LILLIAN AXE have released the first video and single “I Am Beyond” from their upcoming new album “From Womb To Tomb” due August 19th on Global Rock Records.
Guitarist Steve Blaze describes the track:
“We designed it to represent the realization of a child as he comes into the world. It has elements of Game Of Thrones, Tron and the Matrix all wrapped up into an epic song about the awareness we perceive in our first memories that we are now an existing eternal soul.”

“I believe the basic idea behind the creation of “From Womb to Tomb” has been in my head for many years. The time just needed to be right to express it. This album is a different type of concept record, whereas it does not contain a story-based theme. Rather, it is a timeline from the birth of a child to the ascension of the soul, with each song emphasizing a specific time of one’s life and the lessons learned therein. These observations are based on my life and the witnessing of the growth and development of the human condition through my eyes. The wonderful part is that these life experiences seem to exist in each and every one of us, even though the paths and events may greatly differ. This is the most emotional and powerful music I have ever written, and by the reactions of the few people close to me who I have played it for, it will hit a deep and resounding chord with all those who hear it. I ask one thing: listen from the start to finish in solitude, with no distractions, as if you are reading a book or watching a movie. It is not a collection of 16 individual, nonrelated pieces. But instead, it is a complete work of highs and lows, colors and shades, and emotional fluctuations. It will take you through the light of our greatness and the darkness of our failures. The band performed with beautiful power and grace, and I feel it is our best achievement to date.”

Lillian Axe are starting their support of the album with a full UK tour in August, their first there since 1993.
Two of the most underrated – but widely respected – heavy metal releases of the late ‘80s were undoubtedly the first pair of albums by New Orleans-based hard rock outfit, LILLIAN AXE – 1988’s self-titled debut and 1989’s ‘Love + War.’ And on May 12th, both will be reissued as “special deluxe collector’s editions” via Rock Candy Records – complete with multi-page booklets, essays, and fully remastered audio, shaped from 24 BIT digital technology.

The band – which been led since their inception by guitarist Steve Blaze – caught the attention of metalheads during an era when bands like Ratt ruled the MTV/radio airwaves. And it just so happened that Ratt’s manager at the time, Marshall Berle, crossed paths with the band, and helped broker a recording deal with MCA Records, and in turn, enlisted Ratt’s late guitarist, Robbin Crosby, to produce the group’s debut album – spawning such standout tracks as “Dream of a Lifetime,” “Vision in the Night, “and “The More That You Get.”
LILLIAN AXE came back even stronger with their sophomore set, ‘Love + War,’ with Tony Platt (who had previously worked with the likes of AC/DC, Def Leppard, and Krokus) serving as producer – which resulted in such rocking tunes as “The World Stopped Turning,” “Show a Little Love,” and “She Likes It on Top.”

Performed acoustically in an intimate setting housed in a Masonic Temple in the Bayou with LILLIAN AXE‘s most diehard fans, “One Night In The Temple” features all the band’s hits, including “True Believer”, “Show A Little Love”, “Crucified”, “Misery Loves Company”, “Ghost Of Winter”, “The Great Divide”, “Bow Your Head”, “Waters Rising” and the crowd favorite “Nobody Knows”.
LILLIAN AXE guitarist founder Steve Blaze reflects: “When I first had the idea of putting this show together, it was originally going to be a private 20-person show with acoustic guitars, vocals and no production, however, it took on a life of its own.”
“One Night In The Temple” will be released as three-disc set (2CDs/1DVD and 2CDs/1Blu-ray), housed in an elaborate digipack. Filmed in high definition, the Blu-ray and DVD will contain the acoustic performance, fan question and answer session, videos for the songs “Caged In” and “Death Comes Tomorrow”, live concert footage from the band’s July 4, 2013 performance at the Paragon Casino and behind-the-scenes footage.
