METALHEADS FOREVER, one of the biggest metal entities out there (having today more than 153k members, led by David Maloney) and Alpha Omega‘s partner since February 2018, have posted online their March 2019 issue, featured by Alpha Omega‘s NOCTIFERIA, FUELED BY FEAR, DYING GORGEOUS LIES alongside DORO, CHILDREN OF BODOM, GHOST & more!
DEFYING DECAY are a band of musical misfits, an eclectic mix of cultures and classical training, a hybrid born of many influences crafted by a shared passion for music. The band has persevered to realise their vision born in the East and are now knocking on the doors to the rest of the world, following in the footsteps of bands like Crossfaith and Coldrain. This enigmatic act is emerging onto the international scene with their new album in 2019, and preceded by first single “Ghost”.
The track is taken from the forthcoming album “Metamorphosis”, a melancholy ballad inspired by loss and memory. Visually, “Ghost” is a careful construction of metaphors and motifs, hidden clues that suggest deeper themes from the overall album narrative. The cinematic style is similarly crashed through with vibrant performance and portraits that introduce the band gradually in this first video.
Speaking about the single and video, vocalist ‘Jay’ Poom Euarchukiati says: “The song was inspired by anime blockbuster “Your Name” and is probably our first attempt at writing a song that’s about a relationship. “Ghost” is really about the idea of loving someone that doesn’t actually exist, isn’t there or the same anymore. The video performance is meant to be a bit more abstract and was inspired by the likes of The Prodigy – you can’t see too much of our faces, and we used 90s dance / rave scene lasers to light up the dark room. The shoot took place in a World War I Bunker and provided the perfect cold, dark vibes we wanted for the video. This upcoming album is our journey. A journey that’s tested us, changed us and changed us, changed us as people, changed us as artist. This has been our metamorphosis. We speak through our music and we want to share it with the world. This is DEFYING DECAY“.
DEFYING DECAY are led by ‘Jay’ Poom Euarchukiati (vocalist, guitarist and synthesis), Howard Fang (guitarist), Kongpop “Jump” Thongrat (guitarist and pianist). The bands lineup was updated in 2016 with the addition of Theon Adam (bassist and programmer), and Mark Mironov (drums).
Described by one writer as “the perfect love song for that special demon in your life,” the new music video for GHOST’s track “Dance Macabre”, released today, is just that. Two party crashers talk their way into a surreal bash that one will never remember and one will never forget. The video was directed by Zev Deans (Ghost’s “Square Hammer” video) and is erotic and romantic as only Ghost can do it. Check it out below:
“Dance Macabre,” already with 15-million Spotify streams, is the second music video and radio single from the Grammy-winning rock/pop band’s most recent album Prequelle (6/1/18 Loma Vista Recordings /Concord Records). Simultaneously apocalyptic with catchy, contagious hooks, the song tells of how some people coped with the devastation of 14th century Europe’s Black Plague that wiped out millions – by dancing and partying and seducing until they dropped. The music video puts its own twist on the celebration of the End of Days and beyond.
Twenty-eighteen has been a good year for Ghost. “Rats,” the first single from Prequelle, held the #1 spot at Rock Radio for a record-setting nine consecutive weeks. In North America alone, “Rats” has been streamed more than 14-million times, its companion music video has racked up more than 13-million YouTube views, and Prequelle has accumulated nearly 49-million streams. Ghost recently sold out the very prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London, and Metallica just announced the band will be Special Guest on its 25-date European stadium tour next summer. Ghost will headline its two-act “A Pale Tour Named Death” Fall North American tour that starts in Dallas on October 25. The North American trek includes two headline arena shows, The Forum in Los Angeles, and New York City’s Barclays Center.
Ghost will play Twickenham Stadium, London, on June 20th 2019 as special guests to Metallica.
Monday, September 24, 2018 — It is announced that Grammy-winning, Swedish rock band GHOST will be Special Guest on all four European legs of METALLICA’s 2019 “Worldwired” Stadium Tour that begins on May 1 at the Estadio do Restelo in Lisbon, Portugal. GHOST has shared festival stages with METALLICA before, but this is the band’s first invitation to join METALLICA on tour. With Norway’s Bokassa opening all dates, the three-band bill will play 25 stadiums from May through August. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 28 at 10AM local time. Prior to joining Metallica for the summer 2019 European stadium tour, Ghost will headline its own “A Pale Tour Named Death” tour, first in North America kicking off October 25 in Dallas, Texas, and then in Europe beginning February 3, 2019 in Lyon, France. All Ghost headline shows can be accessed here.
