Metal Blade Records has issued as follows:
Sure they may have just finished the first leg of their most brutal tour to date, but the Intergalactic Warlords are not ready for a break just yet. People have been asking when there will be a video for a song from GWAR‘s latest masterpiece Battle Maximus and now they have an answer. Today your Lords and Masters bring to you the video for “Madness at the Core of Time”. Check out the video HERE and pick up your copy of Battle Maximus. (Seriously if you haven’t gotten it yet, what the FUCK are you waiting for? Oderus needs drug money)

Quoth Oderus:
“We made a video? I have been so busy touring, getting loaded and mouthing off I didn’t even notice. But I am sure it’s the best video ever, simply because GWAR is in it.”
In other GWAR news, for the last two years animators Myke Chillian and Tommy Meehan have been working with the members of GWAR to create a “GWARtoon” that was appropriately disgusting and objectionable enough to most accurately represent the most dangerous band in rock and roll history. After all this long and hard work, last week Funny or Die finally premiered “The Animated Tales of GWAR“. Check it out HERE.
Following a short Antarctic slumber GWAR will return to the road with three shows around the holidays (December 27th – 29th) with Battlecross and Iron Reagan providing support. Then it’s off to Antarctica again before heading “down under” for their appearance on the 2014 “Soundwave Festival”.
GWAR‘s Battle Maximus out now on Metal Blade Records features twelve brand new tracks that not only honor their departed ally, but tells the story of GWAR‘s latest struggle against what may be their greatest enemy yet…the insidious “Mr. Perfect”, who has travelled through time itself to steal the power of GWAR–the power of immortality, and use this power to mutate the human race into his twisted vision of what the “perfect” human should be. Once again GWAR finds themselves as the only thing standing between the human race and the latest super-powered shithead bent on the destruction of GWAR and the enslavement of their worshippers.
Battle Maximus can be ordered from Metal Blade Records HERE, Amazon and iTunes.

Metal Blade Records have announced that For the last two years animators Myke Chillian and Tommy Meehan have been working with the members of GWAR to create a “GWARtoon” that was appropriately disgusting and objectionable enough to most accurately represent the most dangerous band in rock and roll history. After all this long and hard work, today Funny or Die finally premieres “The Animated Tales of GWAR“. Check it out HERE.

