German power metallers GAMMA RAY have had to cancel tonight’s Malmö show due to Kai Hansen’s illness. They posted the following statement on their official Facebook page:
“MALMÖ GIG CANCELLED!!!
Sadly though todays gig in Malmö has to be cancelled. The following gigs (Gothenburg & Stockholm) will take place as planned. We’ll keep you informed.
Official statement of the Rays:
We are very sorry to have to inform you that the Show in Malmö can not be held. Due to recent singing with a heavy Bronchitis Kais voice is in bad condition and the doctor ordered a rest. We would have loved to do the show with Guests to help out on Vocals but unfortunately it was not possible to get the guys together for that day. Again we’d like to apologize for all caused inconveniences and hope to be able to reschedule the Show for another date. We are working on organizing all for being able to do the Shows in Gothenburg and Stockholm. Stay tuned! The Rayzzz”
GAMMA RAY drummer Michael Ehré is publishing a blog whilst the band are on their ‘Empire Of The Undead’ tour and has reported that vocalist Kai Hansen was unable to perform at their recent Aschaffenburg show due to serious throat problems. Michael stated:
“The show in Aschaffenburg yesterday was something really special. Kai had serious problems with his voice so we decided to invite some guest-singers to avoid canceling the show. Thanks to Tobi Sammet (Edguy), Fabio Leone (Rhapsody Of Fire,…) and Frank Beck (a friend of Dirk) for helping us out! It was fantastic!”
