Hate Tyler was born in 2011, the members decided to take a new way after several musical projects, like metalcore, groove, death, thrash and progressive metal.
The single “Devil Park” is the first song taken by the first album “The Great Architect” that was released on June 11, 2012 via This Is Core Records.
The album kicks off with Devil Park in which starts off with a cracking little riff then the clean vocals come in a bit later in the song the tempo raises a bit and the vocals go from clean to screaming style then back to clean again. But the guitar work on this song is really good with some good solo’s thrown in it is a great song to start the album off. The next two songs are Hate Tyler and Stop Me, these two songs are full of the some great riffs, vocals and some stunning solo’s you can hear some of the bands influences in these songs just in the style that they are playing. The fourth song on the album is The Different starts off with a rasping guitar riff then a bit of vocals then a heavier riff takes over the change over was done to perfection. The vocals change two or three times over the course of the song from clean, harsh and screaming styles, which go really well in their certain parts of the song. The next two songs on the album are Need To Hate You and Inferno, these songs have the same kind of intensity as the other songs on the album they have some really good heavy riffs and solo’s. The tempo of the songs fluctuates from medium speed to high intensity within a split second, which give the listener something to grasp and admire. The vocals are sometimes harsh then they are clean but they switch between them throughout the songs and are done to perfection. The seventh song on the album is Anything Else starts off with a little bit of drums then a guitar riff takes over and then vocals come in clean and true this song is probably the slowest song on the album. But the guitar riffs and solo’s on this are superb. But the tempo throughout the album has been quite quick so this song is a welcome change and it fit into the album very well. The Eighth song on the album is Welcome To Tortuga starts off with a great little riff that last for about 30 seconds of the start then it slows down for a little bit before a stunning solo takes over then the vocals come in with purpose. The song is really well done and it fits very well with the whole album. The ninth and last song on the album is the title track called The Great Architect and it starts off with a really good fast paced riff then the vocals come in clean but with a bit of harshness included into it. I can see why they made this into the title song it is really good it has some good heavy riffs and I can hear styles like Killswitch Engage in this one who they are influenced by. The guitar riffs are superb and the solo’s wow they are just out of this world and it makes this song a perfect ending to the album.
Overall
This is a really good album if you are fans of Killswitch Engage, Devildriver, Nevermore and Parkway Drive you will love these guys they have made a real good album here. You can hear that they put a lot of hard work into this album and I think it has really paid off. They have some great riffs and solo’s the vocal work is outstanding and together with the drums making a well worth metal album to get your hands on.
8/10
