Roadrunner has made an announcement that Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer and his wife Evis Xheneti‘s first child, D’Angelo Draxon Shaffer, was born Wednesday, November 7 at 8:44 AM.
The couple were engaged in May 2011 and married earlier this year in Paris. Shaffer also has a daughter named Carmella Star from his first marriage.
ROADRUNNER has issued the following:
Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer and Slipknot axemen Jim Root and Mick Thomson were singled out on ArtistDirect.com’s list of “Six String Titans of the 21st Century.”
The site’s editors praised Munky for his work on Korn‘s latest album, The Path of Totality, saying, “Munky finds a way to make his classically distorted, dystopian riffs work seamlessly alongside a dubstep symphony. It shows true talent, as Korn reinvent themselves and rock music yet again.”
Regarding Slipknot‘s guitar team, they had this to say: “Slipknot are one of the most inventive metal bands ever. Specifically, they have redefined the role of percussion in heavy music, with a cavalcade of drummers and percussionists on stage. That said, their riffs and guitar licks perfectly compliment and lead the vitriolic parade. Jim Root and Mick Thomson serve as the perfect conductors.”
According to RadarOnline.com, KORN guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer married actress Evis Xheneti on Monday, January 2 in Paris, France.
“We wanted to get married in Paris because this is our city,” Evis told RadarOnline.com. “James proposed at the Eiffel tower, so it just seemed like we were supposed to get married here.”
Described as a 1920s-style romantic wedding, it was held inside “a small, 200-year-old church on the Seine river.” A small group of family and friends attended the wedding, including the bride’s sister, singer Xhoana Xheneti, KORN‘s manager of twenty years and one of Shaffer‘s best friends, Jeff Kwatinetz, and KORN‘s tour manager, Jens Geiger.
The newlyweds will go on a honeymoon in a secret tropical location in a few months.