In North America, Europe and elsewhere around the globe, 2018 continues to be an extraordinary year for Ghost. Since its June release, the band’s fourth full-length album Prequelle has been streamed north of 75-million times. The album’s first single, “Rats,” had accumulated more than 25-million streams and set a 2018 record for maintaining the #1 spot for nine consecutive weeks at U.S. Rock Radio. The companion music video for “Rats” has logged more than 12.5 million views in the U.S. alone. Earlier this month, Ghost played to a sold-out house at London’s Royal Albert Hall. As the UK’s Kerrang! wrote in its review, “Tonight is nothing short of devilishly incredible, largely because it’s impossible to pick a standout moment from a set inundated with them.”

Last Friday, progressive doom metal masters ALKYMIST released the first single and opening track ‘Ghost’ from their forthcoming debut album. Now, the band posts a brand new and wonderfully strange music video for the song created by director Roelof Witmans. Watch the video for ‘Ghost’ below:
‘Alkymist’ will be released on October 5th via Indisciplinarian on LP and digital formats, and the vinyl edition of the album (limited to 500 copies on black virgin vinyl) can be pre-ordered HERE!
Copenhagen, Denmark based ALKYMIST is a new force in doom metal – a force which, in its own manner, seeks to bring the hope of change into a time of turmoil. The band was formed in 2016 and released their debut EP in January 2018 to notable national buzz. The band’s debut album consists of six grandiose metal compositions over 44 minutes produced by Lasse Ballade (Solbrud, Orm, Slægt). The music on ALKYMIST’s debut album can be defined as progressive doom metal being both crushingly heavy as well as melodic and dynamic conjuring up a simultaneously strange, beautiful and terrifying expression. A general theme on ‘Alkymist’ is an existence which is parallel, wrong and expelled – and an existence from which the suffering subject seeks to be delivered.
‘Alkymist’ track list:
1. Ghost
2. Djinn
3. Myling
4. Black Egypt II
5. Paradise
6. Serpent
ALKYMIST has announced a free release show on October 3rd on Loppen, Christiania in Copenhagen, where the band will perform the album in full and is also joined by special guest Leila Abdul-Rauf (Vastum, Hammers of Misfortune). In addition, the band will play a November show with epic metallers Rising and more dates will follow in near future.
With 15-million streams worldwide, “Dance Macabre” is already one of the most popular tracks from Prequelle, the new album from Grammy Award-winning Swedish rock band GHOST. Today, “Dance Macabre” is reborn with a provocative remix by the eclectic and mysterious French synthwave band Carpenter Brut. You can check out the track and its companion animated visual here:
“I’ve been a big fan of Ghost since their beginning,” said Carpenter Brut, “and when I had the opportunity to open for the band in 2016, I was super excited. Last April, I received an email from Tobias himself asking if I would remix ‘Dance Macabre,’ and of course I accepted. I wanted to bring a funky and disco touch, not just confine myself to the pure synthwave style that would have been expected, but to make this remix a disco rock song and bring out the pop side of the band that is always underlying in their music.”
The Carpenter Brut remix crosses Ghost into the realm of dance music by injecting an infectious energy into a song that stays true to the album’s overall theme of The Black Plague that took place in 14th century Europe. The Plague spread rapidly, killing people within days of being infected. At the time, local inns, taverns and brothels thrived as the populace knew there was no tomorrow, so they danced and partied, celebrating the End of Days.
Tobias Forge, Ghost’s mastermind, is a long-time Carpenter Brut fan, having invited them to fill the support spot on Ghost’s Fall 2016 tour. Forge always felt that “Dance Macabre” was a song he wanted to do a remix of and Carpenter Brut was his first choice.
The “Dance Macabre” Carpenter Brut remix comes on the heels of Ghost’s record-setting run at U.S. Rock Radio where “Rats,” the lead single from Prequelle, has just completed its ninth consecutive week at Number One, the longest-running track to top that chart this year.
