British progressive metal heroes THRESHOLD reveal first info on their upcoming new double-live-album “European Journey”, which was recorded at various venues across Europe during November 2014, in support of their current studio album »For The Journey«.
“European Journey” contains 15 live tracks and will be released as a 2-CD digipak, out November, 13th, via Nuclear Blast.
Richard West comments: “We had a fantastic tour playing so many fan favorites going back to ’97 with ‘Part Of The Chaos’ through ‘Mission Profile’, ‘Pilot In The Sky Of Dreams’ to the present day with ‘The Box’. We recorded some shows along the way and it’s turned into this really powerful double album”.
“Threshold continue to enjoy fantastic support from our loyal fans. The band have always enjoyed mixing with the people who listen to our music and this tour was no exception”, adds Karl Groom.

British progressive metallers THRESHOLD will release their forthcoming album ‘For The Journey’ on the 19th of September, via Nuclear Blast, and in anticipation of the new album, the band have been revealing a series of trailers documenting the making of and recording. Karl Groom has showed fans around his studio where the album was recorded and last week the band posted the first track by track trailer, featuring Damian Wilson and Richard West.

»For The Journey« is the successor to the band’s 2012 release »March Of Progress« and was produced by guitarist Karl Groom and Richard West at Thin Ice Studios in England. The album was mastered by Mika Jussila (THERION, AMORPHIS) at Finnvox in Finland and will be released on September 22, 2014 via Nuclear Blast.
The new album also marks the band’s second release featuring vocalist Damian Wilson since his departure from the band in 1997. In a recent interview with Prog Magazine, Damian spoke about the band’s relationship and how easy it was recording the new album: “I think it’s just the fact that we’ve become really good friends and it’s the companionship in the band. We seem to care a lot about each other and we’ve become really close. So we thoroughly enjoy making music together”.
Commented West: “For The Journey« is one of our strongest albums and one of the most enjoyable to make. I’ve probably heard it a thousand times during the recording process but now that’s it’s over, I still can’t stop listening to it!”
The album artwork was created by Polish Surrealism artist LeszekBujnowski, who the band found on the internet. “He’s designed some beautiful pieces and we thought this was a perfect TRESHOLD cover”, states West.

For The Journey will be THRESHOLD’s second consecutive studio album featuring Damian Wilson since his departure from the band in 1997. “I think it’s just the fact that we’ve become really good friends and it’s the companionship in the band,” reveals Wilson on how easy it was to record the new album. “We seem to care a lot about each other and we’ve become really close, so we thoroughly enjoy making music together.”
For The Journey was recorded at Thin Ice Studios in Surrey, England with band members Karl Groom (guitars) and Richard West (keyboards) at the production helm. Mastering was done by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios in Finland. Album artwork created by Polish artist Leszek Bujnowski.
