Kult Mogił comment about the new sound on “Torn Away The Remains of Dasein”:
“Instead of following trends of fashionable playing, we’re heading in the opposite direction, going back to the roots of death metal even more than before. This is our most essential recording, devoid of layers of sludge and other popular additions from previous releases. We want the new songs, stripped of these ornaments, to defend themselves with strong, load-bearing riffs. This album is 100% devoid of the desire to be avant-garde or experimental. We are destroying the previously developed formula so that we can on its ruins pay homage to the classics of the genre.”

Almost two years since the release of their debut album, “Anxiety Never Descending”, KULT MOGIŁ return with an EP entitled “Portentaque”. It is scheduled for a 29 September 2017 release through PaganRecords on digital, CD and 12” vinyl (45 rpm) formats. Pre-orders are now available through the label’s webstore.
The stunning artwork was prepared by Jose Gabriel Alegría Sabogal (presented in full in the vinyl version), and the layout by Mentalporn.
“Portentaque” includes over 18 minutes of immaculate metal of death. The EP consists of the intensity of Dead Congregation or Necros Christos, the heaviness of Incantation and the ghastly, oppressive climate of Encoffination.
The latest newcomer from the Polish metal scene, KULT MOGIŁ, are about to release their debut full-length, “Anxiety Never Descending”, later this month via Pagan Records. The ghastly death metal album, which has already received praise from the likes of No Clean Singing, Toilet ov Hell and Crack Magazine, is now streaming internationally via the websites below.
The CD version of Anxiety Never Descending will be released on 24 December 2015. Pre-order it via the record label’s webstore now. Limited vinyl and cassette versions are planned for next year.
Islander of No Clean Singing comments about the track “Serene Ponds”:
“Dissonant melodies and searing solos spin and writhe through the music, heightening the song’s vivid sense of horror, paranoia, and insanity. It’s a disturbing experience for sure, but there’s so much power, variety, and explosive exuberance in the song that it’s as gripping and charismatic as it is harrowing.”
The band commented: “This record will not make dying any easier for you”. The ghastly music this group creates should appeal to fans of Portal, Bölzer, Dead Congregation, Cruciamentum, Necros Christos or Cultes Des Ghoules.
Regarding the band’s name, the members explain that Kult Mogił does not translate to “sepulchral cult”. Instead, “cult of graves” is more fitting and understood as a “burial place with or without tombstones” as opposed to “the cult of dead ancestors”.
