ALICE COOPER‘s 1991 album Hey Stoopid will be re-issued this month and is due to include new bonus tracks.
Alice’s 19th studio release was produced by Peter Collins, famed for his work with RUSH and QUEENSRYCHE, among many others. The album featured three hit singles: the title track, ‘Love’s A Loaded Gun’ and ‘Feed My Frankenstein’ (the latter was performed in the 1992 comedy movie Wayne’s World, in which Alice also starred).
The 2013 reissue will feature three bonus tracks, including ‘Hey Stoopid’ (Beba edit), ‘It Rained All Night’, and a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Fire’.
Joining Alice on the album were drummer MICKEY CURRY, guitarist STEF BURJNS and bassist HUGH McDONALD, along with a series of special guests including SLASH, JOE SATRIANI, VINNIE MOORE and STEVE VAI, NIKKI SIXX and MICK MARS (who co-wrote ‘Die For You’), plus OZZY OSBOURNE providing backing vocals on the album’s title track. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, provided the spoken word part on ‘Feed My Frankenstein’, a song co-written by ZODIAC MINDWARP.
Rocker MARYANN COTTON has issued the following update:
“I’m proud to reveal that Alice Cooper is involved in the whole thing, and has written material for my new album. Alice’s involvement is featured on three songs along with his former collaborator Dick Wagner. My meeting with Alice Cooper in Germany went so well, he was such a nice guy and I can’t wait to go in the studio and record the songs they have written. It takes me back to my childhood when I listen to the tracks by Dick Wagner and Alice Cooper. Thank you so much for a great time together and for all your help and support, I really appreciate it !
My biggest inspiration and hero of all time Alice Cooper.”
