RED SERPI mainman Fabian Vestod has put together a special project creating a new song, paying tribute to Lemmy Kilmister. Check out the video for ‘King Lemmy’ by WORSHIPPERS OF THE SEVEN:
Fabian states:
“The day Lemmy passed away felt like drowning in a winter sea. He was one of those few boats out there still carrying noble values on board. What a great character and model to follow, one of the best incarnations of rock and roll rebels, surely our favorite one. I wanted to pay tribute to this legend asking for the help of a few friends who might have wanted to do the same. This is when the artist collective “The Worshippers Of The Seven” was created. I have to massively thank everyone who got involved in this project. Without the help of these folks achieving this goal wouldn’t have been possible. I also tried to organize a charity event in London, but unfortunately the main person I wanted to talk to about it didn’t reply to me, which is understandable considering the small fish I am. Nevertheless, we’re very happy to deliver the original song and video anyway. Looking back to the day Lemmy left this world, sadness and tears made our hearts heavy, but the joy he gave us with his music will live on forever Long live Motorhead! Long live Lemmy! Long live the King!
Much love and respect, Worshippers of the Seven.”

The man who lived his life like no other: Sex, Drugs and Rock’n’Roll were for sure his trade marks and he was enjoying and living life to the fullest until the end. A great artist, a gentleman, an honest and loyal person, an icon for many and an inspiration for his fellow musicians and fans. Born on Christmas Eve 1945 in Stoke on Trent in England, he founded the world famous band Motörhead in 1975 and lead his band through storm, rain and sunshine, all the way to the top with the very last record ‘Bad Magic’ who claimed No 1 in many European charts. Well known as a powerhouse trio, Motörhead was one of the hardest working band in the world, touring more than seven month out of the year and during time off always recording a new album for their fans.
Ian ‘Lemmy’ Kilmister died peacefully on December 28th 2015 in Los Angeles.
The Metal Hammer Golden God Awards in association with Fireball has brought together rock behemoths, SAXON, with Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee of MOTÖRHEAD to play a special one-off set of Lemmy’s favourite SAXON songs and MOTÖRHEAD classics in a unique Salute To Lemmy.
Lemmy was, and will always be, one of the godfathers of rock. A renegade, an innovator, an icon and an inspiration, there is no doubt that the world of rock would look very different today if it wasn’t for him. ‘A Salute To Lemmy’ is a unique celebration of the man himself. Saxon, one of Britain’s greatest rock bands – who in their own right have sculpted and inspired the world of rock today and have influenced generations of bands – will perform a one-off live set with guitarist Phil Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee of Motörhead.
The Eventim Apollo (formerly Hammersmith Apollo) is a new venue for the Golden God Awards and the perfect venue for Britain’s salute to Lemmy. The venue is staunchly part of Motörhead’s history – the band’s ‘No Sleep ‘Til Hammersmith’ live album reached Number 1 in June 1981, 35 years to the month of this year’s awards.
Biff Byford of SAXON says, “Lemmy was a great friend and he always supported our band – as we did Motörhead – through ups and downs. We were touring with them until he died, so to be able to honour him at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods is a great opportunity to say goodbye.“
This year, TeamRock and the Metal Hammer Golden God Awards are teaming up with Pinewood Live to film the event. Pinewood Live, is part of the Pinewood Studio Group, a leading provider of studio and related services to the global creative industries, synonymous with world class British and international film and television productions.
Billy Watson, Director of Pinewood Live, says, “Pinewood Live is delighted to be involved with this momentous anniversary for the Golden God Awards. Capturing the event for posterity and distributing the show around the world is a great way to celebrate Lemmy’s music and contribution to rock.”
“The Metal Hammer Golden Gods are about more than those who we honour on the night,” says Alexander Milas, Editor-in-Chief of Metal Hammer Magazine and TeamRock Executive Director. “It’s about letting the proverbial hair down and partying with the readers who’ve supported us for all these years, and the first act we’re announcing for the night is sure to be emotional. A salute to Lemmy Kilmister with Saxon and Motörhead’s members Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee is going to bring the house down, and means that June 13th will be one for the history books.“
“Any movie fan will know that Pinewood is a mark of quality,” says Milas, “and Pinewood Studios have hosted some of the greatest films of our time, from Star Wars to Superman the list goes on and on. To be working with Pinewood Live in their latest venture to immortalise the Metal Hammer Golden Gods is more than an honour. It’s two institutions working together to break new ground and we guarantee you won’t see anything like it.“