Animator Myke Chillian described “The Animated Tales of GWAR“:
“Lead singer Oderus Urungus loses his murderous-mojo prompting the rest of the band to embark on an Antarctic quest for the cure. Weird Al Yankovic guest stars.”
Brutal front-fiend Oderus Urungus had this to say about the project–”I hate cartoons…cartoons are for kids, and kids are strictly for eating. But I just might have to back up a little and say that this is the greatest cartoon ever, even if I still hate it, just because it’s about US.”
GWAR will wrap up the first leg of the “Madness at the Core of Time” tour this weekend in Washington, DC. This has been described as GWAR‘s best tour to date (but aren’t they all?) The tour features deathcore heavyweights and label-mates Whitechapel, Richmond, VA thrashers Iron Reagan (featuring Municipal Waste members Tony Foresta and Land Phil as well as Ryan Parrish on drums) and A Band of Orcs (who are actually a band of Orcs).
Oderus continued–”This first leg of the Madness tour has been everything I thought it would be and more. I feel we have paid tribute to Flattus, as we will for eternity, and moved into an exciting new chapter of GWAR behind the blistering fury of our new guitar player Pustulus…now I must get back to eating babies.”
After last year’s triumphant performance as part of The AV Club Undercover Series where GWAR gave their take of the classic Kansas song “Carry on Wayward Son” (Which can be viewed HERE) and was voted the best performance of 2012. This year the AV Club actually invited the monsters back to participate in the 2013 edition of the Undercover Series. This year GWAR repeated as champion in the best performance of 2013 with Billy Ocean’s #1 hit single “Get Outta My Dreams, Get into My Car” with a little twist. Check out their take on the 80′s classic HERE.
According to Metal Blade Records, After a week and over 35,000 signatures, Antarctic overlords GWAR finally have officially reacted to the petition started by Jeff Cantrell of Morehead, Kentucky on Change.org to have GWAR play the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The petition can be signed at Change.org/GWARBOWL.
“It has long been the joy of GWAR to submit the human race to any number of hideous tortures, and I can’t think of anything more horrible than you having to watch acts like The Black-Eyed Peas and Bruno Mars perform. So the temptation to ignore this is great! But then you start thinking about all of the people that who have never experienced GWAR before, and will be forced to do so if we do get the gig, well, at that point my colossal mega-ego kicks in and I am all over it.”
After a long and wet fart, Oderus continued…”I really don’t think we should be limited to playing the halftime show…I am offering GWAR as an actual team that could complete in the NFL. Think of the titanic struggle involved as the NFL submits their best players, hell, we could play against all the teams at once and still emerge victorious. For too long has the NFL ignored the obvious fact that the players should be naked, blind-folded and armed with battle axes, that land mines should litter the field and whalers should hurl harpoons randomly from the stands. GWAR is throwing our entire cosmic weight (and we are fairly hefty) behind this petition, and command all of our followers, their families, and indeed anybody who has ever existed to sign this fucking thing, and in fact for those who have already signed it to create multiple fake email addresses and sign it again!”
And now to top it all off, today GWAR is ready to bring everyone a little holiday cheer with a select number of shows this December. That’s right it’s Christmas Time with Santa Oderus. These three shows are set for December 27th in New York at Irving Plaza, December 28th in New Haven, CT at Toad’s Place and finally a show in Richmond, VA on December 29th at The National. Tickets for all three shows go on sale this Friday.
In support of Battle Maximus,GWAR will be heading out this fall on the ”Madness at the Core of Time” tour. The tour, which features a completely brand-new show full of slavering creatures and deserving victims, is set to kick off October 2nd in Columbus, Ohio and runs through November 17th in Washington, DC. GWAR shall be joined by deathcore heavyweights and label-mates Whitechapel, Richmond, VA thrashers Iron Reagan (featuring Municipal Waste singer Tony Foresta) and A Band of Orcs (who are actually a band of Orcs).

According to Metal Blade, The day has finally arrived. Your lords and masters GWAR have unleashed their 13th and most devastating album to date Battle Maximus. The album can be ordered from Metal Blade Records HERE, Amazon and iTunes.
In celebration of the album’s release, GuitarWorld.com the online home of Guitar World Magazine, is hosting an exclusive stream of the instrumental title Track “Battle Maximus”. Check out the song HERE.

Tonight in Richmond, VA at Balliceaux there will be a Battle Maximus release party. The party starts at 8:00 PM and will feature appearances by Oderus Urungus and guitarist Pustulous Maximus. Battle Maximus will be blasting in its entirety, there will be free posters and fans can pick up their copy of the new album for $5.
Continuing their media onslaught, GWAR front thing Oderus Urungus appeared on the Dan Patrick Show yesterday to talk football, the new album and as the case with Oderus a whole lot more. The interview with Oderus, Dan Patrick and Jamey Jasta can be seen HERE.
But that’s not all; Oderus has taken over the satellites at SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal. Every hour today through 2:00 AM tomorrow morning, the Warty One will be introducing new songs from Battle Maximus. That’s a new GWAR song every hour!
GWAR will be heading out this fall on the “Madness at the Core of Time” tour. GWAR’s Battle Maximus features twelve brand new tracks that not only honor their departed ally, but tells the story of GWAR’s latest struggle against what may be their greatest enemy yet…the insidious “Mr.
Most GWAR fans know the “Battle Maximus” was the sonic war of fratricide waged by the Maximus clan against themselves in order to choose a successor worthy to follow in Flattus’ clawprints, and was recorded as a song on the new album. Every GWAR fan knows that the awesome Pustulus Maximus triumphed in this struggle. But what most don’t know was the stellar line-up of additional guitarists that contributed solos to this blistering instrumental track. These included Lamb of God’s Mark Duane Morton (who played under the pseudonym “Tyrone Die Tuefel”), Ol Drake from Evile (Twatticus Maximus), and Todd Evans of Mobile Death Camp (also an ex-GWAR member, who for many years played Beefcake the Mighty and contributed to this work under the name Skookum Maximus).
But the biggest outside contribution came from Zach Blair of Rise Against (who had played the character of Flattus before Cory Smoot, and took to this project under the name “Splattus Maximus”. Zach flew into Richmond to GWAR’s “Slave Pit Studios” several times, did much of the writing and arrangement on the record, and finally recorded tons of completely shredding guitar.
Said Zach, “It was so great to re-connect with this family of mine and be reminded of what a great, hard working institution GWAR really is. This organization defines the term “DIY”. If they want to see something or use something that just doesn’t exist, they make it! It’s inspiring to be around and in the ten years since my tenure with them I’d forgotten what a force it is to be reckoned with. I’m so proud of them and I’m so proud of this record.. This record is many things to me a musical send-off and tribute to the late, great Cory Smoot (in the manner of which he would have liked it!) and an extension of my own contribution to this amazing cultural, artistic and musical statement. I’m forever proud to say “I PLAYED IN GWAR!!”

