Nuclear Blast proudly announce the signing of Swedish metal icons,IN FLAMES for the world ex-North America and Scandinavia. Formed in 1990, the band are considered one of the forefathers of melodic death metal and the purveyors of the “Gothenburg sound”. With eleven studio albums released, countless successful tours around the globe, millions of records sold and a massive fanbase worldwide, IN FLAMES have proven to be an unstoppable force in heavy music. From their 1994 debut »Lunar Strain« to the most recent »Siren Charms« (2014), the band’s intricate twin guitar attack, melodic vocals and superb arrangements have given them a signature sound that has evolved throughout the years.
“In a way, IN FLAMES and Nuclear Blast share a similar story,” said IN FLAMES vocalist Anders Fridén. “Both started in a garage in Europe, both love metal and both have grown a lot bigger over the years. For these reasons, it seemed a natural fit to come back to the place it all started.”
“We’re enormously happy that IN FLAMES decided to return and trust in us for the second time – Nuclear Blast is their home again from now on. I remember well how their debut album, »Lunar Strain«, inspired me back in the days. I was totally fascinated by their great and absolutely unique blend of death metal with delicate melodies,” commented Nuclear Blast CEO Markus Staiger. “One year later, IN FLAMES signed with us and released eight splendid records over the years, including groundbreaking classics such as »Whoracle«, »Clayman«, and »Reroute To Remain«. IN FLAMES developed all the time, reinvented themselves again and again and enthused fans of various genres with their always innovative sound. We’re looking forward to the common future with Anders, Björn, Peter, and Niclas.”
Currently, the band are working on the release of a new live DVD. Stay tuned for more details!
Swedish metal icons IN FLAMES have posted the following message, on the band’s Official Facebook Page, from their long time drummer Daniel Svensson, who joined the band in 1998:
“Time to turn the page.. I have decided to close my chapter in In Flames after finishing up this current tour.
It has truly been a fantastic journey and I want to thank Anders, Björn, Peter, Jesper and Niclas from the bottom of my heart, for all great memories and experiences that we’ve shared during the last 17 years(!) together.
It’s hard to leave what have become my second family, but now it’s time for me to take care and spend more time with the most important people in my life – my wife and my three daughters.
Perhaps some of you of will see me again, as I will start my very own brewery in a very near future. Something I am just as passionate about as In Flames.
I wish my friends in the band, the whole crew and everyone that’s working for In Flames the very best in the future. To you, all fans around the world, I want to say, thank you, massively, for all the support you have shown during my years in the band.
Century Media Records recently started a collaboration with Anders Fridén (IN FLAMES) and his label Razzia Notes Records. After BLACK TEMPLE’s “It All Ends” and the upcoming album of DEAD SOUL, “The Sheltering Sky”, the “Neon EP” by PORT NOIR will be the next Razzia release being licensed to Century Media Records for all territories outside of Nordic and North America.
It’s been two years since PORT NOIR released their debut album “Puls” and the anticipation has been growing stronger ever since the announcement of a second album, which will be released in early 2016. Eager to release new material, PORT NOIR decided to write and record four completely new songs to shorten the time until the album release. These four songs with influences spreading from Kraftwerk to Johnny Cash, Cult of Luna to Muse, Rage Against The Machine to 80s pop shows you what their music truly is about. Three fuzzy pieces of art and a dark electro-disco sensation together create the EP named “Neon”.
The “Neon EP” will be released on October 16th, 2015 and will be available as digital download.
A video trailer for the EP can be seen here:
Let “Neon” be the light that shines upon you in the darkness that lies ahead. Winter is coming…
