Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rockers APOCALYPTICA have released their brand-new track and music video, “Talk To Me” featuring Lzzy Hale of Halestorm (Silver Lining Music).
The track, which will be available exclusively in digital form can be accessed HERE.
The epic, storming power-metallic grooves of “Talk To Me” are the result of much mutual admiration and desire between both parties to create together. With both bands sharing an established history of camaraderie and similarities with regards to musical taste, a collaboration was always going to happen and at a time when everyone could do with some fresh, new, huge, epic, anthemic music, both bands agreed it was the appropriate moment to merge talents and release the track.
Apocalyptica’s Eicca Toppinen comments:
“After years of friendship we are more than happy to release a song together with the amazing Lzzy of Halestorm! This song has been in our minds for quite some time and we have been waiting for the right moment to finish it, and getting Lzzy to join us and perform in her outstanding way was a dream come true! We want to thank Lzzy and the whole Halestorm team for their great work and friendship.”
Produced by Howard Benson at West Valley Recording Studios in Woodland Hills, California (with Benson also playing keyboards), and mixed by Benson alongside Joe Rickard, Hale’s lustrous vocals give Apocalyptica’s orchestral arrangement a rich dimension, and Lzzy was delighted the two old friends could finally merge talents.
“Apocalyptica and I have for years talked about doing something together, and the last time I saw Eicca Toppinen, in Helsinki, Finland during the 2019 Tuska Festival, he brought up the idea that we finally make that talk a reality. I’m so excited for the world to hear this song! Thank you so much to the entire Apocalyptica camp for being a part of our family all these years and for including me in this project!”
THE HU have released a new official video for “Song of Women” featuring Lzzy Hale of Halestorm and kicks off the pre-order for the album on which it can be found – the Deluxe edition of the band’s critically acclaimed album, THE GEREG.
THE GEREG Deluxe edition is out on July 10, 2020 and will be available in CD, double vinyl and Digital formats. This version includes 3 of their tracks, re-made with special featured artists.
“THE HU is the real deal. Don’t sleep on this!” – Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach)
“Yuve Yuve Yu” featuring Danny Case of From Ashes To New was the band’s first-ever radio single. The song peaked at #4 on the rock radio charts and established the band at the format. The band’s current single “Wolf Totem” featuring Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach is well on its way to the top of the charts. The third track exclusive to the Deluxe edition is the brand new “Song of Women” featuring Lzzy Hale of Halestorm. There will also be 3 acoustic tracks on the new release.
The video for “Song of Women” features Lzzy Hale of Halestorm. Lzzy’s performance with the band was filmed prior to the coronavirus quarantine. “I’m so thankful to THE HU for welcoming me, my words and my melody into this song,” says Hale. “I can count on less than one hand the number of times where a project has changed the course of my spirit and renewed my faith in humanity. This was one of those projects. I’m still levitating.” May is a month filled with events honoring women – Mother’s Day on 5/10 and Women’s Health Week from 5/12- 5/18, so the band felt it important to release the song in May.
“I’m crazy about a Mongolian band called THE HU. They are just the greatest thing I’ve heard in a long time. My band of the year!” – Elton John (Beats 1 Rocket Hour)
The band is involved in the film THE RETALIATORS, a high-octane horror-thriller, starring Michael Lombardi (FX’s Rescue Me), Marc Menchaca (Ozark, The Outsider) and Joseph Gatt (Dumbo) with special guest appearances by some of rock music’s biggest names. THE HU band members play a small part in the movie and contributed “Wolf Totem” featuring Jacoby Shaddix of PAPA ROACH to the soundtrack.
THE HU has been making waves across the globe with sold-out shows and festival appearances presenting their signature brand of “hunnu rock” –a one-of-a-kind mixture of Western rock music combined with traditional Mongolian instrumentation and throat-singing in their native language.
The band has achieved wide critical acclaim and appeared on many 2019 year-end best-of lists. Loudwire listed THE GEREG among its Top Albums of 2019 and Revolver Magazine listed the band’s video “Great Chinggis Khaan” among the year’s Top 10. In the UK, THE GEREG placed among Top Albums of 2019 in Classic Rock and Metal Hammer magazines.
Jimmy Kay from Canada’s The Metal Voice spoke to HALESTORM singer Lzzy Hale at The Hall of Heavy Metal History Red Carpet on January 24 2018 as she was being inducted.
When asked about her induction she said,”I’m still waiting for someone to say yeah we really screwed up? It’s such a tremendous honor, the other inductee aren’t even my peers they are my idols.”
When asked if it is still difficult for a woman to get ahead in the Heavy Metal hard rock genre she replied,
“I think there is still an under current of a struggle for women in Metal but it’s definitely gotten better. I got to talk to Lita Ford and Pat Benatar and they were telling me about these incredible situations that they were in in order to get their record played. Thanks to our fore Mothers I haven’t had to do some of the things they had to do. ”
On December 8th the 7th-graders Olivia and Connie from “Kids Interview Bands” had a chat with HALESTORM‘s Lzzy Hale The LC in Columbus, Ohio. Among the questions were: If they made a movie about Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, who do you think would play her? Check out the video below:
“After years of glueing, sewing, bending and breaking things in the back of the bus…I am so excited to finally have something to share with all of the crazy people who inspire me,” said Hale. “Introducing ‘Scissor Happy by Lzzy Hale,’ my new clothing/jewelry and accessories line! All of these pieces are hand made on the road and created by me. This four-piece launch line is just a taste of what’s to come, and all of my pieces are unisex, so no matter what side of the pendulum you swing at, there’s a little something for everybody! Thank you so much to everyone for enabling me to share my passions with the world! ‘Tis only the beginning! Rock On!”
