HELL: Update Fans On Charity Sale

As previously posted ,those thoroughly nice chaps from English metallers HELL had their charity sale last night (Friday) and have sold many items, resulting in what is already a great tremendous amount of money towards the Nordoff Robins charity. Check out the comments in the form of three updates from the band on their official Facebook page:

“The response to the sale has been (and still continues to be) UTTERLY OVERWHELMING. From all corners of the world you have come to support us – from Costa Rica, Israel, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Russia, Malta, from every corner of Scandinavia and Europe, from Japan and Australia, from the USA and Canada – and of course from our fellow countrymen and women. You people are UNBELIEVABLE. THANKYOU from the bottom of our blackened hearts. Please bear with us for a few days on shipments – we have a colossal number of items to pick, pack and ship. We always knew we had the best fans in the world – you just proved it again \m/”

“It’s just gone 1 in the morning and we have literally just got up to date with order and shipping label printing – thanks again to you all, it’s been a MASSIVE night. We’re pretty honest guys – so let us tell you that after receiving orders for 79 out of the 100 limited ‘Ouija’ shirts within the first 15 minutes (!!), we knew we had a serious problem. This is a charity effort after all, and we also realised that many people would be disappointed at missing out. Cue one panicking call to the shirt printer – and problem solved. They’ll be working overtime this weekend so everyone (including our charities) will be happy. Thanks again to you all for your support – you’re amazing \m/”

“First batch of shipments have just gone out, orders still coming in. We don’t yet have final accounts (more to come) – but we already transferred an initial lump sum payment into the charity fund. LOOK WHAT YOU AMAZING PEOPLE HAVE DONE !!”

Alexander Milas Posted Update Message From Cambodia

Alexander MilasAs previously posted, Metal Hammer Magazine‘s Editor-In-Chief, Alexander Milas  tweeted about his upcoming cycling trip to Cambodia to raise money for children. The tweet was as follows:

“In a week I’ll be on my way to Cambodia raising money for kids. Please help, and help spread the word. It’s metal.”

Alexander has recently checked in with the following message from his journey in Cambodia:

“A tough, incredibly hot day one of the Truants Cambodia charity ride draws to a close, Run Through The Jungle by Creedence playing through my head the whole way. The area around Angkor Wat is breathtaking, as is cycling through it. Much more soon.”

ALEXANDER MILAS: Metal Hammer Editor-In-Chief Prepares For Fundraising Trip To Cambodia

Alexander MilasMetal Hammer Magazine‘s Editor-In-Chief, Alexander Milas has tweeted about his upcoming cycling trip to Cambodia to raise money for children. The tweet was as follows:

“In a week I’ll be on my way to Cambodia raising money for kids. Please help, and help spread the word. It’s metal.”

The story behind Alexander’s cycling trip is on his JustGiving page:

“A few years ago Rod Smallwood asked whether I had the guts to take on a ride through the desert for a good cause or three. It was the Truants Morocco ride to benefit Teenage Cancer Trust, Nordoff Robbins, and Childline. It gave me a cycling bug I just haven’t been able to shake, and this January we’ll be back at it to benefit  kids facing cancer, kids who need a lifeline, and kids who can benefit from music therapy, and believe me the results are breathtaking. 

This time we’re hoping to bring the grand total of money earned over the years to over a million pounds, and we’re asking for your help. The costs of my trip are covered with the generous support of my company TeamRock, so your donation will go straight to the charities who need it most. No amount is too small (or too large!) but if you’ve money to spare, I guarantee it’ll be very gratefully received. Thanks very much!”

Nordoff Robins UK uses music to transform the lives of vulnerable people across the UK with a range of challenges such as autism, dementia, mental health problems, brain injury, depression or a life-threatening / terminal illness. The money raised will go to Nordoff Robins, who account and share out the funds between the three charities.

The trip starts on the 24th January and the team will be cycling over 100 miles during 3 days.
