Swiftly following up the success of her last single, a distinctive cover of “Tainted Love” (Grace Jones, Soft Cell), Arizona-based singer-songwriter Jeordie today releases “Sunset Strip.”
A long-time live favorite, the song has now been transplanted from its original setting of Vegas to the heart of Hollywood, as master remixer Jurgen Engler steps into what was already a gorgeous slice of moody nostalgia, and layers electronics and echo to transform it utterly. Think Tess Parks fronting the Shangri-Las, and you won’t be far wrong.

Shot on Sunset Strip itself, the accompanying lyric video only emphasizes the song’s magical qualities. Producer Holly West explains:
“This song embodies a strong California essence, with its lyrics and the varied vocal and instrumental effects creating a whimsical journey that evokes a vibrant and youthful atmosphere.
“I typically do not feature live actors in my lyric videos, [but] the clarity of my vision upon hearing the song was undeniable. I reached out to a friend whom I knew would resonate with this feeling, and coincidentally, I was with another friend who was perfectly attired for the concept.
“I explained the vibe I envisioned, and they danced along the strip while I followed them with the camera. The entire shoot was brief, lasting around ten minutes. The true magic occurred during the editing process; by slowing down the footage to evoke a sense of nostalgia, I believe we perfectly captured the intended vibe. I’m very happy how this video turned out!”
The daughter of the late Woodstock icon Melanie Safka, Jeordie is currently working towards a new album for release by Cleopatra during 2025. She will also be heard on the upcoming children’s album Lullabies From Heaven, recorded with her mother and siblings.
