MACHINAE SUPREMACY To Release ‘Rise Of A Digital Nation’ In October

Swedish “alternative metal” band MACHINAE SUPREMACY will release its new album, “Rise Of A Digital Nation”, on October 19 via Spinefarm Records. According to a press release, the CD “echoes the musical simplicity of [2008’s] ‘Overworld’ and faithfully reflects the issues and state of a Generation Online in its lyrics.” The album was recorded in MACHINAE SUPREMACY‘s own studio in Luleå, Sweden, with additional recording at the 4Sound Studio in Stockholm. It was mastered by Henkka Niemistö at Chartmakers in Finland.

MACHINAE SUPREMACY‘s video game-inspired sounds and melodies, masterful guitar work and unique vocal style has set the band apart from the mainstream mass of generic rock and metal since their beginning in 2000. Metal Hammer calls MACHINAE SUPREMACY “one of the most interesting bands of the current era” in their review of the U.K.-only best-of collection “The Beat of Our Decay” from 2011.

Since the release of its fourth studio album, “A View From The End of The World”, MACHINAE SUPREMACY has toured Europe with CHILDREN OF BODOM and ENSIFERUM, and signed with Spinefarm for three more albums.

MACHINAE SUPREMACY is currently working on the original soundtracks for two upcoming video game titles, among them “Project Giana”, the great grandchild of the now quarter-century old cult hit “The Great Giana Sisters”, and planning for upcoming tours in Russia and northern Europe.

ENTWINE, MACHINAE SUPREMACY Members Join Forces In FROSTLIT

Vocalist Mika Tauriainen (ENTWINE) has joined forces with drummer Tomas Nilsén (MACHINAE SUPREMACY) in a brand new Finnish “alternative metal/rock” band called FROSTLIT. The group is currently writing songs and recording demos for its as-yet-untitled full-length album.

Bernhard of Austria’s Stormbringer.at webzine conducted an interview with rhythm guitarist Andreas Gerdin and bassist Johan Hedlund of MACHINAE SUPREMACY, the five-piece from Luleå, Sweden whose particular take on metal reflects the influence of video games on contemporary culture, before the band’s April 29, 2011 concert in Vienna, Austria with CHILDREN OF BODOM. You can now watch the chat below.

MACHINAE SUPREMACY released a career-spanning collection, “The Beat Of Our Decay”, in the U.K. on March 28 via Spinefarm. The 16-song compilation features tracks from the group’s last three studio albums — “Redeemer” (2006), “Overworld” (2008) and “A View From The End Of The World” (2010) — all available on the Spinefarm label. In addition, it includes a previously unreleased cover of “Paparazzi” by LADY GAGA, plus a song recorded for the “Redeemer” album (“Fury”) that was eventually offered as a free download to fans via the band’s official web site.

MACHINAE SUPREMACY‘s “Force Feedback” video can be viewed below. The song comes off the band’s latest album, “A View From The End Of The World”, which came out last year via Spinefarm Records.
