Some weeks ago, the Frontman Corey Tayler of Slipknot has revealed to Des Moines Register Newspaper that he and his bandmates will decide still this summer, wheather to continue or not to play, without their bassist Paul Gray, who died for an accidental overdose in May. And some days later the Band’s drummer, Joey Jordison confirmed that a new album of Slipknot will be recorded.
Jordison: “I’m still mouring the passing of my best friend and musical soulmate, but we will rock on without him. There will be another Slipknot record… but… there aren’t any replacements. Everyone in the band plays bass and can play guitar. We’ll get to that point when we get there. But I want everyone to know… that Slipknot will return. Paul would never want us to not make another Slipknot record.”
Talking about Gray’s tragical end, Jordison comments to Des Moines Register Newspaper: “I’ve been done with that stuff for three years. I thought it was all fun and games, but it’s not. After I got done with my tour with Korn (in 2007), I really went for it… It caught up with me, and that’s it. I just stopped. Life is definitely a lot more precious now. Music right now, really, when I play it, it’s like I’m playing it for all the people that I’ve lost. I think about them all the time.”
