Hate have been praised by press and fans alike for years for creating lacerating and dark music, proven best on their current album Tremendum (2017). The album saw ATF Sinner (vocals, guitars) utilize the dark aspects of the mystic and arcane Slavonic folklore to explore themes both personal and impersonal. It is an album that is relatable at first listen, but that is hard to fully know.

In 2018, we find HATE as ever, advancing. In preparation for what might be their most fruitful endeavor so far, to collaborate with the home of American metal, Metal Blade Records. “‘You are judged by the company you keep’, the saying goes – and if that is true, then we shall be judged extremely favourably. We are very proud to announce our signing to Metal Blade Records, a label that is as synonymous with metal as the invention of the distortion pedal. This signing could not have come at a better timing, as it coincides with an opening of a new chapter in the band’s history. Beginning with the release of 2017′s ‘Tremendum’, Hate has been on a journey towards new, even darker horizons, and we’re confident that this step will help us in reaching these goals. Our first collaboration is already well underway and plans have already been laid down to enter the studio in December of this year, with a tentative release date for mid-2019. Come, bear witness and join us on this journey”, comments the band’s front-man ATF Sinner.

Today the first official music video for the song Numinosum has been released.
ATF Sinner on “Numinosum”: „I’m proud to present you the audio-visual fruit of our co-operation with 9Liter Production House. The picture was inspired by an archaic Slavic ritual that was practised widely in the old days. Its purpose was to keep away evil spirits. Immerse in the ancient atmosphere and experience your own Numinosum as we unveil another piece of our new offering.”

HATE bandleader ATF Sinner on the story behind “Asuric Being”: “The lyric for “Asuric Being” is inspired by Rudolf Steiner’s philosophical concept of Asuras -„Spirit of Darkness” or spirit of Self-hood (egoism). It has a lot of archaic references and a history that long pre-dates Christianity. A truly great concept that has become a big source of inspiration to me. As for the music, you may notice how much we have refined the formula since „Crusade”. „Tremendum” is a profound, organic and adventurous album. We are really proud of it!”

Check out album artwork and full track listing and read what HATE‘s leader Adam Buszko unveils on the album artwork: “The drawing on the cover depicts a nighthawk (Polish: lelek), a nocturnal bird that was treated with great respect by Slavic tribes in pre-Christian times. Nighthawks were believed to bring souls to this world and take them away from dying people. In that case they gathered in big numbers screeching for long hours. So they were called „messengers of death”. As this album has different Slavic references, we chose Nighthawk as a symbol that best conveys its meaning.”

The material’s title Tremendum (eeriness and the fear of the holy) refers to an archaic notion of holiness, which is both good and evil. And you will have absolutely no doubt which part of it this band represents.
