Commented drummer Rikard Wermén: “We’re busy working on the new material. I would say that pretty much all of the music is all written and done. There are still a few lyrics and vocal patterns to be done.
“A lot of people have questioned me how the new material sound like, and personally I would say that [there is] more shit going on within the songs then earlier. Not that I claim it’s over-the-top technical or anything; it isn’t just more variation and still insane and truly brutal. As a matter of fact, I would go as far and say that it’s yet our most brutal and sick material so far!
“Needless to say, I’m really looking forward to have a new disc out. It’s been around three years since our last one, so it’s about damn time.”
Swedish death metallers VOMITORY have set “Opus Mortis VIII” as the title of their eighth full-length album, due in the spring via Metal Blade Records. The CD was recorded at Leon Music Studios outside Karlstad, Sweden with producer Rikard Löfgren.
Comments the band: “On Sunday, December 19th, we completed the work on the eighth VOMITORY album that we have entitled ‘Opus Mortis VIII’! It’s our eighth musical work of death, so we think it’s a very fitting title and we have some nice things going on artwork-wise for this one.
“Producer and studio owner Rikard Löfgren has done a tremendous job to get the best sounding VOMITORY album to date — no competition! We are so fucking happy with the result. The production is absolutely top-notch and the material offers diversity and dynamics that you haven’t quite heard from VOMITORY before. You will get 14 songs altogether and roughly 54 minutes playing time.”

Swedish Viking metallers Amon Amarth have set “Surtur Rising” as the title of their eighth studio album, due on March 29, 2011 via Metal Blade Records.
Frontman Johan Hegg told Terrorizer magazine, “Obviously the songs are going to be AMON AMARTH, that’s what we’ve always done, but we wanted to put a little more edge to our sound, so hopefully that’s going to come out after the mixing and everything. We’ve laid down ten tracks, and as is usual for us, every one of them is going to end up on the album.”