MOTÖRHEAD icon Lemmy was remembered at last night’s Grammy’s when Alice Cooper’s HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES played ‘Ace Of Spades’ to a surprised pop and rap audience in Los Angeles, reports classicrock.com. Check out a video below (not good sound quality):
The explosive tribute came after Alabama Shakes won four gongs. They took home Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance for ‘Don’t Wanna Fight’ – which they played live during the ceremony – plus Best Alternative Music Album and Best Engineered Album (Non-classical) for “Sound & Color”.
GHOST were named winners of the Best Metal Performance Award for “Cirice”, while Muse won Best Rock Album for “Drones”.
Dave Grohl introduced the Hollywood Vampires’ TV debut by saying: “Many of us play rock’n’roll but a rare few among us are rock’n’roll. Lemmy was rock’n’roll. He was a rebel, an outsider, one of a kind, and a way of life. He was Motorhead. He was a legend and I was proud to call him my friend.”
Cooper, Joe Perry, Johnny Depp, Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan then hit the stage, performing ‘Ace Of Spades’ in front of a bass rig featuring Lemmy’s trademark high mic stand and cowboy hat and bass. They appeared to have won over much of the bemused audience by the end of their short set.
Alabama Shakes bandleader Brittany Howard admitted it had been a “crazy” night for her, adding: “What an honour. We never even dreamed of this moment. When we started this we were in high school and we just did it for fun. We never thought we’d win any recognition like this. It’s beautiful – and I promise we’re going to keep going.”
Ghost frontman Papa Emeritus said in his brief acceptance speech: “Thank you so much for this. This is a big, big thing for us, obviously. A nightmare has just turned into a dream – thank you all for that.”
Buddy Guy’s “Born To Play Guitar” was named Best Blues Album while the reissue of Roger Waters’ 1992 solo album “Amused To Death” won Best Boxed Or Special Limited Edition Package.
Maria Schneider’s work on David Bowie’s “Sue “(Or In A Season Of Crime) won Best Arrangement while Grammy’s were also received by Bob Dylan and Mavis Staples.
The ceremony also featured the Eagles delivering a musical tribute to late colleague Glenn Frey, Lady Gaga performing in memory of David Bowie, and Gary Clark Jr, Bonnie Raitt and Chris Stapleton staging a farewell to B.B. King.

The organisers of Download Festival have announced that the main stage on the Saturday this year has been renamed ‘The Lemmy Stage’ in tribute to Lemmy Kilmister, who passed away in December 2015. The statement can be read below:
“Whilst we’re saddened to say Motörhead will no longer be performing at this year’s Download Festival, we will honour a true rock ‘n’ roll icon who inspired so many others on the bill, Lemmy Kilmister. For one year only, Download Festival’s Main Stage will be named ‘The Lemmy Stage’ in tribute to a much loved and missed legend. We are working with Motörhead’s management on a tribute to the great man during the slot he would have performed on, more information to follow.”
Since the death of MOTÖRHEAD legend Ian Lemmy Kilmister, there has been a general consensus that his favourite drink of Jack Daniels and Coke should be renamed “The Lemmy”. This has now happened courtesy of Food & Beverage magazine, who stated via their official website:
“Rock legend Lemmy Kilmister has joined the ranks Arnold Palmer, Bellini, Shirley Temple and Tom Collins. Food & Beverage Magazine has officially named the industry standard call-out drink of Jack & Coke to “The Lemmy” in honor of Official Motörhead legend Lemmy Kilmister’s favorite drink which he made famous on the Sunset Strip at The Rainbow Bar and Grill.
“We are honored to represent the industry and bring the moniker, “The Lemmy” to every bar in the world!” exclaims Food and Beverage Magazine Publisher, Michael Politz. “Owning a Rock club with Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell gave me the chance to meet Lemmy and experience his legend myself.”
“…and so it has been officially done. Lemm would be happy.”
