New England metallers IN THE RED are unleashing their self-produced album “The New World”. The band has released a new video, entitle “The Enemy”, taken from the upcoming album. Watch below.
In the wake of the societal mainstreaming of modern rock and metal in music, IN THE RED embraced their inner roots as musicians and cultivated an original sound with blends of heartfelt melodies and the belting screams of heavy metal. This blend has proven itself to be the balanced sound that lends itself to popular radio play as well as a cool, cult following of the true genre without compromising those very musical roots that are the building blocks of the band. After countless hours of writing, recording, and experimenting with various musicians for the band, In The Red has evolved, arrived and has taken the CT music scene by storm. With powerful lyrics, insanely killer beats, and shredding guitar, they have found the synergy in their group that is the perfect fit and here to stay.
Swedish female hard rock sensations, CRUCIFIED BARBARA, continue their worldwide takeover with the May 19th release of the new single, “Lunatic #1”, which comes from their latest album, In the Red, on Despotz Records.
The frantically paced track, has an accompanying video, directed by Magnus Ewald, featuring the girls running through a pasture intercut with live shots taken from a special performance for select fans at Stockholm’s Stampen club, which can be viewed below:
Frontwoman, Mia Coldheart says, “This is one of our favorite tracks on the album, it’s fun and powerful to play live and brings energy to the crowd! The lyrics are about being in a team with someone special and together you become unstoppable – invincible! Lunatic is named after one of the best show jumping horses in Sweden, I met his rider Jens Fredricson two years ago and he talked about how much you need to work and dedicate time to reach your goals and the top, and the inspiring meeting with him gave me the final strength and inspiration I needed to give 110% to finish the In the Red album. I thought the name of his best team player would be perfect to name this song. Together all of us in the band made our best album so far.”

Scandinavia’s leading all-lady hard rock/heavy metal outfit, CRUCIFIED BARBARA, has teamed up newly established microbrewery Heavy Metale Brewery AB, to launch the band’s own beer. First up is a cocky and loud Red Ale, inspired by the band’s new and acclaimed album In the Red. The beer will be available early next year in Sweden’s Systembolagen.
“A really fun collaboration,” said Per Johansson, master brewer at Heavy Metale. “I, together with Ida Evileye, who is the beerqueen in the band, discussed beer back and forth. We were inside the Bitter and Brown Ale, but felt for a Red Ale. Red Ale reminiscent of both the bitter and Brown Ale. It allows the malt to take up more space and reduces the amount of hops which gives a comfortable, slightly dry and karamellig character with a hint of bitterness to rounding.“
Crucified Barbara has also released a new single “The Ghost Inside” from its latest album In the Red on Spotify at:
“‘The Ghost Inside’ is one of our favorite songs on the new album,” said guitarist/vocalist, Mia Coldheart. “Not just because it is fun to play, but also because it is about something that most people at some time wrestle with – the inner voice that says you are not good enough or fit in.
“The community is flooded with messages screaming at us that we must be good looking, skinny, rich and popular to be happy. And many times it is unfortunately one’s own inner voice that ultimately confirms all that, and pushes away the last bit into the darkness.
“The text was written as a pep [talk] to those in touch and tell us that our songs have helped them through tough periods in their lives, but I’ve subsequently realized that I wrote this as much for myself.”
“We have longed for to make a really good beer, and now we got that opportunity in the collaboration with Heavy Metale,” said Crucified Barbara. “We have had the idea and the vision to create a ‘drink friendly’ and especially good beer for everyone and everything. Just like our music!“
In the Red, Crucified Barbara’s fourth studio album and first on Swedish label Despotz Records, can be purchased on iTunes.
Dealing with topics like misogyny and animal rights, Crucified Barbara calls In the Red “the best thing we’ve ever done musically. We have always been shocked by injustice and oppression, and this time, our opinions have taken an even bigger place in the songwriting.”

Earlier this year, Crucified Barbara launched a music video for the track “To Kill a Man” on YouTube (watch below), stating “One fifth of all the world’s women have been raped or assaulted in their lifetime. The dark statistics became the basis for the song ‘To Kill a Man’ and our most important message of the video. The production company 11Frames has captured our vision perfectly, and we are proud that we take the opportunity lifting heavy topics such as violence and sexism with a really heavy hard rock video.”
