“Passion And Savagery” (acoustic live), the new video from the Finnish atmospheric rock/metal band EMBASSY OF SILENCE, can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Aki Mäki and Aski Tolonen of Filmokratik Productions. The song comes off the group’s debut album, “Euphorialight”, which was released in May 2010 through the Swedish label Supernova Records.
According to a press release, “Euphorialight” is a “many-splendored album, with the dark gloominess of KATATONIA and ANATHEMA, or the progressive touches of PINK FLOYD and OPETH. The common denominator in the songs are Ines’ spine-chillingly beautiful voice and the catchy melodies of the choruses.”
“Euphorialight” features several guest artists, such as Aapo Romu, the cellist of VANGUARD, and on backing vocals Andy Koski Semmens (EREPIA, 0 X I S T; ex-ESOTERIC, ex-PANTHEIST), Juhani Palomäki (COLOSSEUM) and Teppo Tirkkonen (THE PURIFICATION). The CD was recorded at D-Studios, Finland with Jarno Hänninen, and mastered at Sweden’s Cutting Room with Björn Engelmann.

“Blood Culture”, the new video from Danish thrash metallers ESSENCE, can be viewed below. The song comes off the band’s debut album, “Lost In Violence”, which will be released on February 25 via Belgium’s Ultimhate Records.
The CD was recorded at Medley Studios (ARTILLERY, PRINCE, RADIOHEAD, MARY J. BLIGE, KELLY CLARKSON, THE CARDIGANS) in Copenhagen and was produced and mixed by Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Dave Mustaine, Mike Tramp). The mastering duties were handled by Nikolaj Vinten at Vinten Mastering (COLDPLAY, D-A-D, DIZZY MIZZ LIZZY). The cover artwork was created by Justin Osbourn from Slash Design (ABORTED, SUICIDE SILENCE, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, MAROON, SKELETONWITCH).
Commented the band: “We are very satisfied that the video finally is done and that the final outcome became as we wanted it to be, though it has been a very cold and rough experience to record the film. The lyrics deal with the subject of using your life to do worthless actions and thereby waste precious time, which you will never get back. The episode in the video could be any given unfortunate situation and we hope that the viewers will enjoy watching it.”

Founded in 1999 and led by Tuomas Saukkonen, BEFORE THE DAWN has “managed to pave their way to uniqueness by combining the heaviness of melodic death metal, the gloom of dark metal and the frostbitten cold of finnish winters with beautiful melodies and epic hymnody like no other band out there,” according to a press release.
Commented Saukkonen: “After 10 years and five albums, the very best that could have happened to BEFORE THE DAWN was to get under the wings of one of the most powerful metal machineries ever.
“The new alliance between Nuclear Blast and BEFORE THE DAWN is an fine example of determination, devotion, motivation and a true northern ‘through the thickest stone wall’ attitude.”
