Four-and-a-half years in the making, “Beyond The Red Mirror” was recorded at Twilight Hall Studio in Grefrath, Germany and produced by Charlie Bauerfeind (SAXON, HAMMERFALL, HELLOWEEN). The album’s spellbinding tracks showcase BLIND GUARDIAN’s long-awaited collaborative work with three different classical choirs from Prague, Budapest, and Boston, plus two grand orchestras – each featuring 90 musicians.
An endeavour demanding that attention be paid to the lyrics as much as to the music, “Beyond The Red Mirror” is a desperate search for truth, an exploration of the relativities of good and evil, a testimony of the consequences of lost opportunities, a glimpse into a distant universe’s dystopian society, and a story about a prophecy, a promise of revolution, a plot for revenge, and a miracle machine with powers far beyond what mere mortals could have dreamed possible.

BLIND GUARDIAN will be performing on this year’s 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise in January 2015 before launching their headlining tour through Europe this upcoming April and May. A very special hometown show at the Mitsubishi Electric Halle in Düsseldorf, Germany will take place on April 25th.

Pioneers of Sumerian thrashing black metal, MELECHESH, have revealed the cover art for the band’s upcoming studio album, “Enki”. Check it out below:
Commented mainman, singer and guitarist Ashmedi: “For the artwork we collaborated again with John Coulthart, who has done our previous two album covers. The art reflects the dynamics of the album and the world of MELECHESH: order and chaos. It amalgamates several spiritual, cultural and mythological concepts from the Near/Middle East and our lyrical aspects. Again it was based in the golden ratio which for the purpose of this album seemed suitable. The pillars featured here are a continuation from the previous album and lead to a path of knowledge. John always manages to capture the essence of MELECHESH.”
Furthermore, due to unforeseen production issues, the release of “Enki” had to be pushed to February 27 (EU), March 2 (UK) and March 10 (US).
The follow-up to 2010’s masterpiece “The Epigenesis” marks the band’s sixth full-length album and will feature iconic guests Max Cavalera (SOULFLY, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, KILLER BE KILLED), Sakis Tolis (ROTTING CHRIST) and Rob Caggiano (VOLBEAT, ex-ANTHRAX).
The album was recorded in Greece by Giorgos Bokos (ROTTING CHRIST) while Jonas Kjellgren (IMMORTAL, LEGION OF THE DAMNED, OVERKILL, HYPOCRISY) took care of the mix and mastering in his renowned Black Lounge Studios in Sweden.

UK modern thrashers SYLOSIS have released a teaser clip in anticipation of their new album “Dormant Heart”. The clip includes music, lyrics, studio footage and more info about the recording of the new album. Watch the teaser over on the band’s official Facebook page.
SYLOSIS will release their fourth studio album “Dormant Heart” on the January 12th (UK), 13th (N. America) and 16th (Rest of Europe) via Nuclear Blast. The album was produced by vocalist and guitarist Josh Middleton with the help of engineer Scott Atkins and was mastered by TesseracT guitarist Acle Kahney. The artwork was created by Bristol based artist BONFIRE (Opeth, Satyricon, Kataonia). On the theme of the artwork Josh comments: “The cover relates to sacrifice (the sacrificial lamb is more of a symbol than something to be taken literally) but also the looming, oppressing figure in the background represents corruption and being forced into something against your will.”
Despite the name, “Dormant Heart” is not a peaceful album; it’s about a powerful force unleashing anger against everyday injustice and a sleeping society that lets these things wash over them.
In regards to the record Josh states: “It’s the most pissed-off, aggressive and intense album we’ve done, yet it still retains the epic, progressive and melodic side we’re also known for. It’s a very gloomy and atmospheric album. We’ve been through a lot as a band and individuals and we’ve made our darkest album to date.
“The title refers to people going through life on autopilot and being one of the herd, how a lot of people simply accept the way things are just because it’s ‘tradition’ as opposed to taking a good look at the world around you and thinking for yourself. Sometimes there are catalysts that happen and change our perspective or consciousness.”
SYLOSIS began tracking the new album back in March 2014, working away secretly alongside touring commitments. Drum tracks were recorded in May at Monkey Puzzle House by original drummer Rob Callard, who parted ways with the band last month due to time restraints. After filling in for some live shows during SYLOSIS’ Spring 2014 tour, BLEED FROM WITHIN’s drummer Ali Richardson is now a permanent member of the band.
