Today, January 21st, Ozzy Osbourne shocked the rock world by revealing his recent diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease, a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system. The news comes after a string of health woes throughout 2019 pushed back the singer’s tour dates across the world, issued Loudwire.com.
That’s what the legendary rocker revealed Tuesday morning in an interview on Good Morning America, speaking to host Robin Roberts. Ozzy’s new album Ordinary Man is due out next month, and the “Prince of Darkness” recently mounted an impressive comeback with “Under the Graveyard”.

“It’s been terribly challenging for us all”, Osbourne told Roberts this week. “I did my last show New Year’s Eve at The Forum. Then I had a bad fall. I had to have surgery on my neck, which screwed all my nerves.”
The musician’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, added more about the Parkinson’s diagnosis. “It’s PRKN 2,” she said. “There’s so many different types of Parkinson’s; it’s not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination, but it does affect certain nerves in your body. And it’s — it’s like you have a good day, a good day, and then a really bad day.”
Ozzy received the diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease last February after he experienced a fall and underwent subsequent surgery. Now, the singer is taking both medication for Parkinson’s and nerve pain.
“I got a numbness down this arm for the surgery, my legs keep going cold,” he said. “I don’t know if that’s the Parkinson’s or what, you know, but that’s — see, that’s the problem. Because they cut nerves when they did the surgery. I’d never heard of nerve pain, and it’s a weird feeling.”
Jimmy Kay from Canada’s The Metal Voice spoke to Kathy Rhoads D’Argenzio the sister of legendary guitarist Randy Rhoads about the recent burglary of the Musoina School of music. Kathy spoke about the items that where taken that belonged to her mother Delores and Randy, as well as Ozzy Osbourne‘s recent $25,000 reward to catch the criminals.

When asked about her initial reaction when she found out about the robbery
“I had a really heartbreak sad week, it’s been really heartbreaking what has happened to our family, to my mom and to Randy, no words. When this first happened I could not believe it, I started crying. I was devastated, who would do this? We open our hearts to the fans, we love to keep our brothers legacy alive out there and now we feel so violated and it was such a brutal attack that when I went to Musonia I was just stunned at what they did to the place. ”
When asked about the stolen items
“It was definitely a Randy Rhoads hit we believe a hundred percent they were looking for his guitars, I totally believe that. We tell people year after year after year for forty years we don’t keep his stuff in her homes and at Musonia. So we thought you know this would never happen. I think they were looking for guitars but when they didn’t find any they just cleaned out 40 years of history since had been Randy’s gone, every picture The Osbournes have given us, every picture of Randy, 40 years of memorabilia and equipment. In terms of stolen equipment there was the amp head from Quiet Riot days, they stole Randy’s first electric Harmony Rocket guitar probably about 1963. They stole a white Marshall head amp. I think they took either one or two, if anybody finds it,it was given to my mother after the company released it. There were so many instruments that were stolen. The trumpet that was stolen and let me tell you the history of it because this is probably one of the most devastating items stolen from us. In the Depression era my grandfather was a medical doctor in San Bernardino, that was his practice. Back then with the Great Depression people didn’t have money to pay for medical services. So as a barter for medical services my grandfather was given this trumpet, then he gave it to my mom and the rest is musical history in the Rhoads family and that changed her life. That trumpet was a very significant trumpet because the company it came from in World War 2 the Nazi’s bombed that company from France and so the company no longer exists. I remember my mom telling me when I was little about that trumpet, that there were silver coins used to melt down to make it, so that’s a gut-wrenching loss.”
“It’s just unbelievable there’s nothing left to show anybody, my brother Kelle did Musonia tours he did a phenomenal job on these tours he’s fantastic at it, now what is he gonna do? There’s nothing to show fans except a building that’s empty it’s so sad. They did not take pianos out of there I’m not gonna say every instruments is gone but our heart is gone from the Randy memorabilia my mother’s trumpet. I forgot to mention a very historic French horn that was my mother’s that was also taken. The Thieves just went down the hallways and took everything off the walls it was un-real.”
When asked about Ozzy Osbournes $25,000 reward to catch the robbers
“I believe that he said and you can all look up it’s on his Instagram, Facebook page which is like stunning to me, I mean I I just tear up when I think about what he’s done helping this crime be solved. The $25,000 is to the return of stolen items and I believe and/or conviction of the criminals so either one. We’ve always had the highest admiration a good rapport with them both Ozzy and Sharon they were wonderful to my mother they treated her so well I’ve always respected and appreciated that all these years so our relationship with them it’s good. I have to say this about Ozzy and Sharon they hold Randy and very high esteem they’ve always done that. I know this was very devastating to them as well and I appreciate that I really do it’s very heartfelt, it’s not phony, it’s not fake. I’ve been in touch with the office management I had a very close relationship with them they let me know about this and that they were gonna do this and I needed to provide photos for it so that’s what happened. They’re very detailed photos on Ozzy Facebook page if anybody wants to see detailed photos. We’ve found some incredibly high professional quality photos as some of the key items that are missing not all of them we just decided to do the key items and in the last picture in the grand salon of Musonia pretty much everything in that whole photo is gone.”
