wait to see you. We’ll keep you updated as shows are being rebooked, after which the show tickets and VIP tickets will be honored. So please stay tuned for further developments.
To the many of you asking how you can help support during this time, merch purchases always help and will be used to get us back up to speed and on the road. You can check out our store here: shop.fleshgodapocalypse.com
Thank you guys so much for the immense support. We’ll see you on the road, sooner than you think!”

While fans await FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE’s eventual return, they’re invited to check out the stunning new video for the latest single “Monnalisa,” from the critically acclaimed album, Veleno.
Italian orchestral-death metal giants FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE have unveiled a stunningly beautiful new cinematic masterpiece video for the band’s latest single “Monnalisa.”
“Monnalisa” is featured on the band’s critically praised 2019 album, Veleno, that’s available now from Nuclear Blast. The video was produced by Void n’ Disorder, directed by Giovanni Bucci (KORN) and shot by Francesco Pennica. Full credits can be found in the video’s description on YouTube.
Francesco Paoli says: “’Monnalisa’ is truly experimental but, at the same time, one of the best songs we’ve ever written. It stood up amongst the other ‘Veleno’ tracks right from its release, becoming an instant classic for our fans. I believe what makes this one so special for everyone is that the idea of “poisoning”, which is at the very center of our album “Veleno”, is connected to love. Even the most noble of feelings can become toxic if we suddenly lose our identity, letting our mind and soul become enslaved to someone else. In the end, we can truly love someone only if we find a way to love ourselves first. This is one of the most meaningful messages hidden inside our album. That’s why we felt the need to emphasize it even more through this video. When I came up with the concept behind the video, we all agreed that only someone like Giovanni Bucci (KORN, ODDKO), who directed our previous video ‘Sugar’, could have handled it the way we desired. The final result is a cinematic video that looks as good as a high-end fashion film, with incredible production values and unconventional imagery, mostly inspired by the historical heritage of Italian fashion and architecture, while still maintaining some horror aspects. Giovanni and I have known each other for a very long time and I collaborated with his band ODDKO. I’m a huge fan of all his work as a full rounded artist. He and all the creative minds of the Void ‘N Disorder team, like the extraordinarily talented Art Director Paola Rocchetti, and top-level colorist Gabe Sanchez (POST MALONE, USHER, CAMILA CABELLO) transformed a bunch of cool ideas into a mind-blowing piece of art.”
Giovanni Bucci adds: “My goal with this music video was to prove that you can make something elegant and classy and still be metal as fuck. I wanted to get away from the gritty stereotypes of metal videos and since we are all Italians, I thought that it would be interesting to juxtapose Death Metal imagery with elements from classical Italian culture, with its sophistication, elegance, and style. Moreover, it’s always a pleasure to work with these guys and Francesco, who plays the drums on ODDKO’s upcoming album and is also featured in the next, soon to be released, music videos.”

Italian orchestral-death metal giants FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE have just announced, via their Official Facebook page, their new live drummer, Eugene Ryabchenko, read below.
Here’s a message from the frontman Francesco Paoli: “After two years of collaboration, our live drummer and long-time friend David Folchitto called me expressing his desire to take a break from touring, to be more focused on different musical and personal projects that require more time home and a less hectic schedule. It was a rough moment for all of us, especially on a personal side, considering all the crazy experiences we’ve shared together, but we totally get his point and we want to support him in this new chapter of his life. Obviously, as soon as his departure was discussed, we started our search for a new live drummer who could fit the role. Well, this guy’s name is Eugene Ryabchenko. He is a long-time Fleshgod fan and also an extremely talented musician, incredibly well trained, with a solid career as a professional drummer but, most important, he is super nice and humble, which are both essential requirements to be part of this band. From now on, he’ll be the man behind the kit for all our next shows, so please welcome him and don’t hesitate to show all your love and support! We just finished delivering our first bunch of shows together and I feel like we truly found the final piece of the puzzle. What we have now, thanks also to Veronica and Fabio, is the best line-up we could ask for, surely the best you’ve ever seen. So, next time we’ll be in town, make no mistake and come experience the new Fleshgod Apocalypse.”
Eugene says: “It is a huge honor and pleasure to announce that from now on I will be playing drums for Fleshgod Apocalypse. No need to say that it is an extremely challenging task because the guys set a very high bar in terms of live performance and musical creativity. But I believe this is the right place for me to grow as a musician and a person as well. I am looking forward to the upcoming shows in the near future and see you all on the road. Let’s make history and have a blast 🤘🏻“
