LEPROUS vocalist/keyboardist Einar Solberg commented about “Running Low” as follows: “The initial idea for “Running Low” started when I had decided to force myself to write a sketch on my phone on a way up to a mountain top called “Himingen” in Telemark, Norway. It felt completely pointless while I was doing it, but when I came back, I was able to go further with it and actually structure it into a proper composition. Then we met up in Cederberg Studios together with the band to take it even further. This song is a proof that even the smallest sparks can turn into a big flame. Despite being a band who always wants to explore new territories, I believe “Running Low” can easily unite both our old and new fan base.”
Next to the Jewelcase CD and Digital Album versions, “Aphelion” will also be available as limited edition Mediabook CD (with expanded booklet) and as Gatefold 2LP+CD with two bonus tracks.
The album’s 180g 2LP vinyl version, which comes in Gatefold packaging and with the entire album on CD as bonus, is available in various colors and limited editions.
Creative Norwegian Rock outfit LEPROUS have announced the release of their new studio album “Aphelion”, coming August 27th, 2021 worldwide.
Following up on 2019’s highly acclaimed “Pitfalls” album, LEPROUS recorded “Aphelion” throughout the last year at three different studios: Ghost Ward Studios in Sweden, Ocean Sound Recordings in Norway and Cederberg Studios in Norway. The album was once again mixed by Adam Noble (Placebo, Biffy Clyro, Nothing But Thieves, etc.), mastered by Robin Schmidt (The 1975, Placebo, The Gaslight Anthem, etc.) with its front cover artwork – designed by Elena Sigida, based on photography by Øystein Aspelund.
LEPROUS vocalist/keyboardist Einar Solberg checked in about “Aphelion” as follows:
“We had no plans to start with a new album, then came Covid. “Aphelion” is a very different album. It’s intuitive and spontaneous. We’ve experimented with many completely different ways of writing music and explored new ways to work. There has been no room for overthinking, exaggerated perfectionism or carefully planned songs. I believe this is one of the strengths of this album. It feels alive, it feels free and it does not come across as too calculated.
Look out for the album pre-order to start on June 25th, 2021, enhanced by the release of a new single!

Norwegian Rock outfit LEPROUS continue to promote their newest and much acclaimed album “Pitfalls”, released last October worldwide via InsideOutMusic.
LEPROUS are now launching a special live video for the epic final song on the album, “The Sly Is Red”.
The clip created by João Filipe and Creative Productions was recorded on March 1st, 2020 in Lisbon, Portugal, coincidentally the last show of the latest European tour by LEPROUS, but also the very last regular live-show before the current general halt of live-activities.
Check out the clip here:
Having recently performed a successful online streaming concert, LEPROUS are now pleased to return to stages next week, July 10th, 2020 at Sentralen in Oslo, Norway for two very specials live-shows with different setlists.
In other news, today marks the release for the much overdue LEPROUS vinyl re-issues of their early albums “Coal” (2013) and “The Congregation” (2015) via InsideOutMusic.
Both albums were originally mixed by Jens Bogren as well mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios (Opeth, Devin Townsend, Katatonia).
Today, Norwegian Rock outfit LEPROUS are launching a new, third single entitled “Distant Bells” off their sixth and most ambitious studio album “Pitfalls”, which is to be released on October 25th, 2019 worldwide via InsideOutMusic.
LEPROUS checked in to comment about the song as follows:
Simen Børven (Bass): “The instrumental part of Distant Bells is a compilation of my musical background. Influences from Nordic Jazz and Symphonic Pop infuses the attempt of stretching an extremely simple idea, from almost nothing, to an explosion towards the ending of the song. To me the composition is like an evolution from a single self-replicating cell into a complex sentient being.”
Einar Solberg (Vocals/Synth): “It was both challenging and very refreshing to work on “Distant Bells”, as the main instrumental idea didn’t come from me. It opened up new doors of creativity within myself and it was very exciting to do the melody and lyrics for this track. It’s a very different LEPROUS track, and it turned out to be one of my personal favourites. Simen has a different musical background than myself, and our contradictions are probably what made this song shine so bright.“

Australian electro prog sensation VOYAGER have teamed up with Metal Hammer TV to premiere the stunning music video for their new single, “Entropy”, which features Einar Solberg from LEPROUS. The video, which was created by Dark Spirit Photography, can be viewed via the official Metal Hammer YouTube channel at THIS LOCATION.
An accompanying Metal Hammer feature on VOYAGER can be found at THIS LOCATION.
Vocalist Danny Estrin comments on the video: “Touring with Leprous around Europe and Australia, we became good friends with the guys – they are fantastic musicians and fantastic human beings. Einar has one of the most unique styles and grasp for vocal melodies in progressive music today and it would have been remiss of me not to ask him to guest on this track. I gave Einar free reign to do what he wanted – a risky move usually, but not with Mr Solberg. The end result is stunning – a truly catchy Voyager track with some soaring Solberg – it doesn’t get better than that!
Solberg adds: “I was super happy to participate on ‘Entropy’ with my good friends from Voyager. Very groovy stuff! Danny gave me some guidelines for vocals but I didn’t even listen to them.”
Danny continues: “I can confirm that Einar definitely didn’t listen to the reference track. #surprisevocals”
“Entropy” is taken from the band’s upcoming new album, ‘Colours in the Sun’, which is due on November 1 via Season of Mist. It can be pre-ordered HERE.
VOYAGER have previously revealed the artwork and track-list of ‘Colours in the Sun’, which can both be viewed below.
Vocalist Danny Estrin comments on the album: “Colours in the Sun is the most transcendent, layered, and effervescent album we have written and recorded. It’s poppy, but still holds weight with crunchy, powerful riffs. It’s a true reflection of Voyager – five individuals from different roots coming together and creating a unique sound under the Australian sun.”
Tracklist:
1. Colours (4:05)
2. Severomance (4:23)
3. Brightstar (4:32)
4. Saccharine Dream (5:27)
5. Entropy (4:43)
6. Reconnected (4:48)
7. Now or Never (1:39)
8. Sign of the Times (3:47)
9. Water Over the Bridge (4:42)
10. Runaway (4:38) Total: 42:44