According to Metal Blade Records, the Antarctic rock gods GWAR are set to return to the realms of man and reclaim their vice-like grip on the throat of hard-rock humanity after spending the last year-and-a-half working on their follow-up to 2011′s critically acclaimed Bloody Pit of Horror. The new recording, Battle Maximus is GWAR‘s first full-length studio effort since the loss of their longtime guitar player, Flattus Maximus, and is set to hit the streets on September 17th on Metal Blade Records. Check out the first track, “Madness at the Core of Time” and pre-order Battle Maximus HERE.

“This album is both a tribute to Flattus and a telling of the next chapter in the story of GWAR,” said warty front-thing Oderus Urungus. “The combo of the brand new album and show should satisfy even the most hardcore Flattus devotee with the fact that GWAR‘s slay-skills are as supreme as ever, and the band stands poised to embark on our most earth-shattering world tour yet. We have mourned, we have honored, and now it’s time to fucking DEVASTATE in the name of Flattus and the supreme entity that is GWAR.”
Oderus continued…”This is our first record in our brand-new Slave Pit Studios, which Flattus had a lead role in designing, but without him we had no one left to twiddle the buttons, much less play the blazing metal leads and provide the musical direction that rescued GWAR from the depths of clown-band obscurity. I mean, Balsac is no slouch, but Flattus’ departure left a huge hole in our band. We had no choice. We had to blow the Horn of Hate…”
The Horn of Hate is an ancient Slave Pit contraption that summons all the Scumdogs in the Universe in the unlikely event that one of them is killed in battle, disintegrated, or becomes a Mormon. As the cosmic tones echoed throughout the universe (which unfortunately sounds like a giant duck-fart), the Maximus tribe answered the call by traveling to Earth to wage the mighty “Battle Maximus”, a musical trial-by-combat for the right to follow in the footsteps of Flattus. When the dust had settled, but one Scumdog remained standing…the zit-encrusted and undeniably shred-tastic Pustulus Maximus.
“It is a highlight of my corpse-littered life to join my Scumdog brothers and continue the legendary legacy of the Maximus clan,” said new GWAR-tarist, Pustulus Maximus. “I am not so happy that Oderus vandalized my space-ship, effectively marooning me on Earth, but fuck it…it’s time to ROCK!”
GWAR‘s Battle Maximus features twelve brand new tracks that not only honor their departed ally, but tells the story of GWAR‘s latest struggle against what may be their greatest enemy yet…the insidious “Mr.
“If anyone is gonna destroy the human race, it’s gonna be us…so get ready for the most epic struggle yet. Battle Maximus is destined to further solidify GWAR‘s place as the masters of Earth and Man, and no time-travelling demonic despot is going to change that, even if we have to kick his ass in every venue from the most puke-smeared club to the most illustrious festival stages worldwide,” said Oderus. “The new show is going to feature Mr. Perfect eating his own ass nightly, as well as GWAR torturing the most annoying figures in the world of entertainment, politics, and religion. Prepare yourselves for the most awesome chapter in GWAR‘s blood-soaked history yet. Hail Flattus!”
