LÜT’s debut album received praise by Metallica’s very own Lars Ulrich, a nomination for “New Band of the Year” by Norwegian Grammys, and the Norwegian Radio Award Show “P3 Gull. With their live performances full of explosive energy, showing that they won’t take any prisoners, LÜT have rocked the stages of major European festivals like Summer Breeze Open Air, Reeperbahn, Øya, and Tons Of Rock.
Their music is uplifting, high on energy, mosh- and dance friendly and in-your-face. Imagine the indie-pop fun of Paramore gone wild. The experimental alt-rock sound of Foals gone pop. Both mashed up with these mesmerizing post-punk vibes of Editors and the shrieking vocals of Kvelertak, accompanied by the fellow Norwegian’s incredibly raw punk rock energy. All these aspects culminate in the sound that LÜT. With «Mersmak»,LÜT delivers the very best of modern alternative rock, born out of passion and infinite energy!
As the band comments the single: “The idea of Bangkok NonStop emerged when visualising chaos, big crowds, lights and screens. Very similar to the life in megacities around the world today. The song questions how and why we share tremendous amounts of personal data and information like it’s no big deal. We are no exception, but as we state in the song: “Have had enough, like everyone else, we all do the same without face to face interactions.” What happened to human contact? – (We nailed the content of this song a bit too good when writing it a year ago). We would love to stay positive and say it’s going to get better with the years, but we honestly do not think this is the case. “On the same network, in the same town, log on to your life and start over”.

“Ingenting Å Angre På” means “nothing to regret” and catches up with the bands omnipresent PMA punk rock sound. The song’s chorus delivers energetic melodic-hardcore vibes and becomes an instant earworm. Especially the guitar melodies create playful joy and the once again overwhelming power of LÜT feels like a shot of pure energy. “Ingenting Å Angre På” is a true punk rock anthem, about not giving a fuck, as the band comments:
“When closing our eyes we often re-watch the embarrassing incidents of our life. This is true if you aren’t a member of LÜT of course. After a summer of touring and a lot of crazy shit happening (not suitable to be written down), we decided to stop giving a fuck and wrote “Ingenting Å Angre På” (Nothing to regret). We try to live our lives accordingly, which can be hard sometimes. At least the mentality gave us a really cool song. Enjoy!”
“Ingenting Å Angre På” is the seventh single off their upcoming record ”Mersmak”, to be released in January 2021! Pre-order the album here: https://orcd.co/mersmaklut
Norwegian punks LÜT bring back the summer feeling we all have been looking for on their newest single VIEPÅ – watch their brand new music video HERE, or listen to the single here https://orcd.co/viepa!
“VIEPÅ” is a song about nostalgia, it’s a tribute to the “drive you only find in young people loving what they do”. And this directly reflects the passion put into this song by LÜT. Catchy punk rock guitars, a good chorus and the typically energetic LÜT sound shows that there are no boundaries for young people. “VIEPÅ” sounds like freedom – an aural experience of driving to the beach, enjoying the sea breeze and feeling the last warm rays of late summer sun.
As the band states: “After playing three concerts, in less than 24 hours in Bergen, Oslo and Gothenburg, we had to ask ourselves; how the hell are we coping with this? This question became the self-examination and the song VIEPÅ. A tribute to the “drive” you only find in young people loving what they do. VIEPÅ is a true rock anthem and takes us back to a summer without restrictions and inhibitions among the best of friends. A personal favorite on our upcoming album. God, we miss those times…”
The band’s debut album “Pandion” did not only get a Norwegian Grammy nomination for “Newcomer of the Year”, but was also praised by Metallica’s Lars Ulrich within his podcast “It’s Electric”. When it comes to live performances, they have been described as a “killer and strong live band” [Musikknyheter (NO)], as well as delivering “a fantastic show full of energy” [Studentradio i Bergen (NO)], and being “convincing as always” [Puls (NO)]. LÜT’s latest single “LÜTetro” was featured on KERRANG! UK’s “5 Songs You Need To Hear”, while enjoying international radio airplay, as well as exciting playlist placements.