When asked about the good and dark side of fans of Randy
“You know 90% of the fans are amazing but there is always one twisted person.”
When asked what the future is for Musonia
” I own it with my brother but Kelle runs it. The pride that I take in that building the history that it has, the memories I have growing up there and practically my second home as I said. We will go forward I will not stop this has to be preserved as a historical place and that’s my mission. I’m not gonna let them win they’re not going to destroy our spirit and my brother Randy’s spirit and my mom this would have devastated my mother and by golly they’re not gonna win. ”

Jimmy Kay from Canada’s The Metal Voice recently spoke to legendary drummer Carmine Appice about his re-release of Guitar Zeus, Assisting with the production of Ozzy Osbourne‘s Bark at the Moon album, his monster hit ‘Do ya think I’m Sexy’ with Rod Stewart, Blue Murder, King Kobra and Unreleased Vinnie Vincent songs that he is thinking of releasing.
Watch the interview here:
When asked about the re-release of his two Guitar Zeus albums
“That’s my main thing right now, this is something that was originally done originally done in 1995-1997 and what happened was I released it everywhere in the world except in America. In 005 I tried to release it in America and soon as I got the deal the company went out of business. So I tried again with another company called Fuel, Fuel released it as a double record and they didn’t really do much so I let it go. Then I got the rights back from Fuel and I said you know what I’m gonna try and release it again and add some bonus tracks. I have 32 tracks and I found one track that I fixed and was never released ever, so I finished this track called ‘Mother Space’ and it was released as my first video. I got Bumblefoot on guitar for that and mixed it to sound like the rest of the record. Then I put some other songs that were never released like a song called ‘Nothing’ with John Norum from Europe which he plays his ass off. Then I put this whole package together and released it as Carmine Appice Guitar Zeus in America. The album was finally released on a little label of my own, so now we have 32 tracks on the digital downloads and we have 12 tracks on the CD and eight tracks on a vinyl. I’m getting to release it the way I really wanted to release it and I’ve been doing a lot of PR for it. The album sounds like Soundgarden, meets Blue Murder, meets the Beatles. It has all these great guitar players playing solos like Brian May from Queen, Yngwie Malmsteen, Mick Mars, Slash Bumblefoot, Ted Nugent, Dweezil Zappa, Zakk Wylde and the list goes on.
When asked about how the co-writing the song with Rod Stewart ‘Do ya think I’m Sexy’ and how it changed his life
“Rod Stewart used to listen to a lot of stuff on the radio and he said I want a song like ‘Miss You’ by the Rolling Stone and we gave him like a good demo and we tried different arrangements as there was a lot more of a Hard Rock arrangement on the song at the time but then Tom Dowd the producer kept having us change it. Even the first version that was done we had three guitars, bass, drums and keyboard and it sounded really massive and hard rocking, it didn’t sound like a disco song, it sounded more like with the Rolling Stones. So then they put an orchestra and before you know it ended up in 48 tracks and when you mix that down it became smaller. The released it and then it went number one everywhere. Over two million in USA and so probably the album sold over ten million worldwide. It changed my life because it made me a more of a songwriter financially.”
