Interview with NECRODEATH: “Thrash till’ Death”

Who else than NECRODEATH is to practice what it preaches, the priesthood…? The years do not count when the ardour and passion take root in their hearts. The 10th superb album “Idiosyncrasy” (see the review) gives you more info regarding these wild, racy, proud and indompatable animals. This interview with NECRODEATH reinforces my statements: the “class” is permanently Italian! NECRODEATH are Flegias – Vocals, Peso – Drums, Pier – Guitars, GL – Bass.

Mel Delacroix: 1987-2012 and Necrodeath is still in its place! What is the secret of this life?

Peso: Hi Mel nice to hear from you…sorry for the delay but we are really busy in these days of the beginnin of the year… There’s no secret in Necrodeath’s life and energy… it’s just the line up that works with a great passion as always and we try to do our best… What concerns our album “Idiosyncrasy” we worked a lot for all these 40 fuckin minutes… I guess, in all, about 2 years, if I think the first main riff I wrote to it .. 😉

NECRODEATH: “Idiosyncrasy” Tour 2012

Legendary italian black/thrashers NECRODEATH released the album ‘Idiosyncrasy’ in October 2011 on Scarlet Records. This new effort is arguably the band’s most challenging so far, both musically and lyrically, consisting in one single (40 min. long) track which sums Necrodeath’s musical approach without necessarily trying to sound “progressive”.

‘Idiosyncrasy’ was recorded at Outer Sound Studios in Rome, Italy and Music Art Studios in Rapallo, Italy and mixed by Giuseppe Orlando (Novembre). The artwork, inspired by Quentin Tarantino’s classic movie ‘Reservoir Dogs’, has been made by Nerve Design (Nile, Threshold, Vision Divine, Bulldozer). Leif Jensen (Dew-Scented) is credited as a very special guest on vocals.

The new album of NECRODEATH “Idiosyncrasy” is now available on ITUNES: http://itunes.apple.com/it/album/idiosyncrasy/id472110315

This new effort is arguably the band’s most challenging so far, both musically and lyrically, consisting in one single (40 min. long) track which sums Necrodeath’s musical approach without necessarily trying to sound “progressive”. Drummer Peso has once again written the majority of the music, this time with a big help from guitarist Pier Gonella, whose importance within the band’s dynamics is constantly increasing. Singer Flegias and Peso are co-authors of the lyrical concept, inspired by the eternal conflict between good and evil and the struggle towards reaching the interior peace against all odds.

‘Idiosyncrasy’ was recorded at Outer Sound Studios in Rome, Italy and Music Art Studios in Rapallo, Italy and mixed by Giuseppe Orlando (Novembre). German DEW-SCENTED has issued the following update:

DEW-SCENTED’s Leif Jensen is happy to announce that he is featured with some guest vocals on the upcoming “Idiosyncrasy” (Could have been a D-S album title, damn…haha!) album by Italian blackened Thrash Metal legends Necrodeath. Needless to say, this appearance is both an honour and a pleasure! Necrodeath were one of the earliest obscure European thrash bands that Leif discovered when he started to listen to extreme metal and their “Into The Macabre” (1987) and “Fragments Of Insanity” (1989) albums are real classics. Leif first connected with Necrodeath’s drummer Peso when his later band Sadist toured with DEW-SCENTED in 1996 and their paths crossed last time by the end of 2010 when Peso’s Ghostrider (pre-Necrodeath outfit, now re-united) played a show with DEW-SCENTED nearby Milano. Necrodeath’s new album will be released October 25th, 2011 via Scarlet records.
