“Life and death are ephemeral. What remains is change”
After a hiatus of almost 12 years, the Doom Metal Philosophy of IMAGO MORTIS return with another fantastic work, “LSD”, album acclaimed as one of the best of the year of 2018 by various websites and publications. The album offers an epistemological view on the myth of romantic love. A conceptual work drawn from the studies of anthropologist Helen E. Fisher as well as classical philosophy (Schopenhauer, Plato, Nietzsche), culture and poetry, as well as our own existential inquiries and personal experiences. It’s all loaded with the characteristic dense and dramatic style of Doom Metal, adding diverse elements like erudite music, world music, progressive rock, modern metal, among others.
LSD in the context of the album means “Love, Sex and Death”, alluding to the chemicals that provoke “passion.”

VIDA was based on studies and testimonies performed with the terminally ill, as well as on various philosophical and artistic works on the subject. The CD also includes a multimedia track, The Play of Change, a game of oracles based on the I Ching, the millennial Book of Change. This work obtained great repercussion and became a great classic of National Metal, according to the magazine Roadie Crew, among others.
