Finnish metallers PROFANE OMEN have entered Petrax studios in Hollola, Finland studio to begin recording their third album for a 2011 release. A studio diary has been launched at this location.
PROFANE OMEN‘s sophomore full-length album, 2009’s “Inherit The Void”, entered the national chart in the band’s home country at position No. 9. The CD was recorded with producer Ville Sorvali of MOONSORROW and Aleksanteri Kuosa.

Finnish metallers AMORAL will enter Sound Supreme Studios in Hämeenlinna, Finland on January 30 to begin recording their fifth album for a late spring release. Guitarist Ben Varon recently described the band’s new material as “all over the place style-wise, from the chillest acoustic stuff to fast death metal, with lots of solid, hard-rockin’ metal in between.”
In other news, AMORAL will play a one-off show at Nosturi in Helsinki on January 15 as a tribute to the band’s late friend and lighting technician Lauri Mailasalo.
Commented the group: “Lauri passed away this year as a result of leukemia. Needless to say, the whole band was crushed by the news as Lauri had been part of the AMORAL crew almost since the very beginning. He will be deeply missed.”
Swedish metallers In Flames have entered their own IF studios in Gothenburg, Sweden with engineer Roberto Laghi (Hardcore Superstar, Lok, Sonic Syndicate) to begin recording their new album for a tentative May/June 2011 release.
According to the band, “The plan is to spend the remaining part of 2010 and the beginning of 2011 creating and recording the follow-up to ‘A Sense Of Purpose’.”
Guitarist Jesper Strömblad quit In Flames in February in order to continue receiving treatment for his alcohol addiction.
The band spent the last few months touring the world with Strömblad’s temporary replacement, Niclas Engelin from the Swedish band Engel. Engelin had helped In Flames on a couple of occasions in the past and is no stranger to the band’s songs or the touring life.
In Flames’s latest album, “A Sense of Purpose” (2008), shifted 20,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release. This was slightly less than the opening tally of “Come Clarity” (Ferret), which sold just under 24,000 copies in February 2006 to debut at position No. 58.
Finnish black metal band The Iniquity Descent are in studio mixing their debut EP intitled: “Trust The Serpent”. The band have revealed the tracklist , as follows:

Sweden’s heavy metal band Wolf has issued an official statement, as follows:
“We’d like to announce that Wolf will be entering Studio Underground in Västerås/Sweden in November to record our follow up to the success of our Grammi nominated 2009 album, “Ravenous”. We will be working alongside producer Pelle Saether. We have been hard at work writing new songs and some songtitles are: “Fullmoon Possession”, “Skullcrusher”, “False Preacher”, and “Adrenaline Overdrive”.
“We feel fired up and ready to deliver a kickass heavy metal album to you all in spring 2011. Tourplans for next year are also taking form and we know that we’re gonna hit more places than ever before. Festival season is also gonna be a blast as usual!
Finnish melodic death metallers Norther have entered Astia Studios with producer Anssi Kippo (Children of Bodom) to begin recording their sixth full-length album, “Circle Regenerated”, for an early 2011 release via Century Media Records.