When asked about joining Ozzy during the Bark at the Moon Era
“I didn’t even ask to join Ozzy they called me. I was in France and my manager said Sharon Osbourne’s looking for you. So I called them and they asked me to join the band and I said well I might be interested. I have known Ozzy for a long time. And I said what happened with Tommy Aldridge they said they fired him, they recorded a new album and they wanted me to go into the studio and fix the drum sound and help finish the album with Ozzy vocals plus I would also get an associate producer credit, So I said I’ll okay this all sounds good. So we put a contract together and in my contract it said that I can have my own merchandise on the tour and it goes on to say that I have my own PR person with me doing press promoting my drum master classes that I would do on the road which they agreed to it, as it was in the contract. ”
“I went into studio to finish the Bark at the Moon album the did with Tommy Aldridge and help the poorly recorded drum sound using some of my techniques. Me and the producer probably re-mic’ed the drum sound but we could not help the timing, Tommy Aldridge drum timing was bad. Also I helped Ozzy lay down his vocals. Sharon actually left Ozzy in my care in New York City to do lay down the vocals. Then me and Ozzy flew to England and shot the Bark at the Moon video that I was in miming to We went on tour and all my master classes were sold out (I was giving money to UNICEF also for the master classes). I was making about fifteen hundred dollars a day extra on the tour with these master classes. Sharon didn’t like that, long story short she started harassing me on the tour so eventually she came said Tommy Aldridge is taking over. I said we got a contract, then she said I guess I’ll see you on court, with a real snotty face. So I took them to court and I I got what I would have got on the tour but I wasn’t in the band, that’s not what I wanted you know. I mean I sang the background harmonies on the tour and I had a good name and I did a drum solo and I always tore the audience up. But Sharon threw me off the tour. The timing on Bark at the moon was bad that’s why they called me but they took Tommy back. ”
When asked about the Vinnie Vincent Speedball cancellations and releasing unreleased songs they recorded together
“Vinnie Vincent gig was cancelled, yeah we knew it would happen. Vinnie kept saying that it’s the promoter fault but the promoter has been so sick, he’s still sick and he hasn’t had a chance to go and work the deal. I think now Vinnie Vincent has totally ruined his career, if there was any last chance, it’s gone now. I think he’s done. I mean there’s nothing on his website. I think people are afraid to book him, that’s what happens when you do stuff like this. I knew Vinnie back in 1979-80 when he played with me he yeah he had some ego problems you know and never lived up to his word in business. I don’t know what his problem is but all I know is back when I played with him and he played with Kiss he was a fantastic guitar player, really fantastic talent, good songwriter, good singer and he sang on some of the songs that we did. I think I’m gonna put some of those songs we recorded together out that no one has heard up on YouTube just for the hell of it just so people can hear some of it because they’re really good stuff, even though he didn’t want it ever released. I’m not putting it up for sale I’m just putting it up for creativity. I own the tapes. There is this one song called ‘Tears’ which was the original version of the song that he gave to to John Waite it was a little different arrangement. We have eight or nine songs we wanted to release like 50 vinyls records with these songs and sell them, and autograph them at a gig. Vinnie didn’t like them so yeah so he stopped it, so we didn’t do it, The style of the songs were not metal it was 1979 they were just hard rock. They are sort of like a Heavy Cheap Trick and kind of kind of like Cactus. ”
Jimmy Kay from The Metal Voice is joined by Senior (Canadian) CTV journalist Stephane Giroux who talks about his experiences watching Iron Maiden on the Killers tour with Paul Di’anno (June 21 1981) in Montreal as well as seeing Ozzy Osbourne play in Montreal Quebec Canada (July 28, 1981) the following month with legendary guitarist Randy Rhoads . Plus a quick recap of the new Motley Crue Biopic The Dirt. It’s hard hitting news and Metal.
In 1994, Stephan was recruited by CFCF 12 which turned into CTV News. He considered it a dream-come-true, as it was the channel he always watched growing up
Giroux has a special interest in law and legal affairs, and has covered some of Quebec’s most sensational trials, beginning with the infamous Barnabé affair, in which five police officers were tried for brutality. His coverage earned him the Leon Levinson Award in 1995, which allowed him to study law at McGill University. Other notable trials included that of Hells Angels leader Maurice “Mom” Boucher and boxer Dave Hilton.
World-renowned guitar legend Bernie Tormé has passed away aged 66, on 17th March. Bernie‘s family made the announcement on his personal Facebook page, posting a photo of Bernie, with the heading “Bernie Tormey 18.3.1952 – 17.3.2019”.
Bernie had been battling double pneumonia for a while. He would have had his 67th birthday today.
Guitar legend, blues rock psychedelic shredmeister, glam punk sleaze rock frontman: Bernie Tormé enjoyed a long and remarkable career. Hit records, world tours and international acclaim came as lead guitarist in GILLAN. After which, Bernie stepped in for Ozzy Osbourne in the aftermath of guitar legend Randy Rhoads’ tragic death before going on to front ELECTRIC GYPSIES and Tormé. Teaming up with TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider and IRON MAIDEN’s drummer Clive Burr, Bernie put together DESPERADO and later reunited with ex-GILLAN colleague, John McCoy and drummer Robin Guy in GMT.
Returning to the stage in 2013, Bernie also began working in his favoured trio format once again, releasing three critically-acclaimed albums; “Flowers & Dirt” (2014), “Blackheart” (2015), the 3CD “Dublin Cowboy” (2017) package (comprising a live, an acoustic, and a new electric studio album) and “Shadowland” (2018). All were crowdfunded, connecting Bernie directly with his fans. Bernie stated: “In the past you were pretty distant and separated from your fans with a record label in between. Making these albums with pledge campaigns has been a great experience. I like having the connection with fans and getting the feedback direct on making an album.”
R.I.P. Bernie
