Odyssey, the audio portion, was recorded live during various stops in the autumn of 2014 throughout Europe and Russia. Scala, the video portion, was filmed live on November 6th, 2014 at Scala, London, UK,
According to Century Media Records, TESSERACT have posted their video for the track “Nocturne”, taken from their critically acclaimed album, “Altered State”. The video, directed by Ben Thornley for Sitcom Soldiers, can be seen here:
The band comments on the video: “As we haven’t taken part in our promo videos for a while we felt now was the time to make an appearance. But, we also wanted to create a journey with the video that was similar to the journey portrayed by the music. A pretty straight forward step from the night, what it hides and the fear it generates, into the reassurance and safety of the dawn. We have always really liked the idea of creating silhouettes (we tried to something similar with our first video, “Deception”), so we decided upon using back lights for the majority of the video, which is then reversed when the feeling of the music changes towards the end of the track. We feel the guys at Sitcom Soldiers have really captured the mood of the song, and also produced a video that draws you in.”
Ben Thornley who produced the video for Sitcom Soldiers: “Working with TESSERACT for us was about capturing something which did a great song justice with a memorable performance, whilst providing an equally provocative atmospheric narrative. The band naturally looked great and the creative process went very smoothly and shows in the final video.”

UK Progressive Metal band, TesseracT, are excited to welcome Ashe O’Hara into the group as their new vocalist. Ashe’s power, emotion, and diversity will help to continue the distinctive yet ever evolving TesseracT sound. Hailing from Northampton originally, Ashe spent his early years singing in many different groups, from choirs to musical theatre, and has more recently worked on a number of ambient/alternative metal projects as well as session work. Ashe currently resides in Hove, East Sussex and is eagerly awaiting the upcoming tour and working on the new album.
Comments Ashe: I have always been an admirer of their work so it’s pretty awesome to be passed such a challenging flame. I am very aware of the anticipation and I am certainly feeling the weight of it; but I am equally excited for what shall be an amazing and shithot experience!
TESSERACT adds, “We realize that the vocalist search seemed like it took a long time, but we wanted to make sure that we found someone who was a perfect fit both on stage and in the studio and Ashe is just that. We very much appreciate the patience and support our fans have shown us and look forward to the next TesseracT chapter.
The first preview of that chapter, a teaser of the song, “Nocturne”, can be heard below.
“Nocturne” will be available as a free download and streaming everywhere on October 12th.
“‘Nocturne’, is one of the most uplifting and exciting pieces of music we have created. It faithfully continues down the same vein of groovy and euphoric progressive soundscapes that we’re known for. Whilst at the same time allowing for the musical evolution that is essential for any band that has a lineup change,” says TESSERACT.
TESSERACT also recently picked up the ‘New Blood’ award voted for by readers of PROG magazine at last week’s first ever Progressive Music Awards in their native UK and are preparing to for a small run through the UK and Europe where you will have the chance to meet Ashe, too.
